After a brief pause, she continued,

"I guess we needed your water ability after all. The water pierced straight through its skull. It probably broke whatever protective barrier was shielding its brain."

Darren scratched the back of his head sheepishly.

"I only awakened my water ability recently. About a month ago."

"I thought I could only produce small amounts of drinking water. In places where there wasn’t any water, I could create a little. If there was dirty water nearby, I could purify it."

He looked at his hands with disbelief.

"I honestly can’t believe I just killed a monster with it."

A laugh escaped him.

"I also can’t believe I managed to produce that much water. I’ve never done anything close to that before."

"Abilities grow," Ivy replied with a light chuckle.

Darren nodded thoughtfully.

"Looks like you’re right."

Ivy leaned against the armored vehicle before continuing.

"There are generally three major categories of abilities."

Darren imdiately focused on her words.

"The first category is Enhancent Abilities. These strengthen the body directly. Increased strength, speed, endurance, defense, reaction ti, and similar abilities all fall into this category."

Darren listened attentively.

"The second category is Elental Abilities. Fire, water, wind, lightning, ice, earth, and other elental powers belong here."

"The third category is Special Abilities. These are the rarest and often the most unpredictable. Space manipulation, ntal powers, healing, summoning, and many other unique abilities belong to this category."

Darren absorbed every word carefully.

The apocalypse had only begun, yet the world was already changing far beyond anything humanity had ever imagined.

And after witnessing the terrifying strength of a level ten monster, both of them understood one thing clearly.

They would need to beco much stronger.

"Abilities evolve alongside their users. Ivy continued. The stronger your energy becos, the stronger your ability grows. Your control improves, your output increases, and sotis your abilities even gain entirely new characteristics."

Darren’s eyes widened slightly.

She turned her gaze toward the distant location where the level ten monster had fallen.

"That attack you used today isn’t sothing an ordinary beginner should have been capable of accomplishing."

Darren followed her gaze.

The mory of the massive water spear still felt unreal to him and hearing those words from soone as capable as Ivy made him feel unexpectedly encouraged.

"You only need to keep growing," Ivy added. "As you beco stronger, your abilities will continue growing alongside you."

A look of determination gradually appeared in Darren’s eyes.

"Anyway, let’s head back to the base." Ivy said as a warm smile imdiately appeared on her face.

"I already miss my children."

Darren couldn’t help but laugh.

"You’ve only been away for a few hours."

"That’s still too long."

Ivy shrugged shalessly.

Darren shook his head with amusent before suddenly rembering sothing.

"What about the fuel?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "We’ve already killed the monster. Shouldn’t we retrieve it first?"

"Of course we should."

Ivy rolled her eyes.

"Did you really think I’d leave behind sothing that valuable?"

Darren laughed again.

"Fair point."

"Let’s go get it."

The two climbed back into the armored vehicle.

Darren returned to the driver’s seat while Ivy settled into her usual position.

*****

After retrieving the fuel and returning to the base, Ivy and Darren entered the compound.

However, neither of them imdiately went inside.

Instead, they chose to sit beneath the large orange tree in the courtyard.

A cool breeze drifted through the area, creating a surprisingly peaceful atmosphere.

Both of them had already cleaned themselves up and changed into fresh clothes.

Thanks to Darren’s water ability, bathing had beco extrely convenient.

Before returning to the base, they had washed away the blood, dirt, and gri accumulated during the battle.

Even so, there was still unfinished business waiting for them.

That was the only reason Ivy hadn’t imdiately rushed off to see the children.

Not that she hadn’t wanted to.

She had promised them ice cream before leaving.

More than once during the journey back, she had been tempted to abandon everything and run straight to them.

Fortunately, the system had already displayed the children through its holographic screen.

After confirming that all of them were safe and healthy, Ivy had reluctantly forced herself to focus on more pressing matters first.

At the center of the table before them sat a large bowl.

Inside it rested an enormous egg.

The egg was roughly the size of a goose egg, perhaps even slightly larger.

Its shell possessed faint crimson patterns that occasionally seed to shimr beneath the sunlight.

Both Ivy and Darren stared at it.

"It’s huge," Darren comnted with a heavy sigh.

His eyes remained fixed on the egg.

"It’s much bigger than any core or reward we’ve obtained so far."

Ivy nodded in agreent.

A level ten monster naturally wouldn’t leave behind an ordinary reward.

The egg itself already looked extraordinary.

As she studied it, another thought suddenly crossed her mind.

"That reminds ..."

Her eyes narrowed slightly.

"What’s my total point balance now?"

Considering everything she had accomplished recently, she felt she should have accumulated a considerable amount by now.

"If I rember correctly, I should be able to buy so really good things from the system."

The mont the thought crossed her mind, the familiar holographic screen appeared before her.

Ding!

A transparent blue panel materialized in the air.

Lines of information quickly filled the screen.

Ivy’s eyes scanned through the data.

Then her eyes widened.

"What?!"

Even Darren was startled by her sudden reaction.

The total displayed before her was far beyond what she had expected.

After all rewards, monster cores, missions, and recent achievents were calculated together, her balance had reached a staggering fifty thousand points.

For several seconds, Ivy simply stared at the number.

A look of pure surprise spread across her face.

Fifty thousand points.

That was enough to purchase the things she wanted from the system shop.
