Chapter 228: Clear Distinctions
After Zhang Xiao Qiang’s third warning, a man quietly stepped forward and placed his Type 56 Assault Rifle down on the ground before him, loosened his helt and leather belt and placed them beside the gun, then turned and left the group.
The man’s action was like a signal as more people followed up and stripped themselves of their equipnt and placed them on the ground. The clanking of the weapons reverberated around, the old mbers continued looking ahead calmly, but with an additional sneering curve of their lips.
So of the people had already made their decisions, but upon seeing the people leave, they started hesitating once again. The seemingly excited new mbers all cursed at the people who shrink back at the risks involved as a combat team mber under their breath, they looked down on the trash who gave up halfway.
Zhang Xiao Qiang looked at the cowards leaving his own team but did not make a sound. He calculated the remaining number of recruits while He Wen Bin watched the entire farce and sneered coldly.
No one knew but He Wen Bin did. Zhang Xiao Qiang had established that the fighting force was the most important, in the dangerous and troubled world, developnt and growth were bullshit. Without a powerful force, without cold-blooded warriors born from battles, any promise on developnt was just imaginary future plans which would pop like a bubble the mont danger arises.
The combat team’s welfare and treatnt were preceded only by the core managent group, but who are they? They are the ones whom Zhang Xiao Qiang have rescued from the mouths of zombies, they have utmost loyalty towards Zhang Xiao Qiang and at the mont, there were only three. He Wen Bin himself was one, Old Frank was another and Three was the third. Lu Ren Yi was not considered one, so one can only imagine how good the benefits were for the combat team mbers.
Zhang Xiao Qiang’s words and promise are true since only a seventh of the entire base people were under the combat team and that the number of females had swelled to 300. Zhang Xiao Qiang brought back close to a 100 after killing Liu Tou. There were too many won that the combat team mbers could definitely not amount to.
But if they wanted to marry a wife, they had to work their asses off. Only at that ti, would the base arrange for a few won to decide. That’s right, it was the won choosing and not the combat team mbers who have the luxury to pick and choose.
In here, the won were protected, they were considered an important resource, the indispensable role for the continuity of human beings. Why did Zhang Xiao Qiang bring Su Qian back? At that ti, Su Qian was already a trash that can only eat and unable to do anything, wasn’t it because she’s a woman and that she can reproduce?
As for the rations and supplies to be given out, there will definitely be as such. The daily allocated to combat team mbers will always have things unwanted by others, isn’t there?
As for what He Wen Bin found the funniest was that joining the combat team would provide the opportunity that everyone will only get once. In the future, even if they pick up a weapon to train, they can only be considered as assisting to defend.
What did that an? They were not recruited, which ant that if the base was under attack, they still had to wield weapons and defend the base. After the battle, they would lay down their arms and return ho. How it was before the attack would be the sa after the attack. Even if they die in battle, they will never have the qualifications of being buried in the cetery on the hill.
All of these people who put down their equipnt felt relief flood over them, but they did not know that they had given up the only opportunity they will ever have in their entire lives to change their identities.
Out of the 100 people, only 88 were left, out of which were 5 won. Zhang Xiao Qiang looked at these 88 and shouted, “Everyone, raise your guns....”
The gunfires continued firing off in the valley, the morial service held by Zhang Xiao Qiang and the new recruits were finished....
One month passed.....
Zhang Xiao Qiang led the 80 odd adequately trained combat team in the half month and drove the off-road vehicles installed with Type 54 12.7mm AA Guns, towing a Type 92 Battalion Gun. They spent half a day clearing the few thousands of zombies in a factory.
Zhang Xiao Qiang was satisfied with the performance of the new mbers throughout the process. At that ti, there was only one S2 inside the horde. The S2 rushed through the firepower of the battalion gun and machine gun team, jumped over a few trenches and in the blink of the eye was about to jump to the sandbag structure. Despite that, all the new mbers at the sandbags stayed put and fired at the S2 despite its speed and agility. Even when it got close, no one moved their feet or turned to run.
In the end, the S2 was stopped by a shot fired by Shangguan Qiao Yun in the chest, allowing another bullet to shoot into its eye, followed by the 12.7mm bullets that destroyed the S2.
Aside from having the adrenaline rush, they eliminated the zombies in working routine. This ti, Zhang Xiao Qiang’s team was sufficient in numbers and had powerful firepower. Two Type 54 AA Guns firing 12.7mm heavy bullets easily destroyed the horde. Zhang Xiao Qiang even witnessed a Type S zombie being shot by the large caliber at its belly, leaving behind the two feet while the entire other parts of the body were flung away.
With the ample preparations, they no longer fell into peril like they did in the small town. With the Type 92 Battalion Gun, they were like a tiger that had grown wings, the zombies did not know how to prone down to avoid the bombs, the 70mm warheads exploded inside the horde and sent bodies flying. The scattered bodies and shockwaves caused by the warheads were also enough to blow the surviving zombies to the ground.
After the battle outside the factory, Zhang Xiao Qiang, Yang Ke’er and Guo Fei took the lead with 30 mbers wielding shields and blades behind them, slowly took the periter and moved into the factory. Zhang Xiao Qiang knew that the factory was too large and the scent of blood could reach up to about a kiloter. Although the majority of the zombies were concentrated at the entrance of the factory, there were plenty of scattered zombies.
This ti, Zhang Xiao Qiang’s entire full force mobilization was not for the parts anti-air outfitting, the base was undergoing major reconstruction and they had to hollow out the two hills in the future. At that ti, electrical installations and machinery would not be able to keep up, so the large-scale machinery and equipnt inside the factory were what Zhang Xiao Qiang needed the most.
For that, even Wang Le had participated in the attack, donned in a helt, a bulletproof vest and a Type 92 9mm pistol at his waist, he held his improved sniper crossbow in hand.
This improved sniper crossbow was smaller than the average sniper crossbows, he changed the crescent moon front end to a holder while the flight groove had been modified by him in which no one knew how. Over 10 different sized arrow retention springs caused people to be confused by the look of the crossbow. The bowstring was made out of a BMW brake string and was tangled and complicated, forming a tight tension.
On the trigger of the crossbow was a huge magazine clipped installed onto the body of the crossbow. Whenever Wang pulled on the handle and wound the crossbow, a palm-size crossbow arrow would automatically insert itself into the flight groove. Instantly, he would be able to shoot.
Seeing Zhang Xiao Qiang staring at his own crossbow, Wang Le was pleased, he automatically introduced the characteristics of the crossbow to Zhang Xiao Qiang, “It is partly made out of steel and is heavier than an MP9. Its overall length is 60cm and has a small scale pulley that has 1.5x the pull of an ordinary crossbow. The magazine holds 7 arrows, is semi-automatic and firing speed is much faster than the Type 38 rifle...”
In the end, Zhang Xiao Qiang asked Wang Le to make a better one for him. Although he might not use it, who knows if it could add as insurance?
