Hanover Camp City.
In front of Lin Yi, there were about a hundred hungry, wretched won.
They were all clamoring loudly in a rush.
When they saw other refugees, so won turned their attention towards them, but a group of hungry won still surrounded Lin Yi.
"You two," Lin Yi pointed at a pair of red-haired twins and said.
They definitely weren’t the prettiest girls here, but they were cute, even though they were so skinny their bones were visible.
"Do you have anywhere to stay?"
"Yes! Thank you!" The twins answered in unison, while other won glared at them fiercely.
The two girls brought Lin Yi to their place, which was only a five-minute walk away.
This was clearly a won’s courtyard or a similar place because there were two ard n guarding the entrance.
The girls’ apartnt was on the third floor.
The room was extrely simple but very clean.
After locking the door, the two girls took off their dresses, standing there stark naked.
Their emaciated bodies took only a few seconds to shed the dresses.
The twins were of middle height, had average figures, but their body type was decent.
"Put your clothes on, I am not here for that."
Lin Yi said, placing a bottle of water, a box of roasted potatoes, and two cans of stew on the table.
The potatoes were still hot.
"Okay." The girls nodded imdiately, then walked in front of the man, kneeling down, and used their malnourished hands to undo his belt.
"I need so information, one of you pretend that we’re doing that."
Lin Yi pointed to the bed and said again.
"I want the other to answer my questions about this city."
At this ti, lanie had already checked this area several tis, even using infrared to scan the house...
But there are always so skills that allow the user to hear people’s whispers, even through thick walls.
"Alright." One of the girls nodded, then jumped on the bed.
She started bouncing on the mattress, moaning loudly and passionately, which looked quite amusing.
"You learn pretty fast."
Lin Yi chuckled, liking these two girls.
Smart, calm, efficient.
And most importantly, not dumb!
"First question: Tell about this city. How was it established, who controls it, and everything else you know."
"Okay." The other girl said, then began to briefly introduce the situation in Hanover.
This city once had a large survivor camp, but it fell about six months ago.
The city was attacked by a large group of zombies, but that wasn’t the reason for its fall.
The survivors repelled the zombie horde, but suffered heavy casualties in the process. Half the population turned into zombies, and the army was nearly wiped out.
A large local gang, upon hearing about this battle, decided to check out Hanover.
This gang had thousands of mbers and effortlessly took over the town, killing anyone who refused to submit and robbing the others.
The gang leader is a man nad MacLeod, who wanted to fashion himself into a little lord.
So he decided to establish his own camp on the ruins of the Hanover Camp, with gambling and won, as people often say.
After the zombies were eliminated, the area’s periphery remained more or less safe.
The city’s forr leader received a unique piece of equipnt as a reward for killing the Zombie Overlord: an edible biomass factory.
This factory was the main reason those raiders decided to launch an attack.
In short, after the zombies were eliminated, this camp beca wealthier by looting abandoned cities, factories, military bases, and so on.
Soon after, a large number of survivors began to pour in.
So were driven over by the plunderer gang, so ca on their own, and so were forced to join the city after being robbed.
Hanover had almost no laws, only "might makes right."
But at the sa ti, no one was allowed to abuse their power without the leader or his subordinates’ permission.
Because of this, the camp did not fall into a governnt-less state or civil war, which was nothing short of a miracle.
The camp went through a difficult period, but then most zombies began to disappear, and no one knew why.
Because of this, there was nothing available to produce food, and the city began to experience resource scarcity.
Currently, the people of Hanover rely on fishing, raiding zombie-free settlents, and robbing other survivor camps for survival.
Survivors from these camps are usually enslaved, then sold in the local slave market.
So slaves are used as food, so as bait, and of course, so as "playthings." The red-haired twins belonged to the last category.
Hanover was divided into several areas, each managed by one of MacLeod’s n, and conflicts between them were common.
The girl knew an astonishing amount about MacLeod’s n, including how many people each had, their skills, nas, distinctive features, and so on.
"How do you know so much?" The man asked, looking at the young girl’s face.
"We pay close attention, we listen, and we keep our mouths shut." The girl replied.
Her eyes glanced at the food with the corner of her eye, she was actually on the verge of starvation, but she didn’t want to show it.
"Interesting, if I were you, I’d eat those potatoes right away... These cans of at are your reward. I’ll stay here for a while, so you won’t have any trouble."
"Thank you." The girl said, then devoured the food ravenously.
Her sister also jumped down, running to the table.
"Delicious, sister." The girl grinned, taking a big bite of the still warm roasted potato.
"Truly delicious" the other twin sister ate slowly, savoring the wonderful taste.
The happy pair of girls quietly devoured the roasted potatoes, at, and spinach.
Immanuel had been actively purchasing seeds, wild vegetables, and even saplings.
Aricans were not willing to share their seeds, so the prices were exorbitantly high.
But Lille, Cologne, and Düsseldorf, on the other hand, are happy to share. Now the Shelter has a rather rich variety of green vegetables and several kinds of tomatoes.
"Don’t forget to drink that bottle of water. It’s quite special, so I suggest you drink it up right away."
"Okay." One of the red-haired girls said, then turned around and took a big gulp from the bottle.
"Drink, sister."
"Alright." The other twin sister also took a big gulp.
The girls quickly finished the water in the container, but they were still hungry...
"Want to eat so more?" Lin Yi smiled.
The girls imdiately stood up straight.
"Hahaha! Where’s the market that sells System Equipnt around here? I’m looking for Skill Books."
"There is one, a store in the Hanover Market," the girl on the left said.
"Head northeast from here to Hanslireye Square, it takes about fifteen minutes," the other girl on the right added.
"But there are so many things there, and they’re all expensive."
"Is there anywhere else?"
"Yes, Valenwald Park, there’s a large System Equipnt market there, they have everything."
"But rare items are few; most are inside the church."
"Hmm... I’ll check out both places, thank you for the info."
Lin Yi replied, then walked over to his backpack, taking out another container and so air freshener.
"Eat up."
He smiled as he handed the container to them.
The girls simultaneously reached out to take the container, walked to the table, and carefully put it down.
But when they opened the container...
They turned to Lin Yi with tears in their eyes, with a question unsaid but clear on their faces.
"Can we really eat this?"
"Hahaha! It’s all for you. Eat slowly," the man said, looking at the sisters.
He really liked them.
They had very interesting personalities.
He didn’t need to speak, and they could understand, their movents almost in perfect sync.
The girls smiled, turned around, took a bite, and then were stunned for a mont.
"This is mutant rabbit at," Lin Yi said.
Satisfied, the girls devoured the juicy rabbit at baked in foil, tears of joy silently falling as they ate.
As they ate, Lin Yi also had so.
He didn’t plan to wait for lunch, and he had an interesting plan...
lanie reported the observations from the Celestial Eye. There were so issues, but nothing unusual.
After the sisters ate the potatoes to ease their hunger, they began slowly savoring the at as much as possible.
"Would you like to eat like this every day?"
Lin Yi suddenly asked. He really liked these red-haired twins.
He could use helpers like them, and they were good at gathering information.
"Yes." The girls stood side by side, awaiting further instructions.
"Then take this." Lin Yi took out a Shelter cara from his pocket.
It was a small badge that could be attached to clothes, furniture, walls, etc.
"I have a few tasks for you two. I’ll co back to find you after I take care of my business. If I take you with now, it will interfere with... this thing."
"Alright," the sisters replied. One of them took the badge.
"Put it sowhere no one can see. I’ll use it to find you later."
The girls nodded and pinned the badge inside their dress. When they realized the man had no more to say, they continued eating.
After finishing, they returned the container and empty bottle to the mysterious man before them.
"Here, use this so no one can sll the food,"
Lin Yi handed the air freshener to the girls.
They nodded.
One quickly opened the window while the other sprayed the air freshener throughout the apartnt, on their clothes and furniture.
"Now I have a task for you.
First, I need you to tell your boss or anyone higher up that you saw a big bag of Coins and a stash of canned food in my bag."
The girls exchanged glances, sowhat confused, then looked back at the man and nodded.
"Good girls, then I want you to tell them where I’m going and why."
"Okay, how long after you leave should we say it?"
The girls were a little worried about this strange man, but they were willing to trust him...
"Uh... however long you think is appropriate. Just make sure nobody suspects you. Don’t worry, I’m much more formidable than I look."
The girls smiled slightly at that.
They had no doubt about it.
After Lin Yi left,
the sisters pretended to be completely exhausted, with one lying on the bed covered in a blanket, while the other fell to the ground with a thud.
A man walked into the room, frowning.
The place was filled with the scent of floral air freshener.
"Not bad, good job."
The man said softly, taking away the canned food and replacing it with two edible biomass bricks.
He was lucky the two girls seed to have fainted, otherwise, by regulation, they could have eaten half the food...
