Breakfast hasn't been eaten yet; Lu Xi'an and Yao Wei decide to find a place to eat first.

They drive to the banks of the Muddy Wave River — obviously far from the place where shots were fired before — and, after confirming there's no danger around, they start a fire to cook.

The peregrine falcon killed yesterday is still on the car roof, now joined by a tiger. They plan to roast so of the at and dry so for later, not to waste any.

In the previous life, peregrine falcons were level-two protected animals, and tigers were level-one protected animals — hunting and eating them were cris.

But in today's world, wasting resources is the biggest cri.

Lu Xi'an has to adjust his mindset, which he already has, and he starts a fire with Yao Wei to prepare the food.

Plucking feathers, skinning, removing innards, cutting the at into pieces, washing them in water, and roasting over a fire— the two work seamlessly with clear division of labor.

Finally, Lu Xi'an also cleans the tiger skin, thinking it can be put to so use.

A picture of Monkey Sun flashes in his mind, and he jokingly asks Yao Wei, "Should I make a tiger-skin skirt for you?"

Yao Wei, confused, asks, "What's that?"

Lu Xi'an responds, "It's a skirt made from tiger skin. Don't you know skirts?"

Yao Wei says, "I know, but I already have pants. I'm not used to wearing skirts; it affects movent."

"All right then."

Lu Xi'an smiles and gives up the idea.

Imagining Yao Wei dressed like Monkey Sun is indeed quite out of place.

Although the tiger is thin, its skin is quite large, and Lu Xi'an thinks he might try to turn it into a coat, sothing to keep warm when the weather turns cold.

Thanks to various attempts and practice since crossing to this world, and the strong control over his body granted by being a Type A Neo-Human, Lu Xi'an's sewing skills have greatly improved.

Lu Xi'an is confident he can cut the tiger skin into a coat, but that's for later.

Now, what he needs to do is dry the washed tiger skin.

Taking advantage of the gentle wind and warm sun, he spreads the cleaned tiger skin on the car roof to dry.

— Unfortunately, there are no trees around here, otherwise, he could have made a drying rack from one.

The tiger bones and innards set aside by Yao Wei also catch Lu Xi'an's notice, and among them, he finds a tiger whip.

In the previous life, so health enthusiasts talked about tiger bone wine or tiger whip wine, but Lu Xi'an has no such hobbies and doesn't know how to make them.

Now, looking at these things, he has no appetite at all.

Just thinking about Yao Wei's excellent frugality, he frets a bit — since she's already grilling the at, does this an the innards should be prepared too?

However, after waiting for a while, while watching the tiger skin on the car roof and Yao Wei grilling, she doesn't seem to bother with the innards.

So he can't help but ask, "Should these innards be roasted or boiled to eat?"

To his surprise, Yao Wei shakes her head, saying, "The innards of carnivores taste very gay and can make you feel uncomfortable; eating too much can cause nosebleeds."

"If food is really scarce, I would cook these things too. But since our food supply is quite ample now, it's better not to eat these poor-quality ats."

Lu Xi'an is slightly surprised — he didn't expect Yao Wei would weigh the pros and cons and give up so food. Is she influenced by him?

But he hasn't been wasteful either.

Well, it doesn't matter — Yao Wei is just making an occasional judgnt, and it's not wasting; it's simply reducing the harm to her body.

She interprets inflammation as harm caused by special diets, which makes sense in a way.

Thus, Lu Xi'an and Yao Wei leave the bones and innards alone and quietly sit waiting for their at to be roasted.

First done is the bird at. The plucked, skinned, and cleaned peregrine falcon has been skewered by Yao Wei, and while the at is slightly tough, it tastes quite good.

Yao Wei first pulls off a wing and hands it to Lu Xi'an; she pulls one too, and they each eat their share before splitting the bird legs.

The rest isn't easy to split, but that's not a problem for them — they just each take turns having a bite.

Once they finish the bird, the tiger at is almost done.

The taste of tiger at is different from the peregrine falcon — a bit sweet and sour, tough and hard, certainly not pleasant.

Not to ntion the innards, Lu Xi'an feels the at itself also tastes a bit gay, making one wonder how gay the innards might be.

Moreover, apart from taste and texture, its appearance is challenging.

So parts of the at look normal, but many areas appear purple-black through the red, seeming poisonous, making it unappetizing.

"In the future, let's not waste effort on this type of at; it's best to hunt sothing tastier."

Having finished a piece of at, Lu Xi'an suggests to Yao Wei.

Yao Wei nods, saying, "Um."

It's the sa as always, transitioning from frugality to luxury is easy, but from luxury back to frugality is tough.

In the past, when food was scarce, Yao Wei wouldn't easily miss any prey she encountered, but now, with ample resources and a rich food reserve, her taste buds are protesting against the abuse by inferior foods.

The sa goes for Lu Xi'an.

This barbecue feast, in the end, is simply because "having killed them all," it seems a waste to throw it away.

Anyway, as they eat, they find they have no mind to dry the remaining at and turn it into food reserve.

The dried at can be preserved longer, but it typically tastes worse than freshly roasted.

Now, Lu Xi'an and Yao Wei can hardly tolerate the fresh ones, so how could they endure the ones with worse taste and texture?

"Let's just endure and finish eating it, don't dry it out?"

After eating another piece of at, Lu Xi'an suggested this to Yao Wei.

Yao Wei nodded again, saying, "Okay."

Fortunately, after surviving in this world for so long, both were quite able to endure hardship. The at was already roasted, and wasting it would be a pity, so they forced themselves to eat it despite its poor taste.

After finishing, Lu Xi'an felt rather uncomfortable and took two carrots, washed them clean, and gave one to Yao Wei, gnawing on them raw.

To be honest, in his previous life, he didn't like carrots, whether raw or cooked.

Compared to other vegetables, the taste and texture of carrots were far from good, and given other options, he would definitely not choose them.

But now, after finishing the tiger at and biting into a carrot, Lu Xi'an only felt sweet and crisp, unusually delicious.

The murky air in his mouth was quickly suppressed, and the carrot surprisingly brought a breath of freshness.

"How is it?"

Lu Xi'an asked.

Yao Wei nodded, saying, "Delicious."

Yes, delicious, truly delicious.

On one hand, in contrast with the tiger at, on the other, how long has it been since they last ate fresh vegetables?

This fresh food had water content, cool and sweet, far better than dehydrated vegetables.

Eating should be like this, a feast for the taste buds and stomach. Struggling to swallow previously hard-to-chew tiger at, what was that about!

Lu Xi'an chewed each bite well, reluctant to swallow, taking his ti with each mouthful.

Yao Wei was the sa, enjoying the current state.

She used to never be like this.

Once, for her, eating was just eating, a necessary step to fill energy, sotis even a hassle.

But ever since traveling with Lu Xi'an, eating beca a al, various delicacies made chewing and swallowing food a pleasure.

As long as it doesn't affect herself, she wouldn't refuse to enjoy.

Thus, now she would enjoy sleeping warmly in the air-conditioned car, watching half a movie with Lu Xi'an before bed, and lying in bed intertwined, indulging desires.

She was certain that when necessary, she could revert to her previous state, doing what must be done. Therefore, now that enjoynt was possible, she naturally had to enjoy.

"Burp—"

After finishing the carrot, Lu Xi'an couldn't help but let out a burp.

Yao Wei glanced at Lu Xi'an, and Lu Xi'an asked, "Why, do you want to let out a burp too?"

Yao Wei just shook her head, saying nothing.

Lu Xi'an laughed, "Looks like you have a bigger appetite than I do."

"Mm."

Yao Wei nodded and replied.

She guessed that Lu Xi'an judged the appetite issue from that burp.

Lu Xi'an knows quite a lot, so what he says must be correct. If he could tell appetite from a burp, then the analysis about appetite must be right.

"Alright, after the carrot, it feels much more comfortable in the mouth. Just a sip of water now."

Lu Xi'an said another sentence.

Yao Wei silently went to the car, took out a bowl, filled it with water, and drank it herself, then filled another bowl and handed it to Lu Xi'an.

Seeing this, Lu Xi'an smiled, took the bowl, drank it down in one go, wiped his mouth, and asked, "Shall we head out?"

"Mm."

Yao Wei nodded.

Then they busied themselves, replenishing water in the tank, got in the car, closed the door, with Lu Xi'an in the driver's seat starting the car, shifting gears, stepping on the accelerator, setting off.

Yao Wei sat in the passenger seat, reading "World Map One."

By now, it's already noon. They have been Eastward from Coastal City for half a day, without reaching Chuandong County's town, and then found a road heading South, allowing to detour South towards Jiangdong City.

Chuandong County's town was not a necessary destination.

However, before turning South, they first planned to lie down and rest. With the sky dark, naturally, they would continue the journey tomorrow.

Lying in bed, Lu Xi'an said, "Luo Ping ntioned east of Chuandong County, the original land has been subrged by seawater.

"I checked the map during the day, and it showed a whole county East of Chuandong, quite far away. Such a large place was subrged by the sea; what kind of disaster must've occurred back then.

"People from Landao County, did they manage to escape back then?"
