Chapter 5: Chilled Coca-Cola
Bai Yuanyuan, wanting to be able to enjoy oden in the future, strongly endorsed it.
“Okay, thank you. Would you like a Coke?”
Seeing Bai Yuanyuan’s eager deanor, Su Yinhe worried she might be thirsty and handed her a chilled Coke.
“For ? Thank you, you’re really beautiful inside and out; I’ve never t anyone as kind and pretty as you in my entire life…” She couldn’t believe she received a free Coke, and it was even chilled—what sort of celestial being was this?
Normally described by colleagues as stingy and miserly, Su Yinhe felt a bit embarrassed receiving complints and, in her cheerful mood, gave Bai Yuanyuan an ice pop as well.
Bai Yuanyuan almost wanted to stay and marry her.
In the end, it was Xu Jiaoqin who dragged her away.
“You must move next to our base soon,” Bai Yuanyuan waved, her face showing reluctance.
On the road, half of the n from Cheetah Team regretted that during their ti spent in the supermarket, they hadn’t thought to butter up the owner with so flattery.
A bottle of Coke and an ice pop.
“Yuanyuan, you just ate so much oden; you must be stuffed. Do you need to help you with that…”
Bai Yuanyuan: “Scram.”
Where’s your face?
After the Cheetah Team left, Su Yinhe finally had ti to contemplate exactly how to maneuver the supermarket.
Having thought it over and browsed the supermarket again, she found no strange switches.
Later, she discovered a green dog-head app on her tablet.
Upon clicking it, a shopping mall interface appeared.
There were many products, just like those she’d seen before, and concerning the currency for exchange… Crystal Cores?
She had miscalculated.
She hadn’t seen it earlier and had missed out on so many Crystal Cores.
That team’s setup wasn’t weak; they must have had nurous Crystal Cores. She regretted not having noticed it sooner.
Besides selling items, the app allowed her to control the supermarket.
She could adjust the surveillance, set up absolute defense, and change the protective shield outside the supermarket.
The shield was currently turned off, and activating it required Crystal Cores.
The cheapest one, 188 second-level Crystal Cores, was valid for one day.
Su Yinhe: “…” Swindler.
The protective shield’s size and strength could be adjusted, and naturally, the bigger and stronger it was, the more expensive.
Once activated, even if it was for less than a day, it would count as a full day, and you’d have to pay again for any additional activation.
Fortunately, the shield was just the first line of defense; the supermarket had an absolute defense on the outside—it was very sturdy—and there was internal defense too, impenetrable even to an atomic bomb.
Though, whether atomic bombs still existed was another question.
So it didn’t matter if the shield wasn’t activated.
But having it turned on would look more impressive.
The supermarket’s relocation could also be adjusted there; Su Yinhe checked and saw she could input coordinates directly, but she didn’t know them.
She could also open the map and select a location.
The map was up to date, indicating the positions of several major bases in this world in green, while high zombie-density areas were marked in red.
Sun Base was the closest and very noticeable.
Su Yinhe decided to operate it later in the evening, just in case the supermarket really did fly—doing it during the broad daylight would be too frightening.
She’d wait till nightfall.
Su Yinhe familiarized herself with the dog-head app and when it was almost dark, she went up to the fifth floor to take a bath and wash her hair. After drying her hair, she watched a show for a while.
Of course, before going up to the fifth floor, she locked down the supermarket from her tablet, preventing anyone from coming in.
After watching her show, Su Yinhe, holding her tablet, stood by the window of her room, gravely starting the operation.
She had never seen the supermarket fly in the sky before.
One second…
Two seconds…
Three seconds…
The supermarket vibrated for two seconds, then stopped.
The scenery outside the window had changed too, still desolate, still run-down, but it was different.
Gone?
That fast, huh?
Can’t believe it doesn’t fly?
Su Yinhe fell silent for a mont. Late at night, the people from Sun Base probably wouldn’t co out, so she…
Go play then.
She didn’t want to go down anymore.
Su Yinhe decided to check out the fourth floor.
The fourth floor had been her residence too, but then she had it remodeled by the system.
After all, she was going to live here for quite a while, and although the supermarket on the second floor also sold vegetables, at, and fish…
Growing flowers and grass was beneficial for health.
So, apart from the dical room, the fourth floor also had a planting area, a breeding area, a seafood area…
The space had been remodeled too, apparently using so kind of space-folding technology.
So the fourth floor was the largest level among the five.
And it was the one with the most high tech.
There were artificial suns, automatic seeders, automatic watering machines, automatic insect catchers…
Fully automatic planting, fully automatic breeding…
Moreover, the vegetables and various animals inside were ready to eat, having grown to full size.
And it was limitless…
So fortunate…
Su Yinhe wandered for half an hour and hadn’t even finished exploring when she reached the seafood area and her steps halted.
In fact, there was also a seafood section on the second floor, in the supermarket.
But could the system’s seafood section be the sa as the supermarket’s? The variety here was clearly much more abundant and lively.
Su Yinhe used an automatic catcher and grabbed a large lobster.
That settled it, tonight she would dine on lobster.
During dinner, Su Yinhe, moved by the succulent taste of the lobster at, cried with emotion.
Quitting was indeed good, when would she ever have ti to eat lobster while slaving away?
Zhou Bapi, the boss, would rather have them sleeping in the company, never wanting them to leave, always working overti, and he wanted voluntary overti at that, with pitifully little overti pay.
The overti pay for a whole month’s work might not even cover the cost of this large lobster.
As Su Yinhe was hugging and munching on the lobster, Cheetah Team also returned to Sun Base.
The instant noodles they had brought back today also drew a crowd.
“Captain Xu, where on earth did you get all these instant noodles?” Soone familiar with Xu Jiaoqin couldn’t help but co up and ask.
“Captain Xu, can we trade? I’ll use twenty pounds… thirty pounds of mutant snow rabbit at to exchange.” Those who had enough to eat and plenty of goods wanted to trade.
He had plenty of goods, lots of stored mutant snow rabbit at, and upon seeing the rare instant noodles, couldn’t resist the urge to trade.
Haven’t eaten those in many years, was yearning for them.
“I won’t trade my share, ask soone else.” Each person only got three packs, and Xu Jiaoqin couldn’t bear to part with them.
She had been longing to taste the flavor of instant noodles.
Xu Jiaoqin didn’t trade.
But several team mbers with families to feed traded away one pack after dividing up the instant noodles.
Thirty pounds of at for three packs of instant noodles, you could eat it all by yourself, but when divided among so many mouths at ho, it would only amount to a few bites each.
Better to trade for at and let the family eat well for a couple more days.
They didn’t trade all away, they just traded one pack, planning to cook the two packs of instant noodles with the mutant snow rabbit at for a delicious family al.
Those who got the instant noodles went to check the production date, place of production, and manufacturer, only to discover that these details had already been rubbed off.
So people also inquired where they had been found, and Cheetah Team, having received words from Su Yinhe, spared no effort in promoting it.
“Really? A small necklace in exchange for so much?” So people expressed disbelief.
“Why would we lie to you? That store owner said he’s coming over in a few days.” Bai Yuanyuan, who had benefited, was the most enthusiastic, whereas other mbers of Cheetah Team advertised a bit before running ho to look for gold.
