The terrain for this evaluation was a mountain forest.
The examiner’s cha vanished in a flash, but Duge had already captured the model of the opponent’s cha in an instant.
Blade, an offensive cha.
Priced at ten thousand Netcoins, it was equipped with a thrusting sword, a small cannon, a pulse gun, two small tracking missiles, and had features such as radar jamming and adaptive color-shifting armor.
In terms of old-world military power, a Blade controlled by an interdiate cha pilot could easily annihilate a two-thousand-man infantry regint with standard equipnt—it was one of the most commonly used chas by interdiate pilots.
Sea Swallow was an entry-level cha, nearly two grades lower than Blade. Under normal circumstances, the weapons it was equipped with couldn’t even breach Blade’s defenses unless it got close enough to cleave open the cockpit with its broadsword and take down the Blade, but Blade’s powerful artillery system wouldn’t let the Sea Swallow get anywhere near.
Blade’s radar jamming system could make it disappear from the Sea Swallow’s screen, leaving only the pilot’s naked eye for observation, but for combating visual detection, Blade had its color-shifting coating.
In other words, relative to the Sea Swallow, the Blade was in a state of invisibility.
Not even able to see the opponent, let alone fight them.
Moreover, Sea Swallow was fragile; once hit and its mobility impaired, the only path left would be destruction.
The two were simply chas from different eras.
But Duge was a monster with over five million spiritual power.
In the battle network, his spiritual power was unfettered by Lin Hong’s physical limitations, his perception could completely cover the entire battlefield, far more sensitive than radar.
To Duge, who was virtually cheating, Blade’s arsenal of stealth attacks were just for show.
Qu Yaqi thought she was invisible, but every move she made was like performing a pole dance just under Duge’s eyelids. To save costs, she didn’t even use tracking missiles but approached Duge swiftly through tactical maneuvers in the forest, planning to take him out with her cannon.
This fit right into Duge’s hands; she had advanced just two kiloters when Duge had already lifted his cannon and fired a shot at her.
Bang!
Blade trembled, the screen showed that the cockpit was hit.
The bullets from Sea Swallow’s cannon couldn’t pierce Blade’s defenses, but Qu Yaqi’s forward movent suddenly stuttered.
Damn!
It was a trap, an expert move!
She instinctively controlled Blade to change her trajectory and imdiately fired the tracking missiles towards the Sea Swallow’s position on the radar.
Against an expert, there was no point in competing with maneuvering.
Using a more powerful artillery system for suppression was the safest bet.
Qu Yaqi’s reaction was fast, but just as she pressed the missile launch button, more gunfire rang out, and her screen suddenly went blank, having lost all visuals.
Radar system disabled.
How is this possible?
The radar system was the eyes of the cha, second only to the cockpit in defensive capabilities; how could it be destroyed instantly?
A super expert!
Qu Yaqi’s vision went dark, her heart nearly bleeding with pain.
Defeating the opposing candidate would earn three hundred Netcoins, but firing a tracking missile cost a hefty 150 Netcoins. The mont she launched the tracking missile, she was already not making any profit from this battle.
But now that the radar system was destroyed, replacing it would cost at least eight hundred Netcoins...
She was now at a huge loss.
Luckily, she had taken out the opponent and could recoup so costs.
Really, she hated these super experts who played weak only to reveal their true strength!
Qu Yaqi was filled with grievances, but when the explosion sounded, there was no notification of a successful kill.
Her heart sank.
Without interception and jamming systems, the likelihood of dodging a tracking missile was one in a hundred thousand; was the opponent an ace pilot?
Qu Yaqi’s mind went blank as she reflexively controlled Blade to execute tactical evasion maneuvers.
With the radar system damaged, she had to rely on full-screen vision to fight. The second tracking missile was radar-guided and could no longer lock onto the target; she had to manually lock on to fire it, but it also lost its tracking ability.
Facing a super expert that could precisely destroy a radar control system with a single cannon, Qu Yaqi knew she had no chance of winning, but the battle network, designed to prevent examiners from cheating by going easy, provided no option to end the test prematurely, other than defeat.
She had no choice but to go for broke.
After all.
Blade was equipped with a pulse gun which, upon impact, would destroy the electronic components of the Sea Swallow, instantly paralyzing it.
And Sea Swallow’s weapons, unless up close, couldn’t breach her defenses in a short ti.
Her shooting skills were perfect. There was still hope for victory.
The gap between the two chas was huge, not sothing that could be compensated by getting closer.
At this mont, although Qu Yaqi forced herself to remain calm, she was actually panicking, having already lost her basic judgnt of the battlefield and forgetting how Duge had taken out her radar system with just a few shots.
While performing various tactical evasion maneuvers, she searched for her opponent’s silhouette through the panoramic screen.
But just as she caught sight of the Sea Swallow’s shadow and before she could even raise her pulse gun, several gunshots rang out again,
On the screen, Blade’s defense values plumted rapidly.
Then everything went dark before her eyes, the scene switched, and she had exited the examination arena; floating before her was a line of red text: "You have been killed."
"Impossible," Qu Yaqi jumped up, the opponent was clearly using a Sea Swallow, and the cannon it was equipped with was the basic model. How could it breach her cockpit with just a few shots?
There must be sothing wrong.
Qu Yaqi couldn’t stand the thought of her nearly ruined cha, and imdiately brought up the playback of the recording.
