Chapter 678: Chapter 678: Stay or Leave!
The fox, having obtained verbal consent from its guardian, happily began its wonderful life as “the only dog in the military.”
As previously discussed, it stayed by Tang Zelin’s side.
Group 208 had no canine unit.
Qu Guo’an even took advantage of his work to exchange so items with the neighboring group for a military dog leash and a few other things, gleefully returning to put them on the fox.
The fox, having just regained its freedom from centuries of confinent, wouldn’t let itself be tethered by a leash again.
It ran around the entire field, adamantly refusing to be leashed.
Qu Guo’an and his soldiers chased after it, gasping for breath, but to no avail.
Another dog, however, strutted around proudly.
It seed as if the frenzied escape had been nothing, irritating the group of n to the point of itching teeth.
With a briefcase under his arm, Tang Zelin, just back from a eting in town, caught sight of the scene and his dark eyes twinkled.
“Fox! Co here!”
He shouted loudly, and Qu Guo’an and the others turned around to see the group captain returning. They then looked back at the distant ancestor strutting around.
As soon as the fox heard Tang Zelin’s call, it sprinted back, tail wagging furiously.
Qu Guo’an and the soldiers were dumbfounded, “Damn! This damn dog is so unprincipled!”
The fox, which had been giving them the runaround, suddenly switched sides and started fawning over the group captain?
Qu Guo’an walked over, tossed the leash to Tang Zelin, and said helplessly.
“You handle it. We can’t manage it.”
“Where’d you get it?”
“From Group 209, Pang Tong.”
Tang Zelin nodded, handed the docunts he was holding to Qu Guo’an, squatted down, and picked up the leash.
The fox stepped back, pressed its chin to the ground, and stuck out its tail, looking utterly defiant.
A group of soldiers, having caught their breath, crowded around and started saying, “Group Captain, the fox doesn’t want to wear it.”
“Exactly right. The Political Commissar tried to put it on earlier, and it nearly bit us.”
Everybody had sothing to say, and of course, so soldiers spoke up for the fox.
“But, it might be used to wandering, not used to wearing a leash around its neck, right? It’d be uncomfortable for us too if sothing were tied around our necks, right?”
The fox thought to itself, who’s been wandering? Who’s been wandering?
If anyone present truly understood the fox, it was none other than Tang Zelin.
Why it didn’t want to wear the leash, he certainly understood what the fox was thinking.
It was a fox with mana, highly perceptive, did it really need that foolish thing?
You could tell from the disdain in its eyes.
However, if it wanted to stay in the military, there were rules to follow.
He knew it understood everything, but that didn’t an others knew, let alone the ordinary people outside the military base.
Tang Zelin stared at it with a stern voice, “If you want to stay, you have to wear this, especially when leaving the military base. Otherwise, it will scare people. Think about it, if you don’t wear it, I’ll send you away.”
Send the fox away?!
Indeed, this wolfhound nad Fox was aptly nad.
The soldiers beca reluctant.
“Group Captain, if it really hates it, maybe don’t make it wear it? We could keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t go out aimlessly.”
“Yeah, Group Captain, the fox is so smart, it will surely obey in the future, let’s just not make it wear it.”
The soldiers who had just been chasing the fox, now pleading for it not to be leashed.
Tang Zelin, ignoring their pleas, only stared at the fox and said, “Either put it on and stay, or don’t and leave, the choice is yours.”
