Chapter 49: Chapter 45: Tier One chanism

Zhong Wubin was contemplating how to fra the Su Family when, as soon as Chang Sanheng died, he imdiately set his sights on forming an alliance with the Su Family.

Even though the murder of all thirteen mbers of the Chang Family might very likely have been orchestrated by the Su Family, he was completely indifferent.

"Old Su, I respect you as an elder of the village and our Hunting Group’s forr leader. But Chang Sanheng was the captain of Team 1, after all! Despite his many faults, just the day before yesterday he was gravely injured protecting the villagers. How could you...!"

Zhong Wubin’s tone was filled with sorrow, as if he were bloodily lanting injustice for Chang Sanheng.

He seed to be accusing the Su Family, yet he restrained his "grief and indignation," putting on a guise of considering the big picture.

Su Can’s face was icy: "You can say whatever you like! You might as well throw all the filth at ! If it’s not

who did it, then I didn’t do it! That is the fact!"

Zhong Wubin’s eyes were bloodshot, staring intently at him.

Su Can did not retreat, his gaze sharp like lightning, eting him head-on.

Their eyes fierce in combat, the pressure was akin to a battle of dragons and tigers, creating an invisible tension that caused others to hold their breath.

Zhao Yaxin suppressed her discomfort, speaking coldly:

"Squad Leader Zhong, why are you so certain that my Su Family is responsible? Isn’t Black Scale Village even more suspicious? You can’t deny that the injury to Captain Chang and Team 2 being attacked by mutant beast hordes at the periter might have been orchestrated by Black Scale Village?"

Zhong Wubin’s eyelid twitched, vehently denying: "Impossible! Absolutely impossible that it’s Black Scale Village!"

Su Can’s old eyes narrowed slightly, a chill flashing:

"What makes you so sure? Why do you ignore Black Scale Village’s suspicion and directly point the finger at my Su Family? Just because Chang Sanheng set a trap with a piece of Treasure at to fra , do you think I had to kill his entire family? Or is it..."

The old man unexpectedly leaned forward, his aura like a dormant fierce tiger awakening suddenly, exuding formidable hostility:

"Do you think I’m an old sick tiger that can be bullied?!"

Zhong Wubin felt a chill in his heart, hastily replying: "How dare I!"

Although he wished to weaken the Su Family to control the village, he would never want to risk everything fighting this notoriously reckless old man.

Su Can was not just a "sick tiger," but an "old tiger," not worth the trouble.

His thoughts raced, carefully considering his words:

"To be honest, I’ve learned of Black Scale Village’s recent moves. They’re currently fully focused on preparing for next week’s Shunfeng Travel Group transaction, not having the energy to co after us."

"Shunfeng Travel Group?" Su Can’s gaze sharpened.

"That’s right!"

Zhong Wubin leaned forward, drawing closer to Su Can, and lowered his voice: "It’s said that Shunfeng Travel Group is bringing a star product this ti!"

Su Can’s gaze sharpened: "Star product?"

Zhong Wubin’s face grew serious, speaking slowly, "A Tier One chanism!"

Actually, this was information he had only received within the past couple of days, but to validate the lie that Black Scale Village couldn’t have been behind the plot, he had to share it freely with the Su Family.

At this point, Zhong Wubin felt the sting of loss.

This was the secret intelligence he had struggled to acquire!

But it was remarkably effective too.

Su Can and Zhao Yaxin gasped in unison, their eyes filled with astonishnt at the news!

A Tier One chanism!

What does that an?

It ans even the weakest Skin Lock Martial Artist, with this device, could safely endure a Level 5 Safe House beast tide!

Its value, at the village level, is even rarer and harder to co by than a First-Transford Martial Artist!

Zhong Wubin seized the mont: "Black Scale Village is devoting all its resources to hunting the wild for this chanism, frantically amassing wealth. They have no capacity to trouble us."

Su Can’s expression fluctuated: "Then how do you explain the mutant beast leader and hordes appearing on the periter?"

Zhong Wubin pondered: "Perhaps... surrounding villages, having caught wind of the news, are flooding the wilderness, resulting in ecological imbalance."

He managed to neatly tie up everything!

And Su Can knew his family inside and out, his grandson had just confessed to him this morning that he was the one who killed the Chang Family.

Considering this...

Zhong Wubin’s "explanation" actually made perfect sense?

His face went ashen then pale.

And as for Zhong Wubin?

He also coveted the Tier One chanism, but promoting his own strength was far more critical!

As long as he had sufficient strength, why worry about obtaining treasures?

With Chang Sanheng dead, he urgently needed the Su Family to fill his position, to further the goal of rging with Black Scale Village with a stronger stance.

In that case, the Treasure at would be his, the chanism would be Black Scale’s, and as long as he could advance one transformation, the situation would be secure!

Everything else didn’t matter!

Chang Sanheng’s death, the demise of a captain-level figure, greatly weakened the village’s strength.

Yet it also beca his perfect excuse for morally pressuring Su Can in the na of the "big picture."

As for the fact that Yun Village already has a First-Transford Genetic Martial Artist...

He’s refraining from ntioning it for now.

Though it’s a greater pressure, what he fears more is the Su Family might act desperately, abandon the safe house, and relocate the entire family to Yun Village.

This is not impossible.

Because the Su Family originally ca to this village in that very way!

Yes, compared to Zhong Wubin, it’s the Su Family that is truly the later cor!

At this mont, Su Lin who had been Hidden by the doorway, his eyes turning, quietly slipped out.

Except Zhao Yaxin who discreetly glanced at him, no one else noticed.

After a long silence.

Su Can spoke again, his voice ice-cold, laced with deep sarcasm:

"You’ve said so much, going in circles, ultimately is to pin the blood debt of the Chang Family’s massacre on the Su Family, right? So what now? What do you want?"

Zhong Wubin leaned back, feigning exhaustion, letting out a long sigh:

"Old Su, as for Chang Sanheng’s rits, he has contributed greatly to our village, but... alas, I feel I’ve let him down."

He rubbed his temples, appearing extrely burdened:

"But the situation now is dangerous, I don’t have the energy to pursue the real culprit.

"The Shunfeng Travel Group matter has too many unknowns, the imdiate priority is for the village to secure a Level 5 Safe House to cope with changes."

"Heh!" Su Can sneered, his fingers striking heavily on the Eight Immortals Table, producing a dull sound, "Just say what you truly an!"

"Cooperation!"

Zhong Wubin suddenly stood up with both palms on the table, leaning forward, a determined look in his eyes as he spoke to Su Can with an undeniable tone:

"For the sake of the big picture, I ask the Su Family to put aside their grievances towards , and together..."

At this critical mont!

Before he could finish speaking, a commotion arose outside the door!

Su Lin led the charge, bursting through the door!

Behind him followed a large group of alard, chattering villagers.

Su Lin ignored Zhong Wubin and his entourage’s instant darkening expressions, as well as the surprised looks from his grandfather and sister-in-law.

He took a deep breath, raised his voice, overpowering all the chaotic discussions:

"Everyone co in! Co in and judge! Shouldn’t Squad Leader Zhong set aside his grievances towards my Su Family, joining forces with us for the sake of the big picture—"

He raised his hand, pointing straight at Zhong Wubin, speaking solemnly and forcefully:

"To hunt the Lord together!"

Zhong Wubin was caught unprepared, startled by the sudden situation and questioning, causing him to stumble back in shock!
