Capítulo 656: Chapter 656: Ruby’s Return
After returning from the charity event, Su Jiyai looked out the car window and saw how much her state had developed.
The buildings were taller, the streets were cleaner, and the people looked happier. She honestly felt thrilled seeing all the changes that had happened since she left.
Then suddenly, a mory flashed in her mind. The half-zombie baby.
She quickly turned to Qin Feng. “Hey, how’s that half-zombie baby doing? If I’m not wrong, he should be around ten or eleven years old by now, right? It’s been so long.”
Qin Feng smiled, his voice calm.
“He’s not a baby anymore. The boy has completely transford into a healthy young man. He’s even participating in sports now. Maybe next year, he’ll make it into the national football team.”
Hearing that, Su Jiyai’s lips curved into a wide grin.
“That’s amazing! From a half-zombie baby to a national player? That’s a miracle.”
Qin Feng chuckled. “He’s been wanting to et his godmother, you know.”
“Godmother?” Su Jiyai blinked, then suddenly rembered. “Ah! I did say I’d be his godmother!” She looked at Qin Feng and playfully stuck out her tongue.
Qin Feng gave her a helpless smile. “You forgot again, didn’t you? Part of your earnings went into sponsoring that boy. He’s very grateful to you, and he’s been wanting to et you for years.”
Su Jiyai looked at her husband with amazent. “If it wasn’t for you, I would’ve forgotten every single thing!”
Qin Feng just chuckled, shaking his head. Soon, they reached their mansion after what had been a truly aningful day.
The next morning, sunlight poured through the large windows, and Su Jiyai slowly opened her eyes. Just as she was about to stretch, a blue notification blinked in front of her.
It was from her system.
[Ruby has been found. She will be teleported back to Earth at 3:00 PM.]
Su Jiyai sat up straight, her heart pounding in surprise. “Ruby…?!” she whispered, her eyes widening.
Then, excitent filled her face, and without hesitation, she turned to the man sleeping peacefully beside her.
“Qin Feng! Wake up!” she said, shaking him gently.
Qin Feng rubbed his eyes sleepily. “Hmm? What happened?”
“Ruby has been found!” she said, her voice trembling with joy.
Hearing that, Qin Feng’s eyes lit up. He smiled warmly and pulled her into a hug. “That’s wonderful! Finally, our family can be together again.”
Su Jiyai nodded eagerly. “Yes! We should tell everyone right away.”
Qin Feng agreed, and within a few minutes, they had gathered Anna, Jacob, and Jake in the living room. Everyone looked curious as they entered.
“What happened?” Anna asked.
Su Jiyai couldn’t hold back her smile. “Ruby has been found. She’ll be back at 3 PM today.”
Jake’s eyes widened in disbelief. “What?! Ruby? She’s alive?!”
Tears welled up in his eyes as he almost dropped to his knees. Su Jiyai quickly stopped him with a laugh.
“No need to kneel! And when Ruby cos back, I’ll make sure to tell her that you once tried to kill !”
Jake’s face turned red. “Jiyai! Don’t say that!” He laughed awkwardly, realizing she was teasing him. “If you tell her that, she’ll think I’m a terrible person.”
Su Jiyai grinned mischievously. “Exactly. That’s the plan.”
Everyone burst into laughter, and the tension lted away.
Just then, the door to the mansion opened, and in ca a tall young man with confident steps.
“Suzy!” Su Jiyai called out in surprise.
The boy, now fifteen, rushed forward and hugged her tightly. “I thought you weren’t coming back,” he said in a trembling voice.
The last ti Su Jiyai had seen him, he was twelve years old.
Back then, he was just a boy with bright eyes and innocent laughter. But now, standing before her, he looked mature and strong, like a young warrior.
She couldn’t help but pinch his cheek in surprise. “You’ve grown so much!”
Suzy quickly dodged her hand and gave her a deadpan stare. But the spark of excitent in his eyes betrayed his serious face.
“When did you arrive? Why didn’t you tell earlier?”
Su Jiyai turned toward Qin Feng and raised an eyebrow, silently asking why he hadn’t told Suzy.
Qin Feng raised his hands defensively. “Hey, don’t look at like that. I thought he’d find out eventually!”
Su Jiyai rolled her eyes but smiled. “You’re impossible.”
How can she not know that Qin Feng was holding a grudge against Su Zhi?
After all, there was a ti when Su Zhi repeatedly interuppted Qin Feng and Su Jiyai’s alone ti!
Taking a deep breath, she turned back to Suzy. “Alright, alright, my fault. I should’ve told you.”
Suzy sighed. “So… does that an all your missions are finally done?”
“Yes,” Su Jiyai said proudly, nodding.
A small smile appeared on Suzy’s lips.
Su Jiyai laughed. “You can smile, you know.”
“I’m not smiling,” Suzy said quickly, trying to hide his grin. Then he looked around and asked,
“So, why is everyone gathered here? Is there so kind of celebration going on? Or did you all just know I’d show up?”
Su Jiyai chuckled. “No, silly. Ruby’s been found. She’s coming back today.”
Suzy’s eyes widened. “Aunt Ruby?! Really?”
She nodded. “Really.”
“Then I’m staying! I want to see her too!” he said quickly, and everyone nodded in agreent, sharing his excitent.
Hours passed, and finally, the clock struck three. The air around the living room shimred, and a glowing blue portal began to open.
Everyone held their breath as the portal swirled faster and faster until a figure slowly stepped out.
It was a woman, graceful, radiant, and familiar.
“Ruby!” Jake shouted as he ran forward, tears filling his eyes. He threw his arms around her.
Ruby didn’t pull away. She froze for a second, then smiled softly and patted his back. “Jake… how have you been?”
There was slight tears in her eyes and her voice sounded a bit choked.
Jake’s voice cracked as he sobbed. “Where were you all this ti? We couldn’t find you anywhere!”
Ruby gave a faint smile. “I was trapped in another world… waiting for Su Jiyai to rescue .”
Everyone froze. Their eyes turned to Su Jiyai, confusion spreading across their faces.
Su Jiyai blinked. “Wait, what? You were waiting for ?” she asked, genuinely puzzled.
Ruby laughed gently. “You probably don’t rember. When you were traveling through dinsions, I fell into a portal with you.”
Su Jiyai frowned. “I… what?”
Ruby nodded and began explaining, her voice calm but full of emotion.
“When you were trying to make your second breakthrough of your dinsion-hunting power, your energy beca unstable. You accidentally opened a portal to the past. When you jumped in, I fell in with you.”
Su Jiyai nodded, “I know, I rember.”
It was the scene where she had seen a woman calling soone ‘J’, and Su Jiyai already knew that the woman was Ruby.
Ruby smiled faintly.
“Yes. You passed out for a while in each dinsion you traveled, and by the ti you woke up, we were in another world. You didn’t notice because I used my SS-rank veil to stay invisible. I couldn’t reveal myself to you. It would’ve caused a ti paradox.”
Everyone listened quietly, trying to process what Ruby was saying.
Ruby continued,
“While following you through the worlds, I realized that it was a good opportunity to hide things that can only be found by you. So I hid the zombie virus antidote scrolls across different dinsions. Seven of them in total. You believed there were nine because your subconscious filled the missing mory gaps.”
Su Jiyai frowned, her mind spinning. “So… there were only seven scrolls?”
Ruby nodded. “Yes. And to protect ti’s balance, your mory was sealed after I left. That’s why you didn’t rember being there. However, I did constantly tell you that the scrolls are stored in different dinsions.”
Su Jiyai finally understood. “That explains everything…” she murmured, eyes wide.
Then she looked back at Ruby. “But what did you an earlier when you said you were waiting for to rescue you?”
Ruby smiled softly, her eyes glimring with warmth.
“I never told anyone this, but after all my missions, I gained a new ability… divination. It showed glimpses of the future. I knew that soday, you would complete the mission and use up one of the L-Rank rewards you have earned to call back.”
Su Jiyai stood frozen, her heart swelling with emotion. For a long mont, she couldn’t speak.
Then she stepped forward and pulled Ruby into a tight hug. “Welco back, Ruby,” she whispered. “You’ve been gone too long.”
Ruby smiled and hugged her back. “I’m ho now.”
“Hey! Hey! She is my wife! I didn’t even get the chance to talk with her! How can you hog her! Feng, go and manage your wife!” Jake stated and imdiately whipped Ruby away.
In the past years… he had missed her terribly!
