Chapter 149: We have nothing to fear

Jas’s henchn finally snapped out of their daze.

Seeing the situation, they realized it might be a big gunfight.

“Quick, scatter and take cover!”

However, before they could react, 22’s laser cannon device fired.

“Wings of Light Unfurl!”

In an instant, the enemy on the right side of where 22 stood was almost completely wiped out.

The few survivors who managed to survive were left sitting on the ground, staring in shock at the laser cannon’s path, feeling weak in the knees.

“Run!”

They staggered to their feet and tried to flee.

22 drew the Energy Pulse Sword and completed the final harvest.

Jas was truly panicked now.

The situation in the other three directions was changing rapidly.

Just as he blinked, only his side was unscathed.

But Alex was nowhere to be seen!

Jas watched helplessly as Alex disappeared before his eyes.

Was it invisibility powers? How could there be such a despicable power?

Just then, Alex reappeared.

He was only two or three ters away from Jas.

Jas looked at the chilling armor and the Energy Pulse Sword in Alex’s hand, fear finally appearing on his face.

“Stop him!” Jas shouted.

His n tried to raise their guns to shoot, but Alex swiftly cut off their hands.

Then, with a perfect sword technique, the heads of several of Jas’s n in front of him all fell simultaneously.

The Energy Pulse Sword was truly domineering.

Alex was enamored with it.

Compared to the previous Critical Hit Katana, it couldn’t achieve the effect of making heads drop like a row of bowling pins.

With a sword in one hand and a gun in the other, Alex used his Concealnt ability to get close to the survivors around Jas, making it all seem effortless.

In the blink of an eye, only Jas was left.

Mia, Olivia, Puff Tiger, and 22 had also dealt with the encirclent they were responsible for, and now stood behind Alex, all of them casting cold glances at Jas.

Jas attempted to flee, but Alex swiftly kicked his kneecap, shattering it.

Jas could only clutch his knee, sweating profusely.

No scream, huh?

Alex raised an eyebrow slightly.

Even now, Jas showed no fear.

He looked at Alex, who had already removed his combat gear, and coldly threatened, “Alex, I suggest you be sensible and let go. If sothing happens to , I can assure you that you will face endless pursuit.”

“Even now, you’re still threatening ?” Alex drew his pistol and released the safety catch.

Seeing that Alex was serious, Jas beca anxious.

“Alex, I’m advising you not to take things too far!”

“When you brought people to kill , your fate was already sealed.”

Alex pulled the trigger, his expression indifferent.

“Goodbye.”

Bang!

Jas fell dead on the streets of the East City District, his eyes wide open.

He hadn’t even had the chance to reveal the forces behind him.

He had hoped that Alex might be intimidated if he heard about them and would let him go.

He never expected Alex to be so decisive, to simply shoot him dead.

Olivia looked at Jas’s body with so concern.

“Alex, was that too hasty? This Jas seems to have so background. He was confident until the very end.”

Alex and his team were new to this place. If they offended so local power, they would be in a difficult position.

As Jas had said, they might face endless pursuit until one side fell.

But now, they didn’t even know who was backing Jas.

Alex holstered his pistol, smiling faintly.

“When the enemy cos, we’ll face them head-on. We have nothing to fear.”

“Besides, even if we let him go, he wouldn’t spare us. I bet once he gets back, he’ll co after us again imdiately.”

Olivia sighed.

Indeed, as Alex said.

This ti, it was entirely Jas trying to bully them, and they couldn’t escape it.

Unless, they quickly left the city.

But that went against Alex’s original intention.

After finally arriving in this bustling city, they would imdiately flee.

Not only would it be physically exhausting, but they would also encounter dangers.

More importantly, Alex was confident in his own abilities and wouldn’t be afraid of anyone.

Mia chuckled and said, “It’s okay, since the guy’s already dead, let’s not think too much about it. Just like Alex said, we’ll face whatever cos our way!”

Alex ruffled Mia’s hair and smiled, saying, “You girls need to trust in your man’s abilities. Don’t worry, I’ve got everything under control.”

The two nodded.

Alex continued, “It seems like our shopping spree is over for now. We’ll have to find a house to serve as our headquarters.”

Assuming nothing unexpected happened, they would be living here for quite so ti.

Finding a suitable and comfortable place to stay was necessary.

So, the three of them decided to hop into their armored vehicle and search the surrounding areas for a house.

Being a big city, the East City District had many villas built along the riverbank.

Ti flew by.

Alex and his team had already visited several places.

However, they were not entirely satisfied with any of them.

Strictly speaking, most of the so-called villas were actually townhouses, and so didn’t even have their own yard.

Finally, when they found a villa with a yard, it was too small for their needs, and it was also occupied by other survivors.

They didn’t want to be surrounded by so many people.

In City 25, there were even real estate developers. This profession never ceased to exist, no matter the era. Most of these villa areas were controlled by large teams with the backing of powerful groups. So townhouses were being sold at sky-high prices. The cost of buying a villa could even purchase materials for several combat robots.

If they found a suitable villa, Alex wouldn’t mind paying a bit more, but the problem was that even ordinary villas were being sold at exorbitant prices. If they wanted sothing better, the prices would be astronomical.

Sitting in the armored vehicle, the three shook their heads helplessly.

They had just visited all the villa communities, but still hadn’t found one that satisfied everyone.

Alex might like one villa, but Mia might have objections.

“I think the lighting here isn’t great, I don’t like it…” Mia might say.

Olivia might like a villa by the river, but then Alex would have concerns.

“No, building by the river would be too damp. Plus, we don’t know if there are any mutant creatures in the river. It’s too dangerous.”

If Mia liked one, Olivia might find the yard too small.

“I think this yard is too small, even smaller than our previous one. It can’t accommodate all our fruits and vegetables.”

In short, finding a villa that satisfied everyone was difficult.

Alex sighed and rubbed his temples, saying, “Do you guys have any ideas? We’ve visited all the villa communities, ladies!”

“I think we should go with the detached villa I ntioned earlier…” Olivia started, but was imdiately vetoed by both girls.

“No way!”

Alex scratched his nose and didn’t say anything more.
