Chapter 392: In their eyes, Alex was no different from a god
The lightning bolt just now certainly gave them a fright.
anwhile, as they stood there in shock and conversation, the sky outside suddenly darkened.
In the distance, over the sea, a massive cloud appeared once again, blocking out the sun and casting the area into shadow.
Inside the cloud, lightning flashed and thunder rumbled.
Everyone’s expressions changed slightly. They headed outside, gazing far off at the terrifying phenonon over the eastern sea.
“It really is the sa phenonon from the day before yesterday—it’s happening again!”
“I think this phenonon might be appearing every other day. And each ti, it seems to happen around noon!”
“Did anyone else notice that this ti the phenonon seems larger in scale than before?”
“Yeah, I felt that too. The aura is even more terrifying, and the atmosphere is more chaotic.”
“Is sothing happening in the depths of the ocean? Should we go check it out?”
“Check it out? No way! Don’t risk your life—it’s not worth it. It’s better to report this to the higher-ups in the city. Let them decide what to do. We’re just small fry.”
…
This ti, the phenonon lasted nearly twenty minutes, more than twice as long as the first ti.
The squad leader quickly reported the situation to his superiors.
This was no small matter. In this era, such phenona often signaled important events—either sothing extrely significant was about to appear, or a major event was about to unfold.
The squad leader didn’t hesitate for a mont and reported it imdiately.
…
Upon hearing the news, his superior instantly realized the gravity of the situation.
Without a second thought, he inford Nathan, one of the high-ranking officials of Dawn City. When Nathan heard the news, he frowned.
“A major phenonon occurring over the eastern sea? It happens every other day, and each ti it’s bigger? Interesting, very interesting.”
Nathan pondered for a mont, thinking to himself, “This is no small matter. It’s not suitable to leave this to soone else. It looks like I’ll have to investigate it myself.”
Nathan decided not to report this to Alex. After all, as one of the leaders of Dawn City, it was his job to handle such matters and relieve so of Alex’s burdens. He couldn’t bother Alex with every little thing.
He then gathered a team and took a helicopter to the location of the phenonon.
Before leaving, he briefly inford Alex that a phenonon had occurred over the eastern sea and that he was going to check it out.
“An anomaly has appeared in the eastern sea?” Alex raised an eyebrow upon hearing the news.
However, knowing that Nathan was handling the situation personally, he didn’t worry too much.
After all the challenges they’d faced together, Alex had grown to trust Nathan’s abilities. There wouldn’t be any mistakes.
After defeating nurous top-tier opponents, Alex had accumulated over a hundred thousand evolution points—a staggering amount, nearly equivalent to the total resources those top experts had at their disposal.
However, Alex didn’t rush to use the evolution points on his other abilities. He was hesitating.
Currently, he had upgraded three of his abilities to level five: Invincible Body, Pyrokinesis, and Teleportation.
He had a hunch that abilities could only be upgraded to level six, with level six being the maximum. To go beyond that?
Evolution points wouldn’t be enough; special conditions would be required.
“Rather than evenly upgrading all my abilities, it might be more effective to max out one ability. That would significantly boost my combat power,” Alex thought to himself.
Just then, Alex’s brow furrowed, and he looked toward the east.
He faintly sensed a gathering of violent energy in the distant east, sending waves of power surging through the air.
This was sothing he hadn’t encountered before.
Without hesitation, Alex flew into the sky to get a better look. In the distance, at the edge of the horizon, he saw dark clouds gathering.
Countless bolts of lightning flickered within them, densely packed and crisscrossing like a massive thunderstorm brewing—a sight reminiscent of a lightning pool.
“What’s going on? What’s happening over there?” Alex frowned.
At that mont, Nathan’s ssage ca through. “City Lord! The anomaly over the ocean is far more terrifying than we imagined! It’s said to have expanded several tis over, and our helicopter almost crashed!”
Alex could faintly sense that sothing major was happening in the eastern sea. Coupled with Nathan’s report, Alex knew he couldn’t sit still any longer.
He quickly gave Mia and Olivia so brief instructions before setting out.
At his current level, even his flight speed had greatly increased, reaching a minimum of 400 kiloters per hour. In no ti, he was headed east.
“Stay where you are. I’m on my way. Don’t panic!” Alex instructed Nathan and his team.
…
Before long, Alex saw the massive hull of the Dawn, the Noah’s Ark, along with other warships.
In the sky, there was a huge dark cloud, as black as ink, its thickness unknown.
The cloud gave off an oppressive feeling.
Moreover, countless bolts of lightning flickered and road within the cloud.
Thick bolts of lightning, like dragons, carried a destructive aura that seed capable of ending the world.
On the ground, many of Dawn City’s survivors had pale faces.
“Oh my god, I feel every muscle in my body trembling in fear!”
“The commotion caused by this anomaly is way bigger than before. I don’t even know how many tis bigger.”
“I wonder if this anomaly will continue to expand. At this rate, it won’t be long before even Dawn City feels it!”
“It probably won’t expand further. I think the appearance of this anomaly might be related to sothing in the sea. The farther you are from the ocean, the less likely you are to encounter the anomaly.”
People were discussing it fervently. Nathan led his troops to the area, intending to investigate.
However, to their surprise, the anomaly was far more terrifying than they had anticipated.
The various destructive auras emanating from it made everyone turn pale.
Even their helicopters dared not take off, fearing they would be struck by lightning, which would spell disaster.
As a result, they had no choice but to seek Alex’s help.
As the crowd discussed, soone noticed a figure swiftly flying in the distance, disappearing in a flash.
The person imdiately got excited and shouted, “Look! It’s the Lord of the City! The Lord is here!”
Soon, others also noticed Alex’s figure. Instantly, everyone beca increasingly excited. In their eyes, Alex was no different from a god.
The combined forces of all the world’s survivors couldn’t possibly be a match for Alex.
“Thank goodness, the Lord is finally here. Whatever the source of the anomaly is, it won’t escape the Lord’s keen eyes!”
“The Lord is so fast! It took us more than a day to get here by snowmobile from Dawn City, but the Lord got here in less than an hour!”
