Chapter 154: Chapter 153: An Apocalyptic Life from Scratch (27)
Perhaps because children speak easily, the mothers with children didn’t go that way, and a group of n were also reluctant to move forward.
There, not too far from him, she tried to find a more suitable spot elsewhere, but found none.
“Xiao’ai, uncle is sleeping. Let’s not disturb him. How about auntie plays gas with you over there?”
Xiao’ai nodded her head.
The two of them sat down quietly in the moderately cool shade, with a thick mat prepared by Su Shu placed under Xiao’ai.
Not far behind them was the Military Officer who was resting.
The two were playing a card ga, a derivative toy from an animated series, which Xiao’ai liked very much, and she would play a couple of rounds with her every now and then.
In the quiet ga and the gentle breeze, the weather was incredibly rare.
Away from the noise of the front yard, it was much quieter here.
While they were playing, Su Shu’s mobile phone suddenly rang.
She started, quickly pulled out her phone, and pressed the mute button, fearing to wake the officers resting nearby.
An unfamiliar phone number, who could it be?
When she left, she seed to have told the Luo family brothers to call her if needed. Well, it might be them.
“Xiao’ai, Auntie is going to take a call over there. Stay here and be good, don’t move, I’ll watch you from there.” She pointed to a position to the left and slightly further from the sleeping officer but within sight of Xiao’ai.
Xiao’ai nodded.
Su Shu took her mobile phone to the side: “Hello, yes.”
“Where are you now?”
From the receiver, a sudden low and impatient male voice erged.
Shen Han?
Su Shu frowned, and under the pressure of the other party raising his voice again, she replied, “Is sothing the matter? If not, I’m hanging up.”
“Su Shu! Cut it out, tell , where are you now? C-city? Where, ho, or… sowhere else? I can’t get away right now, but you tell your location, and I’ll co to find you in a couple of days.”
“No need, you go about your business, I’ll go about mine. Don’t call again.”
“Su Shu, listen to , tell where you are now. Don’t just wander around; C-city is very dangerous right now. Stay there and wait for .”
“Shen Han, I said you don’t need to co over…”
She hadn’t finished her sentence when the other party hung up first. What the hell!
An unwarranted call, totally spoiling her mood. Why does Shen Han have to be everywhere? Is it because after the rebirth, the heavens thought she was having too comfortable of a life?
How could she possibly tell him where she was and that she would wait for him. Forget it.
Why should she wait for him? Even if she were to wait, the person she wanted to wait for wasn’t him!
Annoying.
“Waiting for a call?”
Behind her, a deep voice sounded.
Su Shu turned around only to see the Military Officer taking off the hat on his face and looking towards her.
Su Shu’s complexion slightly embarrassed, she walked over apologetically, “I’m sorry for disturbing your rest, please continue sleeping, I’ll take the child and leave right away.”
“No need, I’ve had enough sleep.” The Military Officer yawned, sat up, tilted his head and saw Xiao’ai’s legs curled up like a little atball, playing cards with her head down, looking cute and endearing, inevitably bringing a smile to one’s face. Unfortunately, his facial features were cold and harsh, though handso, they carried a bit of sharpness; even his smile felt aloof.
Su Shu had disturbed soone else’s rest, and with Shen Han’s sudden appearance, she felt inexplicably annoyed.
Yet unexpectedly, as she was about to take Xiao’ai away, Xiao’ai suddenly extended her hand and handed the deck of cards to the young Military Officer.
The officer was also taken aback, but after the surprise, he graciously accepted them.
This wasn’t the only thing that surprised Su Shu.
What surprised her even more was that the officer moved directly from his resting spot to the spot where Su Shu had been sitting and started playing the card ga with Xiao’ai.
