After saying goodbye to Old Qu, Tang Zelin left the group headquarters.
He was on the road ho so his mood was much lighter than when he’d arrived.
The smile on his face hadn’t faded when he happened to et Bai Qinghuan, who was coming down from the hill to return to the hospital.
Initially, Tang Zelin didn’t notice.
It was Bai Qinghuan who, with sharp eyes, spotted the tall figure first.
“Group Captain Tang?”
Tang Zelin stopped, turned his head, and seeing a familiar face, looked again and smiled faintly.
“Bai Qinghuan?”
“It’s , have you returned, Group Captain Tang?”
Bai Qinghuan quickly descended a few steps, standing not far from Tang Zelin, and said with a smile, “Are you heading ho?”
Tang Zelin nodded, “Yes.”
“Is Sister Su Shu doing well?”
Upon hearing this, a strange flicker crossed Tang Zelin’s mind, fleeting.
“She’s fine; you can co over to our place when you have a chance.”
Polite yet cordial.
Bai Qinghuan laughed, “Yes, I will. You must be busy, Group Captain Tang, I’ll head back to the hospital first.”
Tang Zelin nodded.
After Bai Qinghuan left, he turned and continued up the hill, tilting his head slightly, looking in the direction from which Bai Qinghuan had co.

All the way up the hill, thinking about his wife on the hilltop and soone at the foothill, and despite claiming not to care, his expression wasn’t bright all the way up to his doorstep.
Su Shu wiped her hands on her apron, ca up to et him, and seeing Tang Zelin bringing in the cold from outside, her expression didn’t look quite right.
She couldn’t help but worry, “What’s wrong? Did sothing happen with the troops? You look awful.”
Had she not ntioned it, he wouldn’t have even noticed.
After Su Shu’s remark, Tang Zelin realized he had been sowhat overly concerned.
Looking down at the face before him, filled with concern for him, he slightly bent down and tenderly pecked Su Shu’s lips, switched to a gentle smile.
Su Shu raised an eyebrow, “One minute gloomy, the next sunny, are you hiding sothing big from ?”
“I just got back, what big thing could happen?”
Tang Zelin couldn’t help but chuckle, gently rubbed her head, and said, “I’m going to wash my face first.”
