Chapter 718: Chapter 718: Too Many Secrets Hidden
Tang Zelin finished up the work at hand and heard that his family had already made it through.
As he had just wrapped up his current tasks and had so ti to spare, he hurried over to check on them.
“Everything’s okay?”
Seeing Su Shu, Tang Zelin was quite surprised.
Embracing Xiao’ai, Su Shu turned around, “You’re done with your work?”
“Yes, I’m done. I heard there was no issue on your end, so I ca right over to see.”
“Yes, we’re fine. You don’t need to worry.”
“How did you manage?” Tang Zelin was sowhat astonished.
Leaning in closer to him, Su Shu didn’t elaborate, simply ntioning that the Fox had helped.
Looking at the Fox, Tang Zelin understood imdiately.
If the Fox could lend a hand, it ant there was still a chance to resolve the matter.
With that in mind, he felt sowhat relieved.
In the cold wind, there were many waiting for relocation.
It pained him to see them standing there, “Why not stop waiting? You could go ahead to the military base and wait there. When I co over tonight, I can transport you.”
“No need. I see you’re quite busy with work; don’t get distracted taking care of us. Moreover, in these special tis, we’re really okay and don’t need special treatnt. It would be a bother for you and not particularly advantageous—more trouble than it’s worth.”
When things were more trouble than they’re worth, it didn’t matter whether you did them or not.
Tang Zelin didn’t say anything.
Once Su Shu made up her mind about sothing, it ant she had thought it through.
He patted Lu Tong and Xiaopang’s heads beside him, “You two alright?”
“All good.” they chorused.
Su Shu suddenly rembered the illusion she had seen when she was going back to find Xiao’ai, and wanted to ntion it to Tang Zelin, but felt it wasn’t the right ti and place to talk about it.
The words she was about to say turned back in her mouth and she swallowed them down again.
“Thinking of going to have a look?”
Tang Zelin suddenly asked.
He guessed that this must be what she was considering.
“Yes.”
Su Shu didn’t deny it.
This ti, they were separated from the Luo Family and the Ge Family during the relocation.
And unlike last ti, they didn’t know in advance which location would be best. Since all the military families were assigned to one area, the issue of where to live would inevitably co up.
Waiting anywhere for Tang Zelin was the sa for Su Shu.
She might as well take the children over first to get accustod to it.
Plus, she needed to adjust herself.
After all, in her previous life, she had never moved underground to live.
Su Shu felt that in this life, sothing had gone wrong sowhere, and many things had taken a completely different direction.
Even though the overall direction hadn’t changed, she could sense that there wasn’t much ti left.
She was likely to witness more intense and unexpected events.
Ever since the Apocalyptic Rescue System malfunctioned, she had been feeling that sothing big was about to happen.
And it wouldn’t be a short ti.
This kept her on edge recently.
It was best to arrange and adapt to things as early as possible.
As for the things she saw, she would talk to Tang Zelin about them when he ca back after finishing his work.
Tang Zelin stayed with them for a while until the next batch of people arrived for relocation.
The new group of civilians started moving, and Su Shu, along with the children, didn’t ask for any special treatnt and moved with the mass of people to their new location.
Before they left, Tang Zelin specifically asked her to take the Fox with them.
“The Fox has been there before and is familiar with the place; it will spare you a lot of trouble.”
“Okay.”
Su Shu did not reject the man’s kindness.
After seeing off his wife and children, Tang Zelin turned back to his n and continued with his busy work.
anwhile, in an ordinary house on a mountain outside the camp.
Soone sat at the table, narrowing his eyes as he looked at a drawing on paper that outlined a network of relationships.
No wonder things felt off.
It wasn’t that he was overthinking; it was that the other party hid too many secrets.
