"What?"

Hearing this, Ren Huiyan's face imdiately changed, and Jiang Yun also furrowed his brows. The group's gaze turned, and they indeed saw that sothing strange was happening to Dalou.

Luo Shasha was already on the verge of an emotional breakdown. But upon hearing the words from behind her, her tears stopped instantly. She sniffled and looked up, only to see her brother’s entire body glowing with a crimson light coursing through his veins, making him look eerily unsettling.

"My brother... What's happening to him?"

Behind her, Ren Huiyan quickly pulled her away. "Be careful! Your brother’s life force is surging."

"Then he won’t die, right?"

"This definitely ans his ability is changing!" Jiang Yun's expression was serious. "Everyone, step back."

"Why? Shouldn’t we do sothing?" Shasha was visibly anxious.

"There's nothing we can do."

Jiang Yun said, "Right now, he probably won’t die. But we can’t be sure if he's evolving... or degenerating!"

"Yes." Lu Xingchen’s expression was solemn—he had seen this kind of thing before.

Here, both Jiang Yun and Lu Xingchen were Evolution-Level Ability Users, having taken the first true step in developing their abilities. They had a keen sense of energy.

At this mont, they could clearly feel that sothing was changing within Dalou. A massive surge of blood energy was gathering around him, as if an infinite life force was sprouting from within.

Thump—Thump—

Dalou felt his heart pounding wildly. A bloodthirsty madness clouded his mind. The gaping wound in his chest was healing at a speed visible to the naked eye, and his bones and muscles were mutating at the sa ti.

Beneath his already robust skin, his muscles twisted and writhed like living creatures—unnervingly grotesque.

"Ha! Ha!"

He knelt on the ground, his spine shuddering violently. The muscles along his back rippled in waves along his ribs, and his joints cracked and popped.

The imnse pain felt like it was devouring his sanity.

The others watched with alarm, instinctively stepping back. At this mont, Dalou’s presence was overwhelmingly terrifying—like a beast on the verge of mutation.

Many survivors had experienced the Dark Invasion and knew that those severely wounded or killed by Eerie Entities often mutated into zombies or monstrous creatures that would then attack their own comrades. No one dared to be careless.

Several people had already raised their guns, aiming them at Dalou.

Seeing this, Shasha panicked and rushed in front of her brother, shouting at the surrounding people in distress:

"No! He’s my brother! Don’t shoot him!"

"Little girl, get out of the way! He’s dangerous!" soone in the crowd shouted.

"Yes! Step back, now!"

Shasha’s voice was choked with tears. "No! He’s a good person! He won’t hurt anyone—he’s my brother!"

Dalou was still kneeling, his fists clenched in pain. The blood energy around him roared like a storm. But deep inside his consciousness, he heard Shasha’s voice.

A sliver of clarity began to return to his mind.

"Shasha..."

He slowly opened his eyes, looking at the small figure before him.

"From now on, you two siblings will be on my train. We’ll survive together." Lin Xian’s words echoed in his mind.

"Survive together..."

"I can’t die!"

"I CAN’T DIE!!!"

A surge of intense fury erupted from within, instantly washing away the pain and despair clouding his consciousness.

Dalou took a deep breath, his eyes snapping shut. In that instant, everything around him beca crystal clear—the gazes of the people, the worried Shasha, the anxious teammates, and...

—the Beasts that were about to charge over the high wall!

"AHHH!"

Dalou let out a low growl. Under everyone’s stunned gazes, he shot forward with explosive force. The ground beneath his feet cracked under the impact. He grabbed his Steel-Slaying Greatsword, his entire figure turning into a crimson blur as he launched himself toward the high wall like a human projectile.

At that mont—

From the top of the wall, a Crimson Skeletal Horror erged, preparing to unleash a burst of fire to capture its prey.

But just as it climbed out of the hail of gunfire and bullets—

A blood-red shadow was already streaking toward it.

Clang!

The Steel-Slaying Greatsword let out a piercing hum. Dalou charged straight ahead, his sword glowing red-hot. With a single horizontal slash, he cleaved the creature’s skull clean off, slicing through the tal fence atop the high wall like butter.

Boom!

Only then did the shockwave from his rapid strike explode outward, sending several Iron Guard Battalion soldiers stumbling back.

"Brother!" Shasha cried out in shock.

"Such speed!" Jiang Yun’s eyes flickered. With Dalou’s strength—if he has this kind of speed—his combat power is terrifying!

"Haha! No doubt about it—he’s evolved!" Lu Xingchen exclaid with excitent.

The surrounding people were left utterly speechless.

For many of them, this was their first ti witnessing an Ability User’s Evolution, and the sheer power and eeriness of it left a lasting impression.

And now, with Dalou having instantly slain the Eerie Entity, everyone breathed a sigh of relief—though so were left with lingering fear.

Such a powerful Ability User—if he had degenerated into a monster instead... A-Zone would have been dood.

Huff—huff!

Dalou panted heavily, his Steel-Slaying Greatsword still vibrating in his grip. He looked at his teammates below and gave them a silent signal, then turned to Shasha.

"Shasha... Get your gun. More monsters are coming."

"Got it!"

Shasha wiped away her tears and nodded quickly. Without hesitation, she rushed to the ground, grabbing grenade launchers and stuffing them into her backpack.

"Alright, I’m in too!" Lu Xingchen, filled with battle spirit, imdiately joined.

Jiang Yun and Ren Huiyan exchanged glances and let out a breath before diving back into the fight.

Repair!

From his vantage point, Lin Xian tensed up as he completed the scan. He looked at the colossal sky creature drawing closer, feeling a chill run down his spine. He activated his chanical Heart, pushing it to its limits.

Woooo—

Elsewhere, the fire-control radar on the electromagnetic railgun locked onto sothing. The turret base rotated rapidly, targeting a fast-approaching airborne creature.

Buzz!!

Blinding blue light erupted, illuminating the night sky.

A winged monstrosity screeched as it lunged forward, its eerie fangs bared.

"KIKI!" Lin Xian shouted.

KIKI was already reacting. Her eyes glead as she stepped forward. "Finally!"

She thrust out a hand, and the flying monster slamd into an invisible wall mid-air, its body abruptly halting with a thunderous boom.

At the sa ti, the two electromagnetic railguns locked onto the now-stationary target.

BOOM!

Twin railgun blasts tore it apart in mid-air.

"Nice work."

Lin Xian let out a breath. KIKI quickly rushed forward, searching the remains for Eerie Blood Crystals.

"Little money-grubber..." Lin Xian muttered.

But just then—

The entire spaceport suddenly went dark.

"What the hell?!" Lin Xian’s eyes narrowed.

The lights flickered back on seconds later, but sothing was clearly very wrong...

And then ca the urgent shout—

"All anti-air weapons have been reprogramd... They're now protecting an aircraft fleet… escaping from the inner port!"
