Chapter 17: Did This Zombie Take Drugs? Why Is Its Head So Hard?
“Jarvis, calculate how long it will take for the zombies outside to rush to the door.” After deciding on a course of action, Jiang Cheng spoke again, addressing Jarvis.
“Sir, approximately seventeen seconds!” Jarvis replied.
Seventeen seconds …
That’s too little ti, but fortunately, it’s not too pressing for him.
“The electric rolling shutter takes at least ten seconds to close, which ans that after opening the iron gate at the first-floor stairwell, I must deal with the eight zombies inside the supermarket within seven seconds!”

However, to be on the safe side, he turned to Liu Yuqing and said, “When I open the iron gate on the first floor later, don’t worry about anything else. Just go and close the electric rolling shutter. Leave the zombies to .”

The two of them carefully descended the stairs to the first floor, arriving at the iron gate.
Jiang Cheng pulled Liu Yuqing along and pressed themselves against the wall at the first-floor stairwell, cautiously poking his head out to observe the exact positions of the eight zombies through the iron gate.
To avoid alerting them prematurely, he didn’t shoot the zombies through the gate with the nail gun.
Instead, he quietly unlocked the gate with a key, then gestured a countdown of three, two, one to Liu Yuqing before suddenly pulling open the gate and charging out together with her!
Clatter, clatter—
“Hrrr … Hrrr …”
“Grrooo …”
At that mont, the noise from the gate being pulled open instantly attracted the attention of the eight zombies inside the supermarket. Their bloodshot eyes stared at them, their mouths dripping with filthy blood, and they snarled as they charged towards them with terrifying ferocity.

At this point, the remaining three zombies almost simultaneously lunged at him. But Jiang Cheng remained calm, retracting the short knife and delivering a powerful kick that sent the middle zombie flying.
Then, he leaned back to avoid the attacks of the other two zombies.

In an instant, Jiang Cheng twisted his body and raised the nail gun, pulling the trigger repeatedly to blow the heads off the two zombies that had missed him and were now behind him.
By this ti, the zombie he had kicked had already gotten back up and was charging at him from behind.

There weren’t many nails left in the nail gun, but Jiang Cheng didn’t hesitate, pulling the trigger repeatedly to fire off the remaining nails.

However, sothing unexpected happened. The first two zombies were fine, as the nails from the nail gun pierced their heads, killing them instantly.
But the last one, the two-ter-tall burly man, only had half the nail embedded in his head.
It couldn’t penetrate his skull and therefore couldn’t kill him!
“Did this zombie take drugs? Why is its head so hard?”
Jiang Cheng frowned but didn’t waste ti pondering. He swiftly stepped forward and delivered a powerful kick, sending the zombie crashing to the ground. In the next mont, he followed up with the short knife, driving it through the zombie’s eye socket to finish him off.
Clang!
At that mont, the sound of the rolling shutter hitting the ground echoed from behind him.
“Phew … it worked!”
Turning around to confirm that the door had successfully closed, Jiang Cheng breathed a sigh of relief.
Next, he just needed to take care of those seven on the fifth floor to complete the final step!
