Chapter 495: Chapter 495: Kill You

Su Jiyai tried to use her superpower, but soon realized that sothing was wrong.

She tried to use her inner Qi to fly toward the portal, however for so reason, she couldn’t use her power at all.

Instead, she felt weak. As if there was no power left in her body.

With slight panic in her heart, she asked the auxiliary system,

“Hey… why can’t I use my powers?”

[Please try to activate it again.]

Su Jiyai channeled her inner Qi and yet didn’t feel anything.

“No… I can’t feel it.”

[Activating health checkup.]

[Scanning the host…]

[Scanning completed.]

[There is nothing wrong with your body.]

Su Jiyai frowned.

If there was nothing wrong with her body, then why can’t she use her powers? Sothing wasn’t making sense at all!

After thinking for a while, she asked,

“Is there any side effect of Magic Dust?”

[Searching for answers…]

[Answer found. Usually, Magic Dust doesn’t have any side effects. Until and unless there is sothing amiss with your environnt. In case the death energy is too heavy, the side effect may be triggered. You will need to process the powers you have tried to absorb, and only then will your power return.]

“Sh*t!” Su Jiyai muttered.

She was really f*cked up this ti.

Even if her system was the worst, at least it had basic security asures. But this… auxillary AI is completely useless!

Soon, she crawled to where the portal was and tried to leave, however, an unknown force was preventing her from leaving.

Su Jiyai groaned in pain and thought of all the possible reasons as to why she couldn’t leave.

That was when it clicked in her mind,

“Sh*t… Elisha is dead, and I had used Elisha’s chip to enter this place… then how should I leave now?”

Just as she thought, a notification popped up.

[Ding! Danger detected.]

[Initiating security asures…]

[Security asures failed due to the absence of the main system.]

[Ding! Secondary ergency asures activated…]

[Trying…]

Beep. Beep. Beep.

[Activation completed.]

[To ensure the Host’s safety, a hint will be given.]

[Hint: The Devil will arrive in the next 30 minutes. Please evacuate or hide.]

“What the hell… sh*t…” That was what Su Jiyai could only think.

30 minutes.

Instead of wasting it, Su Jiyai decided to hide.

“Auxiliary AI, can you hide my presence during the ti the Devil arrives?”

[Yes. Due to the upgrades, I have been allotted so power. I can hide your presence for 1 hour. However, once 1 hour passes, I can’t do anything. I can extend the protection for the next 20 minutes, but after that, I will stop functioning.]

Su Jiyai bit her lips and asked,

“Can’t you teleport ?”

[ I don’t have that much authority.]

“Then, how about short-term teleportation?” Su Jiyai questioned.

[Checking available energy reserves…]

[Calculating short-range teleportation possibilities…]

[Result: One-ti short-range teleportation possible. Max range: 300 ters. Cooldown: 12 hours.]

“Tch.” Su Jiyai clicked her tongue.

That wasn’t far at all. Not enough to escape this place. But maybe… just maybe, it was enough to find a good hiding spot.

“Fine. Hold onto that teleport until I say. I’ll decide where to go.”

[Command received. Teleportation function on standby.]

With her legs still trembling and her breath ragged, Su Jiyai scanned the surroundings.

She passed shattered pillars, crumbled statues, and the corpses of the six devils she had just looted.

Their bodies lay unnaturally still. Twisted. Empty. Soulless.

Su Jiyai’s heart thumped faster.

Sohow, they felt like cursed relics now.

Like the longer she stared at them, the more likely she was to go insane.

She turned her head and stopped in her tracks.

At the far edge of the chamber, half-covered in shadows and debris, was a narrow crack in the wall. A tunnel? A crevice?

She limped closer, gritting her teeth.

It was a tunnel. Barely enough space for soone to crawl in.

But it was dark. Deep. Safe-looking, maybe.

“Auxiliary AI,” she whispered, “scan that tunnel.”

[Scanning…]

[Structural integrity: Weak but stable.]

[Depth: Unknown. Estimated length—approximately 200 ters.]

[Chance of discovery from outside: Low.]

Perfect.

“Alright,” Su Jiyai muttered. “Send inside. Right at the end of the tunnel.”

[Short-range teleportation initiated.]

[3… 2… 1…]

In a flash of blue light, her body disappeared and reappeared deep inside the tunnel.

The mont she landed, Su Jiyai dropped to her knees, her body still burning from all the power fusion.

Her breathing turned ragged.

“When the devil would be about to arrive… hide my presence.”

[Alright, host.]

[Tir started: 20 minutes 12 seconds]

[Tir started: 19 minutes 55 seconds]

[Tir started: 19 minutes 20 seconds]

….

Su Jiyai didn’t know how much ti had passed.

She only knew one thing. Pain. Waves of pain washed over her, and she, like a drowning person, could only hold onto her dear life.

[Tir started: 3 seconds]

[Tir started: 2 seconds]

[Tir started: 1 seconds]

[Devil is about to arrive.]

[Hiding your presence.]

At the sa ti.

On the throne, where a motionless back figure was sitting, it suddenly pulsated with life.

The mont its eyes, hidden behind the black cloak, opened, it sensed the chaos and frowned.

“All six pawns are killed?” The devil muttered. Its words were laced with slight surprise but there wasn’t much emotion

The Devil slowly stood up from the throne, his black cloak dragging against the cold stone floor.

The air shifted with his movent — heavier, darker, almost suffocating. A powerful presence rolled out from him like an invisible tide.

He walked down the stairs, each step echoing through the silent chamber.

His gaze swept over the broken bodies of the six devils, his pawns, who had been crushed, burned, or sliced open.

“I see,” he said in a low voice, kneeling beside one of them.

He placed his gloved hand on the corpse’s chest. A thin, blood-red mist rose from the wound and curled around his fingers.

“Since they are useless, I will absorb their soul.”

The blood-red mist snaked up into the Devil’s palm, vanishing into his skin like water into sand.

A faint red glow flickered in his eyes, and his mouth curled into a cold smirk.

“Even in death, you’re of so use,” he muttered, standing up and glancing around the ruined chamber.

His fingers twitched.

“A foreign presence…” he murmured, eyes narrowing.

He tilted his head, sniffing the air like a predator catching the scent of prey.

Faint. So faint. But not gone.

Whoever did this… they were still here.

He closed his eyes and extended his senses outward.

Darkness responded.

Shadows twisted and danced like living things, whispering secrets into his ears.

“A woman,” he said after a pause. “Wounded. Strong… but not whole.”

A faint chuckle escaped his lips.

“How interesting.”

He turned his head to the left wall — the one with the tunnel hidden behind debris.

Though no movent was visible, the Devil’s lips curved upward. Amused.

“But not foolish. She hides well.”

He took one step toward the wall—

But suddenly, he stopped.

The shadows whispered louder now, but not about the girl.

They spoke of sothing else. Sothing wrong.

A mark.

A presence that shouldn’t be.

“Oh… the administrator’s tis out, huh?” The Devil said in a mused voice.

Su Jiyai broke out in a cold sweat. The mont the Devil appeared, she felt a dark, suffocating pressure on her heart.

Even breathing becos difficult.

Hearing the Devil’s words, she cursed the system,

“Didn’t you say that you could hide my presence?”

[I did. However, it may not be as it seems. Your presence will be hidden, and you will be seen as one of the administrator’s subordinates. The Devil can’t attack you for the next 1 hour.]

Su Jiyai gritted her teeth.

“Then why does it feel like he’s staring right at ?” she whispered.

[Because he is staring at you. But not as Su Jiyai. He sees you as soone else. Soone he shouldn’t touch.]

That didn’t help her feel any safer.

The Devil took a step forward, then stopped again.

His voice ca, low and sharp, slicing through the air like a cold blade.

“So, you’re his dog.”

Su Jiyai’s heartbeat froze.

The Devil’s tone held no fear. No rage. Only contempt.

She felt like a bug under a microscope — not in danger yet, but a single wrong twitch and she’d be squashed.

“I don’t know what ga the Administrator is playing,” the Devil said, glancing sideways at the crumbled throne, “but sending you here, at a ti like this… interesting move.”

He turned his back to the tunnel, walking away, but not fast, like he wanted her to hear.

“But no matter. Once one hour is over, the protection will fade…”

He didn’t finish the sentence.

He didn’t need to.

Su Jiyai’s breath caught in her throat.

[Tir: 59 minutes 48 seconds]

[Tir: 59 minutes 47 seconds]

Each second ticking down felt like a hamr against her chest.

“Auxiliary AI,” she hissed, her voice trembling but low, “what happens after one hour?”

[Protection fades. You will be exposed. If the Devil still remains nearby, he can kill you.]
