Chapter 129: teorite Impact

After their passionate encounter in the room, Alex breathed out a sigh of relief, leaning back against the headboard, looking sowhat conflictedly at Olivia.

“Olivia, have you figured out how to face Mia?”

Smack! Olivia pursed her lips, lifting her head.

“It was Mia who encouraged to co over. She said you’re passive, so I should take the initiative.”

Then she lowered her head without saying another word.

Hiss! Alex sucked in a sharp breath.

“So, it’s the two of you scheming together, huh? I see, both of you are craving for !”

“Pfft!”

Alex froze.

Olivia froze too.

This laughter ca from outside the room…

The door cracked open.

Mia apologized verbally, but her face was smiling.

“Sorry, I didn’t co at the right ti.”

“Co here!”

Alex raised an eyebrow.

Mia obediently walked over, seemingly scared she had angered Alex.

“What’s wrong?”

Alex’s originally stern face gradually softened into a smile.

“You ca at just the right ti!”

Then, he pulled Mia and Olivia into his embrace.

That night, the three slept together.

After breaking the ice, the three got along even better.

anwhile, the teorite rain began to fall.

The old city was the first to be hit.

Every survivor could receive videos and news updates through the system announcents.

Everyone was hiding in underground bunkers. If there were no updates from the system, no one could know the specifics of the teorite rain.

Alex saw a video.

A group of zombies gathered in the old city, looking up at the teorite with a long tail like an arrowhead approaching them.

Roar! The zombies were uncomfortable due to the increasingly high temperature brought by the approaching teorite, roaring in agony.

It seed that this kind of roar would make them feel cooler.

The next mont, the teorite fell.

Through the screen, Alex could clearly see the distorted air caused by the high temperature.

After a burst of white light, a large crater appeared in the picture.

It was several ters deep, with a diater comparable to a standard football field.

And those zombies, located in the deep pit, were completely obliterated.

“Alex, what are you watching?”

Mia leaned on Alex’s back, her arms around his shoulders.

Seeing Alex engrossed in the video, she asked.

Olivia also approached, curious to see the video.

Alex didn’t stop them, instead, he pulled them into his embrace, projecting the video played by the system on the screen for them to see the destruction caused by the recent teorite impact.

After watching the video, Mia and Olivia fell silent.

They were shocked by the devastation of this disaster.

And this was just the beginning.

Next, there would be more teorite showers.

They dared not imagine how great the disaster would be when those teorites hit.

If they hit the villa area, would the underground bunker really be able to withstand it…

Seeing his two won full of worry, Alex gently stroked their hair, comforting, “It’s okay, don’t be afraid. We’re probably the only high-level underground bunker in this city. If we can’t withstand the teorite showers, then this teorite shower is truly a system-designed extermination of all of us.”

Mia sighed in frustration.

“Hey, I wonder how many survivors will perish this ti,” she said.

Though the system had given survivors a month to prepare for the teor shower onslaught, gathering resources and constructing underground bunkers proved impossible for many of the city’s hundreds of thousands of survivors.

In tis of chaos, the majority of resources were in the hands of those with weapons. The simple truth was that facing large groups of just a few hundred people, so lower-tier teams, and even groups of over a thousand huddling together for warmth, dared not confront head-on.

In this era of firearms, sheer numbers couldn’t bridge the gap. Without weapons, in this post-apocalyptic world, survival was more precarious than facing zombies.

Hence, the vast majority of these survivors would perish in this catastrophic teor shower.

So survivors might maintain optimism. Having struggled for so long, they might choose to shout “God!” when the teor struck them, resigned to their fate.

Others, unable to find a way to survive, would shed a tear and await death in silence.

Olivia remained silent. Unlike Mia, she was not as sentintal. Since arriving in this apocalyptic world, she had witnessed too much cannibalism. Human life had beco insignificant to her.

Alex opened the chat channel and found many survivors sharing their thoughts. It appeared both ludicrous and desolate.

[Chat Channel]

ID 567457: “I’m about to die. I’m in the old city area, not killed by the teor but dying of thirst! There’s not a drop of water left!”

“Heh, after the teor hits, the high ground temperatures will dehydrate you, not to ntion the radiation…”

ID 364573: “It’s truly tragic. Those with ans have all hidden in underground bunkers, living worry-free. Only we, the survivors who are worse off than ants, are left on the surface, living second by second!”

ID 834567: “I really don’t want to die! I’ve damn well fought so hard to survive in this post-apocalyptic world, why? Why is this happening? Damn it!”

ID 84566: “Hey, bro, I’m even worse off than you. I’m damn well trapped on the streets of the old city area. Can’t get back to the underground bunker. It’s damn well useless. Unjust!”

Similar desperate ssages flooded the chat channel endlessly. There were just too many.

In the face of death, everyone sought soone to confide in. The chat channel had beco their final refuge.

They frantically flooded the chat channel with ssages, even though many survivors residing in underground bunkers were cursing them.

ID 474633: “Damn it! When will you all stop! If you’re gonna die, die further away. What’s the point of spamming the chat channel? Whether you live or die has nothing to do with us! Who do you think you are, a hero?”

ID 364563: “Exactly! A bunch of weaklings who can’t even build underground bunkers. Dying is no different from insects dying. Still spamming here, really annoying!”

ID 734534: “We just like to vent! Co on, hit ! Co up to the surface! Hahaha!”

Survivors living in underground bunkers naturally couldn’t venture to the surface. With the massive radiation and high temperatures brought by the teor shower, only fools would go up and et their demise.

These survivors on the surface would all perish within the next day or two.

The heated argunt continued.

After a while, the system played another video.

Once again, it was from the old city area.

This ti, several teors fell consecutively.

And it didn’t stop there.

Even the densely populated central area began to see teor impacts.

They ca one after another!

There was nowhere to hide from the onslaught of the teor shower.

If so, it’s just that I was lucky and ca later than others.
