Chapter 157: we’ve found the person
anwhile, at Alex’s mansion, Skylar received a ssage.
Upon reading it, he furrowed his brow slightly.
Then he looked up at Alex and said, “Alex, you need to be prepared.”
“According to the information provided by my informant, Avery has already learned about Jas’s death.”
“Although they haven’t traced it back to you yet, it won’t be long.”
Alex shrugged nonchalantly, unconcerned.
“Let him co. It took them days to realize his brother’s dead, and they still haven’t found the killer. My impression of the Spectrum Squad seems to have dropped a notch.”
Skylar pondered for a mont, unsure of what to say.

Alex stood up and escorted Skylar to the door.
“Since you’re busy, I won’t keep you. Next ti you’re free, co over for tea.”
Skylar gestured for Jason to go start the car.
Then, standing at the villa’s door, he said to Alex, “Alex, you’re straightforward. Rest assured, Legion of Glory will always stand with you, even if you leave in the future.”
Alex gave a slight smile.
“Alright, Skylar.”
Jason had already driven up to the villa’s gate, opened the rear door, and waited for Skylar.
Skylar patted Alex’s shoulder.
“Okay, Alex, I’ll head back now.”
Then, after watching Skylar leave, Alex returned inside.
“Number 22.”
Alex called for the combat robot.
Number 22 stepped forward.
“What’s your command, my master?”
Alex said, “Scan , Mia, and Olivia’s bodies, see if there’s anything unusual.”
“Yes, master.”
Number 22’s eyes flashed with blue light as it scanned Alex and the other two.
“What’s going on, Alex?”
Mia asked, puzzled.
Number 22 reported, “Master, no abnormalities detected.”
Alex nodded.
It was only then that he explained to the confused Mia and Olivia, “It’s better to be safe than sorry, just a precautionary asure.”
Only now did Alex truly ease up on Skylar.
It seed that the Legion of Glory’s captain was genuinely interested in cooperating with him, without any ulterior motives.
Then he addressed the two again, “Be extra careful when you’re out lately. Spectrum Squad will probably figure out it was us who killed Jas soon.”
Now that Mia and Olivia’s strength was sufficient for self-preservation, Alex wouldn’t keep them confined to the house as he used to.
The hustle and bustle of the East City District could bring back so sense of normalcy.
Keeping Mia and Olivia cooped up at ho all the ti would be unfair to them.
Mia and Olivia nodded.
“We understand. We’ll try to minimize our outings, and when we do go out, we’ll be cautious.”
Alex lovingly ruffled the heads of the two.
Their maturity made him feel extrely relieved.

Avery woke up from his sleep.
When he woke up, he was drenched in sweat.
This was unknown how many tis he had dreamt of Jas.
In the dream, Jas was covered in blood and walked up to Avery, saying pitifully, “Brother, I died so miserably…”
Avery tried to grab Jas but couldn’t hold onto him.
He could only watch his brother walk away.
As he chased after him, he fell into an abyss.
Then, he was startled awake again.

Avery’s room door was knocked.
At this ti, only his personal secretary dared to disturb him.
After obtaining permission, the secretary opened the door.
Approaching Avery, he said, “Captain, we’ve found the person.”
That person.
Naturally, it was the person who killed Jas.
Avery’s gaze turned cold as he asked, “Who is it?”
The personal secretary took out a photo from his pocket and respectfully handed it to Avery, saying, “Captain, once you see this, you’ll know.”
Avery glanced at it and said directly, “Where did this photo co from? Can you guarantee its authenticity?”
The personal secretary nodded affirmatively.
“Captain, this photo was taken by a vendor at the scene of the incident. It’s definitely genuine.”
Avery laughed heartily, crushing the photo underfoot.
It was a clear photo of Alex, Mia, and Olivia leaving the scene.
“Ridiculous! The person who killed my blood relative is right under my nose, and I didn’t even know, still lowering myself to recruit him!”
Avery cursed angrily, veins bulging on his forehead.
“Go! Send soone to kill Alex!”
“Yes.”
The personal secretary responded and left the room to convey the captain’s orders.
Avery’s eyes were bloodshot. After the personal secretary left, he couldn’t hold back his tears any longer. He cried to himself, “Brother, wait for . Brother, I will definitely kill Alex to avenge you!”
The mbers of the Spectrum Squad soon received the orders and began to formulate plans against Alex and the others.
