Chapter 559: Chapter 560 Uncle, What Wishes Do You Have? Chapter 559: Chapter 560 Uncle, What Wishes Do You Have? Ji Dong sat in the hospital room, staring at the volu of the IV drip, while the lying Xiao’ai blinked at him.
Ji Dong pulled out a transparent little bag from his pocket, inside was the rock candy Xiao’ai always liked.
“Xiao’ai, do you want so rock candy?”
Xiao’ai obediently nodded her head.
The sick Xiao’ai was exceptionally well-behaved and developed a lot of dependency on the person taking care of her.
Ji Dong sat close by, sotis worried that the drip might be uncomfortably cold for the child, he would warm it up a bit with the heat of his palm.
Xiao’ai’s little hand quietly reached out towards Ji Dong.
Seeing the small hand reaching out to him, Ji Dong looked up at Xiao’ai and naturally covered her small hand with his larger one.
He smiled gently at the little girl, “What’s wrong? Are you in pain, or is there sothing you want?”
Xiao’ai shook her head, which Ji Dong couldn’t understand. He had not had much contact with children before and didn’t know what to be aware of when taking care of them.
Fortunately, Xiao’ai was quite sensible and didn’t fuss much.
He couldn’t quite explain whether it was for that reason that he liked her more.
He asked a few more questions and found that the little girl kept shaking her head.
“So you have sothing you want to tell ?”
At his words, Xiao’ai’s beautiful big eyes suddenly lit up.
Ji Dong chuckled inwardly, so she did have sothing to say to him, well then, go ahead.
“What do you want to tell Uncle?”
Xiao’ai stared at Ji Dong’s face, blinking her large eyes several tis.
“Uncle Ji, do you have any wishes?”
Huh?
Ji Dong had not expected that after waiting for so long, he would be greeted with such a question from the little girl. What did this an?
Asking him if he had any wishes, what did that have to do with anything?
After thinking a bit, Ji Dong asked, “Why would Xiao’ai think to ask Uncle if he has any wishes?”
There was a trace of struggle on Xiao’ai’s little face, as if unsure whether or not she should voice her thoughts.
Ji Dong stroked her head, coaxing her, “It’s okay, just say whatever you want.”
“Okay.”
“So what do you want to tell Uncle?”
“Because Uncle is going to die soon.”
The hand placed on her head suddenly paused.
Ji Dong frowned slightly, “Are you talking about ?”
Xiao’ai nodded.
“Who did you hear that from?”
Such words couldn’t possibly originate from a child herself, and having spent not a short ti with Xiao’ai, Ji Dong wondered if soone else might have said sothing.
Accidentally overheard by the child and imprinted in her heart.
Saying that he was going to die?
Why would such a claim arise out of nowhere?
Could it be that soone dangerous had infiltrated into City C?
In an instant, Ji Dong thought of many possibilities, most of which were related to public safety, yet he never considered what aning there might be behind Xiao’ai’s sudden declaration.
“Xiao’ai, such nonsense is what others blabber on about. We children don’t listen to the silly talk from adults, okay?”
“What Xiao’ai says is true.”
“There, there, Uncle Ji Dong will be fine, I must be here to keep you company, to bring you candy to eat. Xiao’ai is such a good girl, Uncle Ji Dong can’t bear to die.” Ji Dong patiently soothed the little friend speaking nonsense.
Xiao’ai blinked, “If Uncle has any wishes, Xiao’ai can help you.”
Ji Dong laughed, hearing the child say this reaffird in his heart that she must be talking nonsense.
Perhaps it was because of her illness. Otherwise, such a young child couldn’t fully understand what death ans.
And Ji Dong kept rationalizing in his mind.
