The night was heavy.

However, beneath the silence of tonight lay a tension even greater than usual, as many families who had been inspired by Su Lin and decided to upgrade their safe houses were now anxiously waiting for the first test of the beast tide.
Su Lin and Su Tongxi sat closely together on the sofa, their eyes fixed on the clock on the wall.

Outside the courtyard gate, the roar of the Shadow Beast was already audible, accompanied by the dull piercing sound of the Earth Spike chanism.
Imdiately afterwards, a deafening boom resounded as the reinforced "Swinging Wooden Hamr" swung full force for the first ti!
A giant spiked wooden pile smashed towards the short corridor at the courtyard gate with formidable force, then swung heavily back into place.
The first wave of beast tide at the Level 3 Safe House still comprised of a hundred Shadow Beasts.
Su Lin stood with folded arms at the doorway, waiting for a short while...
The battle was over.
An uncontrollable smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.
No way...?
Simply modifying the entrance, not a single one of these hundred Shadow Beasts managed to break through the first checkpoint?
They didn’t even make it into the courtyard?!
Witnessing this, Su Tongxi joyfully tugged at his sleeve, "Brother Kirin!"
Su Lin finally laughed aloud, turned back into the house, grabbed the Waist Lamp and hooked it up, waving his hand, "Let’s go collect the Shadow Cores!"

The second wave of beast tide increased to two hundred.
Only a few Shadow Beasts, through luck or their companions’ corpses, managed to pass the short corridor’s combination of "Earth Spike Swinging Wooden Hamr" from above and below.
However, as soon as they stepped into the courtyard, they found themselves trapped in the muddy depths of the reinforced Sli Floor, unable to move, and were soon rendered into pincushions by the Arrow Wall.
At ten o’clock, the third wave of beast tide arrived.
More Shadow Beasts relied on sheer numbers, forcefully breaking through the courtyard gate’s defense, and flooded into the first checkpoint’s Sli Zone, ultimately falling to the dense volleys from the Arrow Wall.
The moonlight quietly parted the clouds, casting its gentle glow over the courtyard like a veil.
Su Lin fetched a chair, and with Su Tongxi in his arms, sat watching the battle leisurely.
The Hand Crossbow lay idle to the side, not a single shot fired.
The fourth wave brought four hundred Shadow Beasts surging forth.
They stepped on the bodies of the beasts that hadn’t fully decomposed in the Sli Zone, struggling their way to the second checkpoint.
What greeted them was once again the thrust of Earth Spikes and the baptism of Arrow Wall, ultimately turning into a ss of hedgehog corpses.
The fifth wave maintained the count at five hundred.
The outco bore no difference from the previous waves.
As ti reached eleven-thirty, the last wave of beast tide finally arrived.
Su Lin’s expression beca solemn as he rose to stand firmly.
Su Tongxi slid from his embrace, gripping tightly the Reinforced Hand Crossbow customized by Su Lin for her, nervously watching the outside of the courtyard.
In a Level 3 Safe House compared to Level 2, the total number of Shadow Beasts only increased by half, but the most lethal threat lay in the inevitably appearing Boss-level Shadow Beast in the last wave!
Its power was comparable to a Flesh Lock Martial Artist, and due to its thick hide and tough flesh, even a Flesh Lock Martial Artist would struggle to kill it easily, often requiring effort from a Tendon Lock Martial Artist, unless wielding a powerful weapon.
At this mont, a daunting black tide had already gathered outside the courtyard gate.
At the crest of the tide stood a six-ter-tall giant ape on all fours!
Its entire body was covered with ink-black fur, and a row of bone spikes jutted from its back, its colossal body resembling a moving mountain, blocking the courtyard gate tightly.
A pair of crimson giant eyes pierced through layers of chanical defenses, locking firmly onto the innermost Su Lin.
"Roar——!!!"
The giant ape released a deafening roar skyward, its sound waves impinging on the courtyard walls like a tangible force!
An aura of terror erupted around it, launching a fierce charge at the courtyard gate!
Su Lin’s pupils contracted!
With the Swinging Wooden Hamr smashing toward it with a whooshing sound, the giant ape boldly swung one giant palm wrapped in a malicious gust!
Boom!
Amidst the screeching sound of twisted iron, the frightful iron spikes on the wooden pile were forcefully shattered and flung away!
The montum of the colossal hamr was forcibly halted by this brute strike!
Pff-ch! Pff-ch!
The reinforced Earth Spikes inside the short corridor instantly popped up, countless sharp tal blades puncturing the giant ape’s huge body, leaving a multitude of wounds, blood gushing forth.
However, for the giant ape’s mountain-like physique, these wounds, though painful, were far from fatal, instead completely enraging it!
The giant ape, in pain, furiously beat its solid chest, producing a deep-drum-like thudding sound.
Subsequently, it swung its colossal fists like driving piles, hamring once more towards the Earth Spikes within the short corridor!
Crunch! Crunch!
One by one, the robust tal spikes broke and twisted under the huge force!
As the giant ape was demolishing the short corridor’s defenses, the swarm of Shadow Beast, like locusts flooding through an area, seized the opportunity of the Swinging Wooden Hamr being restrained and the Earth Spike being damaged, crazily rushing into the courtyard gate beside the giant ape!
The sixth wave of beast tide, a horrific torrent of six hundred Shadow Beasts, finally broke through the first gate!
Within the short corridor, the Earth Spikes continued to tenaciously reap lives, the fallen bodies of Shadow Beasts quickly piling up.
Yet the surging beast cluster seed endless, stepping over their companions’ corpses, charging into the courtyard one after another!
Pff-ch! Pff-ch!
The Shadow Beasts stepping into the courtyard first instantly sank into the swampy depths of the reinforced Sli Floor, their limbs firmly glued, even beginning to gradually sink.
The following beasts trampling over them only hastened their subrsion.
The reinforced Arrow Wall on both sidewalls roared with the fury of warships firing simultaneously!
A downpour of arrows, like a tal storm, instantly cleared a large swath of charging beast tide!
The air was thick with the stench of blood.
But the beast tide’s impact didn’t halt! The subsequent Shadow Beasts, stepping over pools of blood and corpses, roared their way through the Sli Zone, barging into the second checkpoint’s crossfire of reinforced Earth Spikes and Arrow Wall!
The Earth Spikes unfeelingly jabbed from the ground, while the Arrow Wall continued pouring arrows wildly, relentlessly reaping lives.
Finally, so Shadow Beasts managed, through sheer speed or luck, to charge through the deadly zone of the second checkpoint, stepping on the third checkpoint, the Ejection Floor in front of the house!
Bzzzz——!
The powerful spring instantly activated!
The ground sprang up like a living creature!
The charging Shadow Beasts were catapulted into the air like dumplings, tracing chaotic arcs, then crash landing back into the Earth Spike Zone or farther in the Sli Zone, and even outside the courtyard!
A brief "Shadow Beast rain" fell from the sky!
By the ti the Shadow Beasts reached this point, their numbers had drastically dwindled by hundreds!
Nonetheless, Su Lin’s ticulously arranged defenses were far from concluded.
The Impact Wall installed beside the house door on the wall, like a crouched beast, remained charged, steadfast in guarding the safe house’s final line of defense.
