Ability users were naturally more fortunate than ordinary people.

So possessed terrifying combat abilities while others had support-type powers that greatly increased survival chances.

Still...

Luck alone wasn’t enough.

So people awakened abilities but died before understanding how to use them properly.

Others understood their powers perfectly but simply weren’t lucky enough to survive.

In her previous life, Ivy herself never awakened any ability.

But now?

She had the system.

A golden finger far more terrifying and valuable than ordinary abilities.

Still, Ivy understood very well that awakened humans could beco extrely useful allies if nurtured correctly.

Especially rare types like wood abilities.

Wood abilities were incredibly valuable later in the apocalypse.

Hmn...

I’ll deal with the monster in Villa Ten first.

Then I’ll co back for him later.

Ivy thought inwardly while maintaining a calm expression outwardly.

By this point, the old man had already noticed Ivy staring at his hand.

His expression subtly changed.

Imdiately, he lowered his arm and hid his hand behind his back cautiously.

The atmosphere beca slightly awkward.

Still, Ivy pretended not to notice anything.

"Anyways, thank you for the warning," Ivy finally said politely with a smile. "And don’t worry. I’ll be careful."

With that, she turned around and walked away together with Sunny.

The elderly couple watched her figure silently for a while before quickly bringing the little girl back inside Villa Nine.

Creak.

The door shut tightly once more.

***

Ivy stood quietly in front of Villa Ten.

Above the luxurious building floated a glowing blood-red warning sign visible only through the system.

[DANGER: 100%]

Below it was another line glowing ominously.

[Rewards For Killing Monster: 10,000 Points]

Ivy’s eyes widened slightly before a satisfied smirk slowly appeared on her face.

"Now that’s crazy..."

Ten thousand points.

Just imagining what she could buy from the system shop with that amount made her heartbeat quicken slightly.

But then the higher the reward...the higher the danger.

And this monster was clearly not ordinary.

Ivy tightened her grip around her gun instinctively.

At the sa ti, the two sharp military knives hanging at her waist reflected cold light under the morning sun.

Then she turned toward Sunny.

The military dog stood alert beside her, his ears raised sharply while staring toward the villa with visible hostility.

Ivy crouched down until she was at Sunny’s height before gently rubbing his head.

"You’ll have to stay out here, sweetheart," Ivy said softly, though her tone carried seriousness. "Whatever is inside that villa is extrely dangerous."

"Bark..."

Sunny whined lightly.

"There aren’t any monsters outside right now, so stay here and keep watch for , okay?" Ivy continued patiently. "If anything dangerous happens, run back into the shelter. The system will definitely open the barrier for you."

"Bark! Bark!"

Sunny wagged his tail slightly as though confirming he understood.

Ivy smiled faintly.

"I’m sure you understand ," she murmured before planting a soft kiss on Sunny’s forehead. "Just keep your eyes open. Mommy will be back soon."

With that, Ivy finally stood back to her full height.

Her expression instantly turned cold and focused again.

Then.....

BANG!

The mont Ivy kicked open Villa Number Ten, the heavy golden doors slamd violently against the walls with a deafening sound.

The noise echoed throughout the massive villa.

Then....

Silence.

The luxurious villa was a complete ss.

Glasses littered the tiled floor while expensive wine stained the once spotless white carpet dark red. Half-eaten birthday cakes had already grown mold while shattered plates and rotten food were scattered across the dining hall.

The sll inside was horrible.

Rotten food, blood,decay.

The giant banner hanging from the ceiling read:

HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY, MISS ROSE!

Ivy narrowed her eyes slightly.

So this place was holding a birthday party before the apocalypse broke out.

How tragic.

Then....

"GRRRRRRRRR...!!!"

Two giant monsters suddenly charged toward her from both sides.

The creatures still vaguely retained their human shape, but they were no longer human.

Their skin was grayish-black and split apart in several places while sharp bones protruded from their shoulders and backs. Their mouths were filled with razor-sharp teeth, and their long claws scraped violently against the tiled floor as they moved.

Despite their horror appearance, they still walked upright like humans.

But the horrifying hunger in their eyes made them look like beasts from hell.

The monsters lunged toward Ivy simultaneously.

Too fast.

However....

Bang! Bang!

Two gunshots rang out instantly.

The bullets pierced directly through the monsters’ heads.

Blood splattered across the walls.

The creatures collapsed onto the floor almost imdiately, twitching for a few seconds before finally going still.

But just before dying, one of the monsters managed to slash its claws toward Ivy.

Shhk!

A sharp pain spread across her waist.

Ivy quickly jumped backward while narrowing her eyes.

Her clothes had been torn slightly, and a shallow scratch stretched across her side while blood slowly trickled down.

Thankfully, the injury wasn’t deep.

If her reflexes had been even slightly slower...

Those claws might have ripped open her stomach completely.

"Bastards..." Ivy cursed coldly under her breath while touching the injured area carefully.

Still, she quickly forced herself to calm down again.

Her eyes swept across the silent villa cautiously.

"Is that it?" Ivy thought inwardly.

But almost imdiately, she rejected that thought.

No.

There was no way those two creatures were the main monster.

If she had truly defeated the boss monster, the system would’ve already rewarded her points by now.

Yet her points balance remained unchanged.

Which ant only one thing.

The true monster was still hiding sowhere.

Ivy’s gaze slowly darkened.

"Anyways..." she muttered inwardly, "before it decides to show itself, I might as well clear this place out first."

The mont her eyes landed on the mountain of luxurious gifts scattered around the villa, her mood instantly improved slightly.

Diamond bracelets.

Luxury watches.

Imported snacks.

Vacuum-sealed premium beef.

Expensive alcohol.

Premium chocolates.

Silk quilts.

dical kits.

Everything disappeared into her storage space one after another.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

In the apocalypse, food was more valuable than gold.

But to Ivy?

Both food and luxury items were important.

After all, valuable goods could still be exchanged for supplies and resources through the system shop later on.

Nothing should go to waste.

Soon, Ivy moved toward the giant refrigerator in the kitchen area.

The mont she opened it, cold air rushed outward instantly.

The refrigerator was fully packed.

Frozen at.

Seafood.

Drinks.

Luxury desserts.

Fresh fruits.

Even imported ice cream.

Ivy’s eyes brightened imdiately.

Without hesitation, she waved her hand.

Whoosh!

Everything vanished instantly into her storage space.

Not even a single bottle of water remained behind.

After completely emptying the refrigerator, Ivy slowly turned her attention toward the staircase leading upstairs.

Her expression turned serious again.

"Is the boss monster upstairs?" she thought inwardly.

Honestly, she had expected the creature to attack while she was still collecting supplies.

Yet surprisingly...

Nothing happened.

Not even a sound.

Which only made the situation more unsettling.

It had to be upstairs.

Tightening her grip on her gun once more, Ivy slowly stepped toward the staircase.

But just as she was about to place her foot on the first step.....

"BARK! BARK! BARK!"

Sunny’s loud barking echoed from outside the villa imdiately.

I guess the boss monster is finally here.

Ivy swallowed hard as her grip around the AK-47 tightened instinctively.

Her entire body stood on alert.

An icy chill rushed down her spine while her gaze remained fixed firmly on the staircase ahead.

The atmosphere inside the villa suddenly beca unbearably heavy, as though sothing invisible was slowly suffocating the air itself.

"HISSSSSSSSSSS—!!!"

A terrifying hissing sound suddenly pierced through the villa.

The sound was so sharp and ear-splitting that Ivy imdiately covered her ears painfully.

"Ahhh...!"
