Chapter 363: The Fall of Black Iron City, the Oncoming War
How Eugene is doing, Alex has no idea.
Since the arrival of the Vanguard Alliance, Dawn City has beco much livelier.
At this ti, scouting teams frequently leave Dawn City to investigate the tracks of the snow beasts in the snowfields. This is mainly for precautionary asures.
Indeed, they quickly identified a pattern: the areas where the snow beasts are active are getting closer and closer to Dawn City. The number of snow beasts and snow beast lords is also rising rapidly. There have even been reports of noticeably increased groups of snow beasts. This is a scene rarely seen before. Usually, snow beasts act alone and rarely group together.
Alex’s expression grew serious.
“Previously, the snow beasts were like scattered soldiers, posing no significant threat. However, now it seems they are different; they are grouping together and clearly have organization and discipline.”
Then Alex gazed towards the direction of the snowfields and speculated, “Could it be that even more formidable snow beasts than the snow beast lords have appeared?”
This question, for now, is bound to remain unanswered.
Ti passed, days went by, and Alex’s sense of crisis continued to grow. He beca increasingly anxious.
Finally, on this day, with a substantial amount of survival points accumulated, Alex decided to do an infinite material lottery.
“I wonder what I’ll draw,” Alex thought nervously.
In the end, he spent all his accumulated survival points, performing three upgraded version draws and one supre version draw.
Unfortunately, the first three chests were not what Alex wanted. They contained items like binoculars and eightfold scopes, which are not very useful in the current era and offered minimal help to Alex.
Finally, it was ti to open the last epic-level chest.
“Hope it satisfies !” Alex prayed, hoping for a miracle.
[Do you wish to open the chest?]
“Open it!”
[Congratulations, you have received an epic-level weapon: the Infinite Laser Cannon!]
Alex: “!!!”
At first, he was stunned, but then he quickly reacted with imnse delight!
“Infinite Laser Cannon? This is a great find!”
Alex exclaid, “Compared to ordinary cannons or rocket launchers, the biggest advantage of a laser cannon is its precision!”
“Ordinary shells have a hard ti hitting snow beasts because they move too quickly and can easily dodge. Without covering fire, it’s nearly impossible to hit them.”
“And this laser cannon seems to be different from what I understand; it’s very advanced and more sci-fi!”
Snowflakes drifted across the sky in large, floating patches.
The cold wind howled as the snowflakes danced in the breeze.
A scouting team from Dawn City was investigating sothing in the snowfields. Their mission was to track the movents of the snow beasts and provide early warnings.
Soon, the day’s work was coming to an end.
“This ti, we’ve found more and more traces, and we’ve even seen snow beasts from afar several tis. It seems that their numbers are indeed increasing rapidly. This world is becoming more and more dangerous,” soone sighed.
The person speaking was the leader of the scouting team.
Before long, their mission was complete.
They boarded their snow vehicles and prepared to head back. The team leader glanced back at the vast, white snowfield and felt an inexplicable sense of unease.
He urged everyone to quickly get on the snow vehicles and leave.
Soon, they were on their way ho.
The team leader felt a little more at ease.
However, they hadn’t traveled far when they arrived at a narrow area—high on both sides and low in the middle.
The narrow passageway in the middle was their only route.
At this mont, the team leader suddenly broke out in a sweat, and his sense of unease surged dramatically.
He abruptly looked up!
His eyes widened in shock!
His mind exploded with a deafening roar!
On the high ground on both sides of the passage, there were rows of enormous snow beasts, their cold eyes gazing down at them. There were nearly a hundred of them, including many lord-level snow beasts.
The team leader’s scalp tingled. Trying to suppress all his fear, he shouted, “Run!”
“Snow beasts! So many snow beasts!!!”
The others also noticed the multitude of snow beasts and, terrified, they desperately fled in their snow vehicles.
However, despair quickly set in for everyone.
Ahead in the canyon, a large number of snow beasts suddenly appeared, blocking their way. The team scrambled to turn around, intending to retreat.
But soon, they were in despair once again.
Behind them, a large group of snow beasts had also gathered.
“It’s over! Completely over!”
“How can there be so many snow beasts? This shouldn’t be happening!”
The group’s faces turned pale. They knew they were dood. Even if God ca, it wouldn’t save them.
Alex?
Even Alex wouldn’t be able to help.
There was no ti; it was too late.
With a roar from the beasts, the other snow beasts, as if possessed, charged at the seven-mber team.
Ten minutes later, everything was calm again. Only the trampled ground and patches of blood remained.
…
Almost simultaneously, Alex from Dawn City received the news of the scouting team’s demise.
Upon hearing the news, Alex was furious!
Especially when he learned that the location of the incident was less than ten kiloters from Dawn City, his face darkened.
“It looks like my fears are coming true. It won’t be long before the snow beasts attack the city.”
The concerns he had were slowly becoming reality. But fortunately, he had already made ample preparations.
“Let them co. This is a crisis, but also an opportunity for to reach level 100!” Alex thought to himself.
He then stepped in to calm the panicking crowd.
From that point on, he stopped sending out scouting teams. Instead, he used his Shadow Clone for reconnaissance.
As ti went on, Alex discovered a large number of snow beasts outside Dawn City. Their numbers were initially estimated to be no fewer than three thousand. Moreover, their numbers continued to increase!
Among them, nearly a hundred were lord-level snow beasts.
This was an incredibly frightening number. Even Alex would be seeking death if he rashly entered their midst!
“This battle won’t be easy. The problem is, I don’t know when the snow beasts will act. They seem very cautious, not easily gathering together, as if they are wary of my preemptive strikes.”
It appeared that the snow beasts were more intelligent than he had imagined. Moreover, it seed that they had a common leader directing everything.
Alex was increasingly certain that there was a super snow beast among them.
…
Days passed, and another major event occurred, sending shockwaves around the world!
“Shocking! Black Iron City has fallen overnight! Thousands of snow beasts surged into Black Iron City, and tens of thousands of survivors were brutally killed!!!”
“Heartbreaking! Black Iron City was one of the few human cities left, and it was overrun by snow beasts. It’s truly unacceptable!”
“According to insider information, Black Iron City was attacked by snow beasts in a surprise raid. A large number of snow beasts gathered outside Black Iron City the night before without any warning. While everyone was asleep, they easily breached Black Iron City. The city’s weapons and equipnt were never used, and everyone was killed. It’s such a pity.”
“This serves as a warning to all of us. We urge everyone to remain extrely vigilant at all tis and in all places. Never let your guard down! The bloody reality is right before us!”
“This world is bound to change. I have a premonition that sothing big is about to happen, and a storm is coming!”
“There’s no need for your premonitions. It’s sothing everyone knows. What more predictions do you need?”
“The large number of snow beasts outside the city ans we can only survive within the city. As for those still in Noah’s Ark, their chances of survival are grim!”
