Chapter 30: If You Won’t Save Us, Then You Won’t Survive Either!

Gulp …

Sitting on the single bed, Jiang Cheng took out the [Primary Neural Reflex Enhancer] and drank it in one gulp. Suddenly, his body stiffened as if a thunderbolt had struck his mind, leaving it completely blank!

However, just like when he drank the Strength Enhancer before, this sensation was intense but fleeting.

After ten seconds, as the blankness in his mind disappeared, an unprecedented sense of clarity and refreshnt surged through him like a spring, spreading instantly throughout his body.

He couldn’t help but want to shout out.

“Aweso!!”

At that mont, he could distinctly feel the changes in his body after consuming the [Primary Neural Reflex Enhancer] and having his nerve response attribute increased by 20 points, almost reaching four tis that of a normal person.

Moreover, he noticed that his thinking had also transford. The events of last night were now much clearer in his mind.

For instance, he could now ntally visualize a three-dinsional map of the surrounding apartnt buildings outside the supermarket. Additionally, he could recall the route they had taken with perfect clarity. In fact, his mind had already precisely selected the best route out of Huorong District from the several options provided by Jarvis.

At the sa ti, the plan he had been formulating last night beca even more refined and clear!

This sensation was nothing short of miraculous!

At that mont, he suddenly made a new discovery regarding his upcoming plan!

Initially, he had intended to leave the supermarket directly with Liu Yuqing after lunch, disregarding the surrounding survivors. But now, he realized there was a hidden danger in his plan!

The surrounding survivors!

Their emotions!

When people were on the brink of despair, they were capable of doing anything!

Those survivors he had ignored, who had been pleading for help for so long without any response from him, and who would now watch him drive away in an armored vehicle, ignoring their pleas—these people were not going to let him leave so easily!

“If I’m not mistaken, when I prepare to leave, they will definitely try to stop ! They will create trouble for ! They will try to kill !”

As Jiang Cheng sat on the bed, a sharp glint flashed in his eyes.

“And the only way they can cause trouble for right now … is through the zombies outside.”

He recalled that the apartnt building that had experienced the disturbance last night still had an evolved zombie inside!

If that zombie were to sohow escape onto the street, it could indeed pose a significant threat to him. Although the chances of it getting out were slim, it wasn’t sothing he could ignore.

As he pondered this, Jiang Cheng walked out of the rest area, glanced at Liu Yuqing, who was still engrossed in the training thods, and decided not to disturb her. Instead, he went to the window and looked out at the street in front of the supermarket.

“Hmm? A fuel tanker?”

Suddenly, a fuel tanker that had overturned on what he had identified as the optimal escape route caught his attention. A new plan began to form in his mind, causing the corners of his mouth to curl up slightly.

At 11 a.m., with a new plan in mind, Jiang Cheng woke up Liu Yuqing, who was still absorbed in the training thods.

“It’s getting late; we should get going.”

“Oh, right. Okay.”

Liu Yuqing snapped back to reality, checked the ti, and realized it was already 11 o’clock. She nodded in agreent.

She shouldered the large backpack she had already packed with a few sets of clothes and a thin blanket and followed Jiang Cheng as they left the fifth floor together.

On the fourth floor, Jiang Cheng carried the portable refrigerator he had taken from the appliance section earlier—a 50-liter unit asuring 40 centiters in width and length and 80 centiters in height—into the fourth-floor market. He filled it with fresh at and vegetables until it was full, then returned to the stairwell to continue downward with Liu Yuqing.

They passed the third floor, where the cinema was located, without stopping.

When they reached the second floor, Jiang Cheng asked Liu Yuqing to grab two power strips before they headed to the restroom window.

However, just as they were about to climb out the window and get into the armored vehicle, sothing unexpected happened!

Bang!!

A glass bottle suddenly fell from the sky, shattering on the street dozens of ters away from them, sending shards flying. The noise, though not very loud, was like a bolt of lightning in the otherwise silent street, shattering the tranquility.

So of the zombies, which had been hiding in dark places and buildings due to the sunlight, began to erge.

“Grrrr … Grrrr …”

“Raaah … Raaah …”

“Roooar …”

These zombies, growling and snarling, erged from nearby dark corners. Upon spotting Jiang Cheng and Liu Yuqing, they imdiately charged toward them. However, their speed seed noticeably slower than it had been at night.

“Jiang Cheng …”

The sudden change in the situation startled Liu Yuqing.

Glancing at the shattered bottle and the zombies slowly closing in, the coldness in Jiang Cheng’s eyes remained unchanged.

As expected!

He quickly scanned the surrounding apartnt buildings.

In just two seconds, thanks to his heightened nerve response and sharp perception, he identified the culprit. The bottle had been thrown by a man with a face full of fat, who was living on the seventeenth floor of the apartnt building closest to the supermarket!

The man even had two more bottles in his hands!

And when the man noticed that Jiang Cheng had spotted him, instead of hiding! he grinned maliciously, raised a middle finger at Jiang Cheng, and then tossed the other two bottles down.

The look on his face seed to say, “Co and get if you can!”

Bang!

Bang!

The two bottles shattered on the ground, drawing the attention of even more zombies!

“Grrrr … Grrrr …”

“Raaaah …”

“Roooar … Grrrr …”

At that mont, the other survivors in the surrounding apartnt and office buildings, who had been watching Jiang Cheng and Liu Yuqing’s every move from their windows, began to react as well.

After all, yesterday, Jiang Cheng had driven that eye-catching, extrely safe-looking vehicle into the area, made a huge commotion, and spent the entire morning moving supplies that they desperately needed.

It was hard not to be attracted!

They had been watching Jiang Cheng closely, hoping he would save them. But despite their repeated pleas for help, Jiang Cheng had ignored them, not even sparing them a glance, leaving them in utter despair.

People would go mad when faced with despair!

The bottle thrown by that middle-aged man was the spark that lit the fuse!

The other survivors began to lose control as well, just as Jiang Cheng had predicted, grabbing whatever they could find and throwing it out of their windows.

Their goal was simple!

If you won’t save us, then you won’t survive either!

They wanted to alert all the zombies in the area, hoping Jiang Cheng and Liu Yuqing would die at their hands!
