Capítulo 628: Chapter 628: Jacob’s Power

Jacob couldn’t explain the feeling running through his body.

His heart was racing, his head was spinning, and everything he had tried to bury for years suddenly ca rushing back.

“Why not talk once inside the room?” Jacob asked softly, earning approval from both Su Jiyai and Qin Feng. Once inside the room, Su Jiyai motioned for Jacob to sit.

He slowly sat down, rubbing his temples as flashes of his old mories struck him one by one.

“I rember…” he began, his voice shaking. “I rember the lake… Anna fell into it, and I jumped right after her. I was trying to save her, but…”

He paused and took a deep breath. His eyes darkened.

“A zombie lunged at from behind. I didn’t even see it coming. It bit , and I… I changed.”

Su Jiyai listened quietly. Her heart was beating fast, but she didn’t interrupt him.

Jacob’s voice trembled.

“But because I was a vampire, the virus couldn’t completely take over my body. I didn’t turn into a mindless zombie. I was stuck as a half-zombie. My mind… it was rotting. I couldn’t think clearly. I could only walk toward Anna’s scent, my instincts dragging toward the lake again.”

He closed his eyes tightly.

“Then… I was caught. So people captured before I could reach her. I didn’t even understand what was happening. They took to a laboratory and locked inside a glass chamber.”

Su Jiyai frowned. “A laboratory? Was it the sa kind that worked with the institutes?”

Jacob nodded slowly.

“Yes. They started experinting on every day. I rember needles, bright lights, and pain that felt endless. I scread, but no one listened. I didn’t even know how long it lasted. Days? Months? Maybe years.”

He clenched his fists, trembling.

“And slowly, my mind began to fade. I started hearing voices in my head. I couldn’t rember my na anymore. Then one day, they gave a new one. They called Narak.”

Qin Feng, who had been quiet till now, gasped softly. “They nad you that? Not you yourself?”

Jacob nodded again.

“They made believe I was soone else. They… put fake mories inside my head. mories of betrayal. mories where my wife and children betrayed , left to die. I believed all of it. I thought the woman and the child in those mories were Anna and my daughter. But they weren’t. They were all lies.”

Su Jiyai’s chest tightened. “So that’s why you said you were betrayed…”

Jacob looked down at his hands.

“Yes. I was programd to believe it. They told my mission was to destroy humanity, to take revenge for my betrayal. I didn’t even know it was fake. I just followed what my mind told to do.”

His voice cracked.

“When they were done with , they threw away like garbage. I wandered for years, killing, conquering, and gathering zombies around . I thought it was my purpose. I thought I was doing what was right. But now I see it… I was just their puppet.”

Only the sound of their breathing could be heard.

Su Jiyai stared at her father with pity. “Those devils… they did the sa to everyone.”

Qin Feng frowned. “You an Jake, too?”

Su Jiyai nodded grimly. “Yes. They captured Jake and experinted on him, too. They turned him into sothing inhuman. And now, we find out they did the sa to Jacob. They really wanted every person connected to the zombie virus antidote to suffer.”

She sighed, her voice low.

“They made Mother fall into a corrosive lake. They made Princess Ruby disappear. Now we don’t even know if she’s alive or dead.”

Jacob looked at her, his eyes filled with pain. “Ruby… she was Anna’s best friend…”

Su Jiyai nodded sadly. “Yes. And no one ever found her.”

Jacob’s eyes turned misty. “They ruined everything. My family, my people… my mind.”

Su Jiyai took a slow breath and looked at him with soft eyes. “What happened after that?”

Jacob gave a weak smile.

“After years of wandering, I slowly beca strong. My power kept growing. I didn’t understand it then, but my body was mutating. Eventually, I beca the Zombie King. The world called Narak. I destroyed so many cities, thinking it was revenge. But it was just their plan all along.”

Su Jiyai’s gaze softened even more. She could see the guilt and exhaustion in his eyes.

She whispered, “You were never the villain, Father. You were a victim too.”

Jacob looked at her in surprise. “You’re not angry?”

Su Jiyai gave a small, sad smile. “I was angry once. But now I understand. You didn’t choose this path. You were forced into it.”

Jacob sighed deeply. “I still did horrible things, Jiyai. I killed so many. I can never erase that.”

Su Jiyai sat beside him. “Then atone for it. You can still do sothing good now.”

He looked at her curiously. “What do you an?”

She turned to face him.

“You have all those zombie crystals. You have resources. You can use them to help others. Hand out the antidote to the zombies outside. Cure them. Save lives instead of ending them.”

Jacob’s lips trembled. “You want to give the antidote… to the others?”

“Yes,” Su Jiyai said softly. “Think of it as your way of saying sorry. Maybe it will help you find peace.”

Jacob’s eyes filled with tears again. He hugged her tightly, his voice breaking.

“Jiyai… I don’t deserve such kindness. I tried to kill you once.”

Su Jiyai froze for a mont, then slowly hugged him back. “But you didn’t. You stopped. And that’s what matters now.”

Qin Feng smiled faintly from the side. “She’s right, Mr. Jacob. You have a second chance.”

Jacob nodded, wiping his tears. “Then I’ll do it. I’ll give them all the antidote.”

Just as he said that, Su Jiyai suddenly rembered sothing and asked quickly,

“Wait, Father. Do you still have any powers from before?”

Jacob frowned slightly and looked at his hands. “Powers? I’m not sure…”

He focused for a mont, and suddenly his eyes flashed faint blue.

The table beside him shook violently, and a strong wind rushed through the room.

Qin Feng’s eyes widened. “You still have your strength!”

Jacob looked surprised. “Yes… I still have super strength and super speed.”

Before they could celebrate, Jacob suddenly let out a loud roar. The sound was deep, echoing through the entire base.

Su Jiyai and Qin Feng instantly stepped back, alard. Su Jiyai shouted, “Father! Stop!”

Jacob’s eyes glowed faintly again, and for a second, he looked like a zombie once more.

Su Jiyai’s heart sank. “The antidote didn’t work completely?”

Qin Feng gritted his teeth. “Get ready. If he loses control, we have to subdue him.”

But before they could move, Jacob suddenly stopped roaring. His eyes widened in shock. “Wait… I can still… hear them.”

Su Jiyai blinked. “Hear who?”

Jacob turned to her, his voice trembling. “The zombies. I can hear their minds. I can still control them.”

Su Jiyai’s eyes widened. “What? You can control them?”

Jacob nodded, stunned. “Yes. They’re all outside… standing still. They’re listening to .”

Just then, Su Jiyai’s system beeped in her mind.

[Alert: Thousands of zombies detected outside Hope Base. They are not attacking. They are forming a line.]

Su Jiyai gasped. “It’s true. They’re standing in a line outside!”

Qin Feng blinked in disbelief. “They’re not attacking? Then…”

Su Jiyai looked at her father with amazent. “You’re still their king, but now you can use that to help them.”

Jacob nodded slowly, his face full of realization. “I can lead them to the cure.”

The system beeped again. [Host, suggest distributing antidotes to all lined zombies. Estimated number: 12,430.]

Su Jiyai imdiately turned to her system and asked it to issue an order.

“All soldiers, listen carefully,” she ordered. “Bring all remaining antidotes. Prepare to distribute them to the zombies outside. Immobilize each one safely and pour the antidote into their mouths. Do not attack unless attacked first.”

Her voice echoed through every device in the base. Soldiers across the defense wall froze, then quickly saluted.

“Yes, Boss Su!”

Within minutes, the base beca alive with movent.

Soldiers ran toward the storage rooms, grabbing crates of glowing blue vials.

Others loaded them onto vehicles and rushed toward the gates.

Outside, the sight was surreal. Thousands of zombies stood in neat lines, silent and unmoving.

Their empty eyes were fixed forward, waiting.

Jacob stood beside Su Jiyai, watching them with disbelief. “They’re really waiting for …”

Su Jiyai nodded. “Because deep inside, they still recognize you as their leader.”

As the soldiers began distributing the antidote, one by one, the zombies started to collapse, their bodies glowing faintly.

So scread, others trembled. Then slowly, their gray skin began turning human again.

Jacob fell to his knees, tears streaming down his face. “Thank you, Jiyai… Thank you for giving a chance to fix what I destroyed.”

Su Jiyai smiled softly. “Don’t thank , Father. This is what family does. We fix what others break.”
