But it was already too late.

Lila quickly removed the cover and attempted to pour so of the at into Sunny’s food bowl.

Unfortunately, because of her tiny hands and poor grip, the plate tilted too far.

Everything slid out at once.

The entire portion dropped into Sunny’s bowl.

"Oh no..." Lila muttered under her breath, her eyes widening in horror.

But before anyone could react further....

Sunny had already rushed over.

The dog wasted absolutely no ti.

She lowered her head and imdiately began devouring the food as though she hadn’t eaten in days.

Crunch. Crunch.

Slurp.

She alternated between gobbling down the at and drinking water from the bowl beside it.

Her tail wagged happily the entire ti.

"Thanks, girl."

Ivy stood frozen.

Her eyes widened in complete disbelief as she stared at both Lila and Sunny.

What shocked her the most wasn’t even Lila spilling the entire plate.

No.

It was the fact that Sunny was actually eating.

Again.

Sunny had literally finished an entire plate of food before Ivy left to rescue her.

And now....

She was happily eating yet another full serving.

That sa serving had been ant to last until evening and maybe even the next morning.

Ivy didn’t exactly have unlimited food resources for dog.

She still hasn’t been able to get canned foods, and besides, the homade als she prepared herself were much healthier and more nutritious.

Now all of that food was gone.

Just like that.

"I’m sorry, Mommy."

Lila slowly approached Ivy again after placing the now-empty plate back onto the table.

Her tiny shoulders drooped guiltily.

"My hand slipped," she admitted softly.

Then she looked up at Ivy with complete sincerity.

"But she said she was hungry. I couldn’t just ignore her."

Ivy blinked.

"She said she was hungry?" Ivy repeated, letting out a small laugh. "Sweetie, you’re talking as if you can actually understand dog language."

"Because I can, Mom. I can understand sunny words."

The words ca out so naturally that Ivy nearly stopped breathing.

Her smile vanished.

"What?"

Lila nodded confidently.

"Sunny told she was hungry," she explained matter of fact. "And she also told where her food was."

A wave of shock ran straight down Ivy’s spine.

Her eyes widened.

For a mont, she simply stared at Lila like she had suddenly grown a second head.

What the heck is she saying now, System? Ivy asked inwardly, feeling both confused and alard.

Ding!

{She is telling the truth, Host. She can understand and communicate with the dog.}

Ivy nearly choked.

What?!

Her head snapped toward Lila again.

"You can really hear Sunny talking?" Ivy asked carefully, lowering herself slightly so she could look her daughter in the eye. "Like... actually hear her?"

"Yes, Mommy," Lila replied with a bright smile, as though this was completely normal. "It’s cute, right? I’m finally a princess. Most princesses can talk to animals."

Ivy stared at her silently for two whole seconds.

Cute?

Oh yes, definitely cute if you’re a child.

An adult, however, is legally obligated to find this extrely weird first.

My daughter is basically turning into Cinderella. Oh yeah she just called herself a princess.

Except instead of talking to mice and birds, she’s having full conversations with a giant dog. What kind of princess is she then?

Ivy ntally sighed.

Her life was becoming stranger by the day.

"Wait a minute Lila," Aria suddenly cut in.

She had been unusually quiet this whole ti, simply observing everything.

Now, curiosity filled her expression.

"Are you serious, Lila?" Aria asked, narrowing her eyes suspiciously. "Why can’t Mommy and I hear anything then?"

"Because I’m a princess. Only princesses can hear animals talk."

Aria expression slowly shifted.

Then she turned to Sunny.

A wounded look crossed her face.

"Sunny doesn’t like ?" Aria asked dramatically before turning back to Ivy. "She likes Lila more, and that’s why only Lila can hear her?"

Ivy almost laughed.

"No, sweetie," she said, shaking her head. "I’m just as surprised as you are."

She glanced at Lila thoughtfully.

"But honestly... I think this is a good thing."

Both girls looked at her.

"If Lila can actually understand Sunny, then she can help tell us what Sunny wants or needs."

Ivy nodded to herself.

"That’s actually pretty useful."

Not bad at all.

Ding!

{That is one of your daughter’s abilities, Host.}

Ivy blinked.

{In addition to enhanced strength, she possesses animal communication compatibility. More abilities may awaken over ti.}

Ivy’s eyes widened slightly.

More?

{As for your second daughter, her own abilities will reveal themselves soon as well.}

Ivy inhaled sharply as her gaze slowly drifted toward Aria.
