Chapter 688: Chapter 688: The Mystery of the Apocalyptic System
She sensed the seriousness in his words and sat up in bed.
After a mont of thought, she suddenly turned and got up from the bed, taking out a watch from a box and placing it before him.
“The Apocalyptic System Room was smashed, and this watch stopped working, but there’s sothing very strange about it.”
“What’s strange about it?”
“It’s these three hands; they’re still moving.”
Tang Zelin picked it up and studied it for a while, indeed, the hands on the watch moved to different positions as Su Shu moved around.
This ant that apart from the other functions being unusable, the three hands that indicate danger were still unaffected.
“This watch is part of the system; it still retains so functionality, so… could the system be the sa?” Su Shu suggested.
Tang Zelin looked up and asked, “Is that what you think?”
Su Shu got back under the covers; it was too cold outside.
“Not far off, I reckon. I’ve hit a bottleneck with my research in the laboratory. I was thinking if the system was still around, at the very least, I could ask soone about anything I didn’t understand or was missing. Now I have to fumble in the dark using only the limited resources I have left, which is quite difficult. The main thing is, it feels like a waste of ti.”
It was quite frustrating to keep encountering setbacks when there could be ways to solve the issues.
Tang Zelin looked at the watch in his hands, lost in thought.
After a long while, “Wife, do you think there’s any chance of fixing that Apocalyptic System?”
She had considered this question herself.
Logically, if the system ca to save the Apocalypse, then its existence must be related to the current world.
Just like her and the Little Snake King; since they had signed a contract, it signified mutual dependence.
If their world hasn’t collapsed yet, then does it make sense for the system to be completely broken just because of Su Shu’s smash?
Could it be so easily broken?
With no possibility of repair?
She had thought about this a lot herself, without needing Tang Zelin to ntion it.
The reason she hesitated to experint was because of the bright red she saw that day.
Although her system had lost contact with the main control platform, the 1077 Apocalyptic Plane was inevitably tainted in so way.
And she was unsure of the impact that the affected part might have on the world.
Furthermore, the increasingly dire situation outside made her even more reluctant to act hastily.
At the very least, she needed to figure out what that terrifying red assault truly ant.
After listening to her explanation, Tang Zelin nodded slightly, “You’re right to consider these things.”
Without the Apocalyptic System, they were now cut off from the other Apocalyptic Planes, becoming an isolated world.
Despite the many unknown dangers of such an existence, there was one advantage: at least for now, they wouldn’t be disturbed by other planes.
Isolation sotis also ant independence.
Thinking this way, it didn’t seem like such a bad thing after all.
Tang Zelin asked, “I’ve noticed you’ve had a lot on your mind recently. What else are you thinking about? Take the opportunity to talk to tonight, and let’s see if there’s anything I can help with.”
Su Shu replied with a laugh, “Why are you being so nice to tonight?”
Tang Zelin smiled and playfully patted her, saying teasingly, “When have I ever not been good to you, you ungrateful little thing.”
“That’s true.”
Su Shu lay on her back, staring up at the ceiling, and thought.
There was an idea that had lingered in her mind for quite a long ti.
She hadn’t ntioned it to him because, aside from how busy he had been, it was also too dangerous.
