Chapter 615: Chapter 615: Rituals?

His instincts told him that the relationship between his precious granddaughter and this man wasn’t simple at all.

His voice turned low. “Who is this man?”

Qin Feng froze for a second but quickly straightened his back. Su Jiyai didn’t hesitate.

“He is my boyfriend,” she said in a calm voice. “And my future partner.”

Qin Feng’s eyes widened slightly at her words.

Then he quickly composed himself and stood even straighter, trying to look strong and reliable in front of the king.

The king looked at him carefully, then turned his gaze back to Su Jiyai. His expression was unreadable for a long mont.

Finally, he spoke softly. “If that is the case, then… are you going to perform the ritual? When will you turn him?”

The words stunned everyone.

Su Jiyai froze. Qin Feng froze too. Xi Ping tilted her head, completely confused.

“What ritual?” Su Jiyai asked cautiously.

The king chuckled lightly, but his eyes were serious.

“A vampire can live for thousands, even tens of thousands of years. You don’t intend to let your partner remain a weak human, do you? Humans only live for a hundred years at most. You plan to turn him into a vampire, don’t you?”

The atmosphere turned still.

Su Jiyai’s heart skipped a beat. She glanced at Qin Feng. His face was pale, his lips pressed tightly together.

For a long mont, silence filled the room.

Finally, Su Jiyai answered in a calm voice. “I haven’t considered that yet.”

The king’s gaze imdiately sharpened.

He turned his eyes to Qin Feng, a hint of murderous light flashing.

“What is it then? Do you not want to beco a vampire? Is that why she hasn’t turned you?”

Qin Feng stiffened under the king’s pressure. Honestly, the king wasn’t powerful to the extent that he could make Qin Feng kneel, but the re fact that the king was Su Jiyai’s grandfather was enough to make Qin Feng a bit nervous.

But before he could say anything, Su Jiyai stepped in front of him. Her eyes were cold.

“He is not the one to decide,” she said firmly. “And you are not in a position to ask anything about it.”

Her tone carried warning, and the king blinked at her boldness.

After a long silence, he sighed heavily. His aura faded.

“I understand,” he said softly. “But you should think about it. A human’s life is short. If you really want him as your partner, then you should not let him wither away while you live for thousands of years.”

Su Jiyai frowned but didn’t reply.

Instead, she narrowed her eyes slightly. “How do you know so much about humans?”

The king gave a small laugh.

“Because humans once lived in this world, too. Long ago, humans and vampires shared this land. But because humans had short lifespans, they slowly began to die out. Many of them chose to be turned into vampires. The trend spread. One by one, humans disappeared until the entire human civilization was gone. That is why I know much about them.”

Su Jiyai nodded slowly, digesting his words.

Behind her, Qin Feng adjusted Jake on his back. “We should go,” he said quietly.

“Alright,” Su Jiyai replied.

Together, the four of them, Su Jiyai, Qin Feng carrying Jake, and Xi Ping, turned to leave the room.

The king sat back down on his throne, watching their figures disappear.

His hands trembled on the armrest.

When the door closed, Ronald, who had been standing silently all this ti, finally spoke.

“Your Majesty,” he said carefully. “Are you truly letting them leave? That girl with brown hair, shouldn’t we stop her?”

There was sothing else that the king didn’t tell Su Jiyai.

Vampires and humans indeed used to coexist. But at that ti, humans were unaware of vampires’ presence. Once they got to know about the vampires’ existence… they were either killed or were converted into a vampire.

The king narrowed his eyes, rembering Xi Ping’s figure standing near Qin Feng.

He shook his head slowly. “No. Whoever cos to the vampire world has no choice. Sooner or later, she will have to transform into a vampire. That is the rule. That is a must.”

Su Jiyai had no idea about the secret conversation between the king and Ronald.

She was busy with her own thoughts.

After helping Qin Feng carry Jake into her room, she carefully placed him on the bed.

His face looked pale, but at least his breathing was steady.

She crossed her arms and sighed. “It’s better if we guard him until he wakes up,” she said softly.

Qin Feng nodded right away. “I agree. He’s too important to leave alone. We don’t know what that old king is planning.”

Xi Ping also nodded. “I’ll take turns with you guys. I don’t trust this place. It feels dangerous everywhere.”

So, for the next few days, all four of them stayed in the vampire world, but they rarely went outside.

Sotis they collected herbs when needed, but mostly they remained close to Su Jiyai’s quarters.

The king didn’t make any trouble for them.

In fact, to their surprise, he even acted friendly when they saw him in the halls.

He would nod, smile, and sotis ask if they needed help.

But none of them lowered their guard, especially Qin Feng.

Just like that, four days passed.

On the morning of the fifth day, sothing changed.

Jake’s fingers twitched. His eyelids trembled, then slowly opened.

He stared at the ceiling above him for a long mont. His vision blurred, but soon everything beca clear.

And then, tears welled up in his eyes.

His lips moved, and a single na escaped. “Ruby…”

The mont he thought of Ruby, his heart clenched.

He sat up quickly, looking around the unfamiliar room. He searched every corner with desperate eyes, but she was nowhere to be found.

“No… it’s impossible,” he whispered. His voice shook. “Why am I back in the vampire world? Why… why here of all places?”

As mories rushed back, his breathing turned sharp. He rembered everything….the ti that had passed, the way he had forgotten about his mories and Su Jiyai. His eyes widened suddenly.

“Su Jiyai!” he shouted, his voice echoing in the hall.

In the adjacent room, Su Jiyai was quietly reading an old book.

At first, she frowned at the sudden voice. She raised her head sharply.

“That’s Jake,” she said.

Qin Feng, who was cultivating beside her, glanced at her.

Their eyes t, and without another word, both of them stood and rushed toward Jake’s room.

When they entered, Jake’s eyes locked on Su Jiyai imdiately.

Relief filled his face. He stumbled forward, arms opening like he wanted to hug her.

But before he could, Qin Feng stepped right between them, blocking his way.

“What do you think you’re doing?” Qin Feng snapped. “Why are you acting like this with her?”

Jake stopped in his tracks. He looked at Qin Feng up and down, then let out a tired sigh.

His voice was low. “Destiny is truly strange…”

Qin Feng frowned. “What are you muttering about?”

Jake shook his head slowly. “It’s nothing.” Then his gaze shifted back to Su Jiyai. His eyes softened, filled with tenderness.

“Su Jiyai,” he said quietly, “I… I rember everything now.”

Su Jiyai’s brows lifted. Her heart skipped a beat. She took a small step forward. “You rember? That’s good.”

She paused, sensing sothing from his tone. “Do you rember sothing about my parents?”

Jake nodded slowly. “Yes. I do.”

In an instant, Su Jiyai’s eyes brightened. Her hand shot out and gripped Jake’s hand tightly. “Tell . Please. What do you know?”

Jake looked at her for a mont, then turned serious. He pointed toward the room. “We should talk inside. Privately.”

Without waiting, he dragged Su Jiyai inside and closed the door behind them.

Qin Feng’s face darkened. He followed right after. When Jake noticed, his expression turned cold.

His lips parted as if he were about to order Qin Feng to stay outside.

But Su Jiyai spoke first. “He needs to hear it, too.”

Jake froze. He closed his eyes, then let out a long breath. Finally, he opened them and gave Qin Feng an impassive look.

“Fine,” Jake said. “You can co in.”

Qin Feng’s chest flooded with relief. He nodded quickly and stepped in, closing the door behind him.

Inside the room, Jake stood by the bed, his expression dark.

“Su Jiyai,” he said slowly. “You are my brother’s daughter.”

Su Jiyai’s lips curved faintly. “I already know that much.”

Jake nodded. “Good. Then I’ll tell you what you really want to know. How your parents ended up on Earth… and why.”

Her eyes locked on him.

“Yes. That’s what I need to know. Why were they on Earth? Why did they leave there? What happened to them?”

Jake’s eyes turned misty. He looked down at his hands, clenching them slightly.

After a long pause, he raised his head.

“It’s a long story,” he whispered. “But I hope you’ll listen until the end.”

“I will,” Su Jiyai said firmly.
