Ding!
{As host pleases. You’re free to na whatever you want, but my task to help you will never change.}
"Oh yeah, I know." Ivy replied with a light chuckle, her voice soft yet confident.
By now, little Hope had fallen fast asleep. Ivy gently laid her down in her small cot, carefully tucking the blanket around her tiny body. For a brief mont, Ivy stood there, watching her daughter’s peaceful face, a faint warmth blooming in her chest.
Her gaze soon shifted.
Across the room, Aria and Lila sat quietly, completely absorbed in the novels Ivy had given them earlier. Today, she had insisted they invest their ti in reading rather than watching cartoons and the children had embraced it eagerly. They had not only read the first books but had already moved on to picking new ones, their eyes shining with excitent as they flipped through the pages.
A faint smile curved Ivy’s lips.
At least they’re adapting well.
Ding!
{Will you just be continuing your military training? You’re already done with the basics, but you can keep practicing how to shoot guns and arrows.}
{There’s nothing wrong with continuing your training.}
"I know, right? I was already thinking the sa thing," Ivy replied, her smile widening slightly.
Without making any noise, she quietly slipped out of the shelter, careful not to alert Aria and Lila.
****
The mont she stepped outside, the atmosphere shifted.
Scattered across the open space were rows of training dummies perfectly arranged and newly replaced.
Ivy didn’t waste a second before she walked forward, grabbed a bow, and smoothly nocked an arrow.
Her posture straightened. Her breathing slowed.
Then....
TWACK!
The arrow shot forward with precision.
Ding!
{Bull’s-eye.}
A satisfied smirk tugged at her lips.
Of course it was.
It hadn’t been her first ti hitting the bull’s-eye... not even close. After days of relentless practice, it had already beco second nature...almost too easy.
Almost like child’s play.
She lowered the bow without hesitation and reached for the next weapon.
An AK-47.
The weight settled naturally into her grip, as though it belonged there.
Her legs spread slightly apart for balance. She bent her knees just enough, her body lowering into a stable stance. Her gaze locked onto the nearest dummy.
Then....
BANG!
The first dummy’s head snapped off instantly.
BANG!
Another followed.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
One after another, the heads rolled to the ground in quick succession, scattering across the floor.
Unknown to her children and the monsters nearby....not a single sound escaped.
The system had already taken care of that.
Every gunshot, every impact was completely silenced.
No noise to attract danger and no fear to disturb the children.
Ti passed and Ivy didn’t stop.
Even in between sessions, she would return inside....checking on baby Hope, making sure she was comfortable, responding to Aria and Lila whenever they called her. She reassured them each ti with gentle words before heading back out again.
To Ivy, shooting these dummies was no different from facing real monsters.
Her aim never wavered and her targets never changed.
The head.
She didn’t need anyone to tell her anymore....if you wanted to kill those creatures quickly, you aid for the head.
No matter the type and no matter how terrifying they looked.
Their weakness remained the sa.
Ding!
{Congratulations, host. You’ve been training for the past ten hours without giving up.}
"Oh..." Ivy muttered under her breath, slightly surprised.
Ten hours?
She wiped the sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand, her chest rising and falling steadily. The cool night breeze brushed against her damp skin, offering so relief.
"I guess that makes sense," she thought inwardly. "Shooting these dummies really does feel like I’m playing a video ga..."
There was no boredom and no exhaustion she couldn’t push through.
Just focus and progress.
{An S-level reward has been prepared for you, host.}
"Oh yeah?!" Ivy exclaid, her eyes lighting up instantly.
Excitent surged through her, cutting through her fatigue like a spark.
Even she couldn’t believe she had trained for that long.
Her children had asked her multiple tis what she was doing, but she always gave the sa answer....
"Mommy is just doing so exercises."
{Host has earned a double attribute bonus.}
{In fact, there’s absolutely no need to double it, host, when I can simply round everything up to a number that benefits you more.}
"Oh yeah... golden!" Ivy exclaid excitedly, her eyes lighting up with delight as she clenched her fists slightly.
Almost imdiately....
Ding!
{Strength 20}
{Agility 20}
{Endurance 20}
{Vitality 20}
The notifications appeared one after another, glowing faintly in the air before fading.
Ivy blinked, then tilted her head slightly, raising a brow.
"So... basically, all my attributes have been raised to twenty, right?" she asked, her tone carrying both curiosity and anticipation.
{Exactly, host.}
The mont those words fell....
A deep blue light suddenly erupted around Ivy, wrapping her entire body in a soft but powerful glow.
She froze.
For a split second, everything felt... different.
Her senses heightened instantly. The air brushing against her skin felt clearer, lighter. Her muscles tightened subtly with newfound strength, and even her breathing felt more controlled, more efficient.
It wasn’t just physical.
It was everything.
A slow, satisfied smile spread across her lips.
The system truly was her golden finger.
With this... surviving the apocalypse isn’t impossible.
"Alright then..." Ivy muttered under her breath, rolling her shoulders slightly as if testing her upgraded body. "Show my next reward."
