Chapter 48: Superpower
Li Ran knew that it would be very difficult for others to believe Fang Qiu’s words.
If she did not have access to the mysterious space, she would not have believed it either.
Going through walls was simply impossible.
However, if she had so kind of superpower, soone else might as well.
“Leave this matter to . I will investigate it. I’ve known Cui Chong for a period of ti, so I might be able to figure out his location.”
As Li Ran spoke, she looked at Fang Qiu. A sign that she was giving her a chance.
“If you redeem yourself, then you can stay here.”
Fang Lin looked at Li Ran without blinking. For so reason, he felt relieved.
He asked in a soft tone, “Why do you trust her so much?”
Li Ran smiled.
“Anything is possible. I also trust your soldiers. They couldn’t have done it”
Fang Lin looked very surprised.
“How are you so sure?”
“Do you want to know why?”
“Of course.”
“From the looks of it, this place is relatively safe. The soldiers have no reason to betray you and risk getting kicked out from the base. Moreover, there were a lot of supplies in the warehouse. For soone to steal it, they need a lot of subordinates and be very organized. If your soldiers had stolen the supplies, why would they still be here? This place is empty. They have no reason to continue listening to your commands, right?”
Fang Lin clapped his hands and looked at Lin Nan.
“Obviously I think so too, but the other reasoning provided is too ridiculous. I can’t believe it.”
Lin Nan chid in, “There’s another possibility. A few soldiers have defected. They might be assisting Cui Chong. After all, he has the ability to lure people. This is more likely what had happened.”
Li Ran nodded and said, “You’re right. We can separate into two groups for the investigation. Would that be okay?”
“Sure. I’ll investigate with you. Fang Lin is capable of doing it himself.”
Fang Lin rubbed his nose and said cynically, “You’ve never trusted before and always remind of everything. Sister-in-law, you have no idea how annoyed I am with him.”
“Alright. Let’s just deal with this matter as quickly as possible. If we can’t find the supplies by tomorrow, we will be in a difficult spot.”
Fang Lin knew that they were pressed for ti, so he imdiately left with his soldiers.
There were more than a thousand people at the safety base.
Li Ran thought about the mysterious space. She had so supplies there but it definitely would not be enough.
For a brief mont, she admired Cui Chong. It was impressive that he and his subordinates could move so many things in just one night. Such a large warehouse was emptied.
Li Ran then let out a sigh and mumbled to herself, “Maybe he’s not the only one who has the ability?”
Lin Nan heard her clearly. He looked at his wife with a puzzled face and asked, “What ability? To go through walls?”
“Well, moving so many things in one night is definitely not an easy task. It’s impossible to be done by one person, right?”
Li Ran thought about the issue seriously. The last ti she saw him, Cui Chong was still very energetic. It did not seem like he had worked all night.
“We don’t have many clues. Strange things could have happened. Anything is possible.”
Lin Nan did not instantly dismiss Li Ran’s point of view.
However, he hoped that there was a more reasonable explanation.
They were in a critical situation and the most important thing is to resolve this matter as soon as possible.
Lin Nan and his soldiers scoured for half a month’s worth of supplies before they even began to recruit people. At first, it was quite chaotic. However, thanks to his leadership, they managed to operate everything in an orderly manner. People were divided into groups and they carried out tasks to ensure each other’s survival.
They consud a lot of supplies every day. Things beca more scarce and difficult to find.
Proper rationing was their only option. Otherwise, they would all be starving.
Li Ran waved at Fang Qiu and asked, “Is there anything in Cui Chong’s previous camp?”
“That place has been abandoned. So zombies managed to break in. Otherwise, Cui Chong would not have left. The geographical location isn’t good either.”
Fang Qiu gave an honest answer.
“I’m not sure where else he could be but there is a villa area nearby. It’s where his house is located.”
