Chapter 389: Chapter 389: Jade Pendant Chapter 389: Chapter 389: Jade Pendant But Su Jin couldn’t answer.

He just sat there, staring at nothing, knowing his life was completely destroyed.

Su Rong looked worried and asked, “What are you going to do now Dad?” Su Jin looked at her with a hopeless expression on his face and said, “I don’t know.

Maybe we all should leave the base and go sowhere else.” A hint of irritation flashed in Su Rong’s eyes, which suppressed and said with a serious expression, “Dad you are right, we all should leave…however…” Su Jin saw her hesitant expression and asked, “What happened?” “The money…you still haven’t figured out how to pay off the money demanded by Du Xiao and Ma Xing.” Su Jin’s face darkened.

He had almost forgotten about that.

Du Xiao and Ma Xing didn’t just want his confession—they wanted money too.

A lot of it.

More than he could ever afford right now.

Su Jin ran a hand through his hair, frustration building inside him.”I don’t have that kind of money,” he muttered.

Su Rong bit her lip.

“Then what are you gonna do?

If you don’t pay, they won’t let us leave peacefully.” Su Jin clenched his fists.

His whole body felt weak, but his mind was racing.

“There has to be another way,” he mumbled.

“Father, I did co across a way to make quick money.” Su Rong said.

Su Jin was instantly interested and asked, “What is it?” “Father, do you rember the antiques left by grandfather?

The one you have brought with you?” Su Rong asked.

Su Jin frowned, trying to rember.

Then, his eyes widened a little.

“You an… the old box with those weird-looking items?” he asked.

Su Rong nodded.

“Yes!

Those are antiques, Dad.

They might be worth a lot of money.” Su Jin rubbed his chin.

He had almost forgotten about them.

His father had collected strange old things before he passed away.

Su Jin never cared much for them, but he kept them out of habit.

“Do you really think they’re valuable?” he asked, doubt in his voice.

Su Rong sighed.

“I don’t know for sure, but it’s our best shot.

There are collectors in the base who love rare stuff.

If we’re lucky, we might get enough money to pay Du Xiao and Ma Xing off.” Su Jin’s expression turned serious.

He stood up, swaying a little, then steadied himself.

“Alright,” he said.

“Let’s check them out.” Su Rong quickly went to the small storage space in the corner of the room.

She pulled out a dusty wooden box and placed it on the table.

Su Jin opened the box and looked inside.

There were old coins, small jade ornants, a rusty dagger, and a few scrolls with strange writing on them.

Su Rong carefully picked up a jade pendant.

It was smooth, cold to the touch, and had a faint glow under the dim light.

“This one looks important,” she said.

“Maybe we should ask an expert.” Su Jin nodded.

“Alright.

We’ll find soone who knows about these things tomorrow.” Su Rong nodded too, but a glint appeared in her eyes …..

The next morning, Su Rong and Su Jin walked through the busy streets of the base.

People moved past them in a hurry, and rchants called out their prices for food, weapons, and supplies.

But Su Rong ignored everything.

Her focus was on the small shop at the end of the street—the appraiser’s shop.

She pushed open the wooden door, and a small bell rang.

Inside, an old man with sharp eyes sat behind a counter.

His na was Old Xu, and he was one of the best appraisers in the base.

Old Xu looked up and studied them carefully.

“What do you have for ?” he asked in a calm voice.

Su Rong pulled out the jade pendant and placed it on the counter.

“Can you tell us how much this is worth?” Old Xu’s eyes widened slightly as he picked up the pendant.

He turned it over in his hand, examining it closely.

Then, he held it up to the light, his fingers brushing over the carvings.

“This is…

interesting,” he murmured.

“Where did you get this?” “It belonged to my grandfather,” Su Jin said.

“We’re hoping to sell it.” Old Xu looked at them for a long mont before nodding.

“You’re in luck.

This piece is rare.

I’ll give you one million points for it.” Su Jin gasped.

“One million?” “Yes,” Old Xu confird.

“But I’ll only pay if you agree right now.” Su Jin didn’t even think twice.

“Deal!” he said eagerly.

“Give us the points.” Old Xu smiled and quickly made the transfer.

The screen on Su Jin’s communicator beeped, confirming the transaction.

Su Jin grinned, his face full of excitent.

“This is amazing!” Su Jin turned to Su Rong.

“Now we can pay Du Xiao and Ma Xing and leave this place for good.” Su Rong hesitated for a mont, then shook her head.

“Dad, Du Xiao told to deliver the points privately.

He said he doesn’t want any witnesses.” Su Jin’s face darkened.

“That scum!

He’s too scared to face , huh?” Su Rong lowered her eyes and nodded.

“Yeah, he said he doesn’t trust you.

But he trusts .” Su Jin sighed, clearly angry but also relieved.

“Alright, fine.

Just give them the money and get it over with.

After this, we’re done with them.” Su Rong smiled and nodded.

“I will.” Su Jin patted her shoulder.

“Good girl.

I’ll go pack our things.” As soon as Su Jin left the shop, Su Rong turned back to Old Xu, her face serious.

“Give back the pendant,” she said.

Old Xu chuckled.

“Smart girl.

You saw it too, didn’t you?” Su Rong nodded.

In fact, she had seen in her dreams how the jade pendant was sold by her father later for 50 million points.

The jade pendant wasn’t any ordinary commodity, it could boost the cultivation.

However, her father didn’t discover this feature till it was too late.
