Late night, Beauvais Town, secret eting room.
The atmosphere was eerie and heavy, with dull yellow lights casting flickering shadows on the walls.
Plainclothes politician Gustav looked around at all the young officers present, gritting his teeth:
"We must get the rchant and his talents in our hands. I am sure they are in Paris, so we have to go there!"
A young officer looked troubled and spoke up: "We’ve tried going to Paris before, and we lost half of our team in the process!"
"What about that tunnel? That’s where he ca from."
"No use. We need so specialized equipnt to open that armored door," another officer answered helplessly.
"Nonsense!" Gustav slamd the table forcefully, shouting in anger, "There must be a way to open it."
"We’ve studied all the chanisms; it can only be opened from the other side—and possibly only once. We even used explosives, but it’s too sturdy..."
"Damn it! But the rchant must bring food over here, right?"
"Our people are keeping a close watch on him. If he contacts anyone, we’ll know."
"So what should we do?"
"For now, observe how he brings the food here, and then decide. We also need to find so system users with interrogation and tracking skills!"
"I agree."
"I agree too."
"Let’s eat!"
Everyone nodded in agreent.
After reaching a consensus, Gustav’s expression softened a bit. He waved his hand and said, "Let’s eat!"
Their dinner included at, various vegetables, fresh fish, and a large amount of canned food.
There were even a few bottles of expensive wine; the food was abundant, but clearly, six people couldn’t possibly finish it.
However, to them, it was their entitled privilege, and they saw nothing wrong with it.
The next day, early morning.
The deputy, Yak, ca to Lin Yi’s door and gently knocked, "Mr. Lin, are you awake?"
Lin Yi just happened to co out of the shelter and pretended to answer sleepily, "Awake."
"The Commander invites you to join him for breakfast."
"Okay, just a mont."
Soon, Lin Yi ca out of the room.
He had put on a simple black T-shirt, looking energetic and full of vitality.
Seeing this refreshed appearance of Lin Yi, a hint of surprise flashed in Yak’s eyes, but he quickly returned to calm.
After all, he had witnessed Lin Yi’s extraordinary "summoning ability" yesterday and had ntally prepared himself for his various wonders.
He led the guest back to the headquarters, rebuilt from a school.
On the ground floor, there was an officers’ canteen.
As soon as Lin Yi stepped into the canteen, a rich aroma of food greeted him.
Looking up, he saw fresh bread, ham, and cheese olets on the table.
Many officers were already seated, eagerly awaiting the signal to start eating.
Lin Yi sat down opposite the Red Wine Commander and joked, "You’re showing off."
"Haha, not entirely. It’s just that you’re a special guest, so I decided to be a bit extravagant for this al."
The Red Wine Commander explained with a smile, then gently clapped his hands. The officers beside him stood up and took out a whistle.
Beep~ Beep~ Beep~
The crisp whistle sounded in the canteen.
"Dig in!" the officer shouted.
Instantly, the whole canteen resounded with the enthusiastic sound of chewing.
At this mont, a young female soldier walked lightly forward and politely asked Lin Yi, "Sir, would you like coffee or tea?"
"Coffee, make it strong, no sugar. Hmm... where did you get the eggs from?"
Lin Yi took a bite of the olet, and his eyes lit up instantly; the taste was wonderful.
The Red Wine Commander gracefully set down his knife and fork and took a white towel to gently wipe his mouth.
"We have our own chicken coop."
"You have chickens? Live chickens?"
"Are you interested in chickens?"
"Of course, I think after the al, we could have another trade, haha!"
After saying this, Lin Yi took a sip of hot coffee, the rich aroma spread in his mouth, and he began to enjoy a hearty al.
The bread was very fresh, clearly made by an experienced baker.
The ham had a bit of a wild taste, but it still tasted good. His favorite was the egg.
After a satisfying al, the Red Wine Commander leisurely strolled around the camp with his newfound business partner to aid digestion.
They exchanged a few pleasantries.
Suddenly, the Red Wine Commander stopped in his tracks, turned around, and stared directly at Lin Yi.
His expression beca serious: "We’ve gathered the coins. When can you deliver?"
"Anyti." Lin Yi replied confidently, and as soon as he finished speaking, he waved his hand elegantly, and a sack of potatoes appeared out of thin air in front of them.
"You... your ability is truly extraordinary."
The Red Wine Commander’s eyes sparkled with a glint, uncertain whether it was admiration for Lin Yi’s "summoning ability" or his agricultural ability.
Then he gestured, "Let’s go to the warehouse to complete the transaction."
Lin Yi nodded and continued walking forward with his counterpart.
Along the way, Lin Yi noticed that almost no soldiers or civilians in the town were wearing professional gear.
Curious, he couldn’t help but ask, "Doesn’t your camp have professionals?"
The Red Wine Commander frowned, looking confused.
"You an people with special abilities."
"Ah, we call them system users here."
The commander smiled, his tone a bit complex: "Our soldiers are used to using firearms, and few are willing to fight zombies with just a baseball bat. So, almost all of the system users... professionals are civilians we’ve recruited."
Lin Yi raised an eyebrow; that was dangerous.
However, this was ultimately a matter for their camp, and not sothing for him to worry about. At this mont, he was more interested in animal trading.
"I’d like to buy a hen and a rooster, each for 200 pounds of food. What do you think?"
"I think the price is quite reasonable."
After the deal was agreed upon, the two soon arrived in front of a refrigerated warehouse.
A carriage filled with coins was already parked there, waiting quietly for them.
Of course, besides the carriage, there were the previous nineteen officers and plainclothes politician Gustav.
Most of these people stared at Lin Yi with complex expressions, filled with both suspicion and anticipation.
Now, they had slept, eaten, and been given face; it was indeed ti for sothing real.
Lin Yi looked around and joked, "Looks like you’ve brought a delegation."
"They just don’t trust you," the Red Wine Commander spoke frankly without taking sides, at least for now.
Lin Yi rely chuckled and did not take those doubtful looks to heart.
He walked calmly into the warehouse and waved his hand.
In an instant, a flash of light filled the warehouse, and a large pile of sacks appeared out of nowhere.
They were filled with potatoes, cabbages, carrots, onions, beets, and even garlic!
Plainclothes politician Gustav was dumbfounded, excited, and stamred, "This... is simply unbelievable!"
The Red Wine Commander was elated, smiling widely, extrely satisfied: "Hahaha! Great—wonderful!"
"Now, I should take these away."
As Lin Yi spoke, he teleported the pile of coins on the carriage back to the shelter.
The harvest was quite impressive, a total of 20,000 coins!
At least, for now, everything was going smoothly!
Until that dear politician, the plainclothes Gustav, once again—
Prepared to cause trouble!
