Chapter 609: Chapter 609: Blood Crystals
After a while, he shook his head. “No. He should not be here. I heard he left for a visit to another country.”
Hearing that, Su Jiyai finally loosened her fist a little.
“Good,” she muttered under her breath.
Even though she knew she was stronger than Ronald, that didn’t guarantee she could overpower the third prince.
But at the sa ti, she had more than seven or eight powers, along with her vampire powers and even her werewolf bloodline.
Deep in her heart, she felt the third prince wouldn’t be more than an ant if they clashed.
She almost regretted he wasn’t here.
A part of her wanted to end him right now. But she pushed that feeling down and hid it behind a calm face.
“Lead ,” she said calmly.
Ronald nodded without protest this ti.
He walked ahead, his steps filled with purpose echoed in the mansion’s empty hallway.
Soon, they reached a wide staircase lined with elegant railings.
Su Jiyai rembered these staircases. She almost could see her life flying away when she was being chased.
At the center of the wall above the staircase, a massive portrait hung.
Su Jiyai stopped dead in her tracks. Her breath hitched as her eyes locked on the painting.
The woman in the portrait looked at least eighty percent like her.
Sa blue hair, sa delicate features, even the sa gentle eyes.
Her heart squeezed painfully. For a long mont, she was enchanted, unable to look away.
Her fist clenched again. Her voice trembled as she asked,
“Is there… any way I can do a DNA test? To compare myself with her?”
Ronald shook his head imdiately.
“No. From what I know, after His Majesty lost his two sons, he completely shut down everything regarding Princess Ruby and Princess Anna. All records were erased, all traces hidden.”
Su Jiyai turned to him sharply. “Two sons? Who is His Majesty?”
Ronald looked at her like she had just asked him what blood was.
His eyes were wide, full of disbelief.
“You don’t even know that?”
But then, he stopped himself.
A mory flashed in his head.
He once knew a vampire who looked so much like him, and that vampire had not even known that fairies and werewolves existed in their world.
(A/n: He is talking about Jake.)
The corner of Ronald’s lips twitched, and suddenly he chuckled.
Su Jiyai raised an eyebrow. “What’s so funny? Why are you laughing?”
Ronald shook his head, still chuckling.
“For a mont, I thought of a certain vampire. He once caused chaos in this mansion, making such a big scene, and yet he didn’t even know the basics of our world. You reminded of him.”
Su Jiyai rolled her eyes. “I wasn’t asking for cody. I asked who His Majesty is.”
Ronald finally cald down. He looked at her seriously and said,
“His Majesty is the Vampire King of this world.”
Su Jiyai crossed her arms.
“That much I already figured. What I want to know is, what happened with his sons?”
Ronald’s lips pressed into a line. He stared at her for a long mont before sighing.
“You really are like an innocent cub. Tell , have you only been born recently? What is your age again?”
Su Jiyai blinked at the question. She hesitated, then answered honestly,
“I’m almost twenty-two this year.”
Ronald’s eyes widened in disbelief.
“Impossible. Absolutely impossible. How can a twenty-two-year-old have the aura of a Celestial Vampire Lord? Do you realize that even His Majesty himself could not reach that level so young? He only managed it after one hundred years of cultivation and power!”
Su Jiyai was stunned for a mont, then she quickly let out a laugh.
“Do you really believe ? You must be joking. I was teasing you earlier. I’m almost two hundred years old. You think I’m that young?”
Ronald exhaled heavily, relief washing over his face. He even patted his own chest.
“For a mont, I almost wanted to throw you into prison. You don’t know how dangerous this is. There are experints happening everywhere. If you really were so strange twenty-two-year-old with that aura, I would think you were one of those experints. It would have been too risky to let you roam free.”
Su Jiyai chuckled lightly. “Well, aren’t you dramatic.”
But her eyes returned to the portrait.
Her voice softened, though it carried curiosity.
“Tell about the two sons. Tell about Princess Ruby and Princess Anna.”
Ronald hesitated at first, but then he gave in.
“Fine. I won’t hide it this ti. His Majesty once had two sons. One was adopted. His na was Pierce. The other was His Majesty’s biological son. His na was Jacob.”
Su Jiyai froze. Jacob. Her heart thumped hard.
Could Jacob be Jake? She couldn’t jump to conclusions yet. She needed to hear the rest.
She gestured with her hand. “Continue. Don’t stop there.”
Ronald nodded.
“Both Prince Jacob and Prince Pierce suddenly vanished into thin air. Until now, no one knows where they are. But the strangest thing was, Princess Ruby and Princess Anna were the first ones to disappear. Not long after, Prince Jacob and Prince Pierce vanished as well.”
Su Jiyai’s chest felt tight.
Disappearances… family mbers gone one by one.
Various possibilities flashed in her mind.
Ronald leaned closer, his voice dropping as if sharing a secret.
“And let tell you sothing even more curious. From what I know, Prince Jacob loved Princess Anna. And Prince Pierce… he loved Princess Ruby.”
Su Jiyai’s eyes widened. “Wait. Jacob… loved Anna? But wasn’t Anna a princess too…”
Ronald nodded quickly.
“Well. Princess Anna was not a real princess. She was only a study companion. She was given the title of princess later, because she once saved Princess Ruby’s life. But His Majesty was against the relationship. He never wanted Prince Jacob to love her.”
Su Jiyai’s head spun with the revelations.
She bit her lip, then whispered almost to herself,
“If Jacob was Jake… and Anna looked like … then…”
Her fingers trembled slightly as she touched the edge of the staircase railing.
Ronald tilted his head. “What are you muttering about?”
Su Jiyai shook her head quickly. “Nothing. Just thinking.”
However, in her heart, Su Jiyai thought about how Jake was her father, and for a mont she almost wanted to run back and confront him right away.
The idea almost made her want to close her eyes in dismay.
But then, her mind cooled a little.
She rembered the DNA test that had already been done between Jake and her.
The results had shown they were biologically related, but now, with this story about Jacob and Anna, she felt doubt.
Was the test wrong? Or maybe her own conclusion was wrong from the beginning?
She shook her head slightly. ‘I shouldn’t rush,’ she thought. ‘I can’t jump to any conclusion yet.’
Taking a deep breath, she turned her head toward Ronald.
“Do you… have any pictures of Prince Pierce and Prince Jacob?” she asked carefully.
Ronald raised his eyebrows high, his expression turning puzzled.
“Why do you want to see them? Why are you so interested in the princes of the last generation?”
Su Jiyai chuckled softly, though a glint flashed in her eyes.
“I was just wondering if either of them might be related to . Who knows, maybe I’m so long-lost princess of your vampire empire.”
Ronald blinked, then let out a low chuckle.
“You don’t need to guess like that. It’s very simple to know if you are a long-lost princess or not.”
Su Jiyai tilted her head. “And how is that?”
Ronald straightened his back proudly.
“We have a blood crystal. It can determine if soone carries the blood of royalty. If you truly have royal blood, the crystal will show it. No need to waste ti looking at old pictures.”
Su Jiyai stared at him blankly.
“Wait… then why didn’t you say that before? Why did you let keep asking all these questions?”
Ronald smirked a little and gave her a sideways look.
His voice was cool.
“Do you really think I would let just anyone drop their blood on the blood crystal? That artifact is reserved for the nobility. Almost no commoner is allowed to even touch it, much less test their bloodline.”
Su Jiyai frowned, her lips pressing tight.
She looked at Ronald, then slowly blinked, her eyes softening.
With a tender expression, she whispered,
“But if I am truly related to your aunt, then you might miss the only chance of acknowledging as your sister. Wouldn’t that be sad?”
Ronald’s body stiffened.
His heart sank bitterly.
‘Sister?’ he thought. ‘That’s not what I want her to be…’
His feelings weren’t that pure, and he knew it.
But he also thought about sothing else: if Su Jiyai really turned out to be connected to the four legendary people who had disappeared long ago, then this discovery would shake the whole empire.
It would be a huge breakthrough.
