Qi Lin didn’t catch Lu Luo’s quiet muttering to himself.
"Xiao Lu, what did you just say?"
"Nothing, nothing. Thank you for the reminder, Dad. I’ll be careful."
Lu Luo’s expression remained unchanged. As a highly experienced undercover agent, when he didn’t want others to see through him, there truly wasn’t anyone who could perceive the emotions and thoughts in Lu Luo’s heart. Even the chief judge of the Inner Ring wouldn’t be able to.
"As long as you understand the importance of the matter, that’s good."
"Yes, if there’s nothing else, then I’ll take my leave first."
Qi Lin frowned slightly but, in the end, didn’t continue trying to persuade Lu Luo. No matter what, his persuasion was tinged with personal emotions, leaning more towards Xinzhu’s side. This choice might not necessarily be the one Lu Luo would make for himself. The final outco still depended on Lu Luo himself.
Having achieved so much at such a young age, Lu Luo’s choices and thods might just be right, for all we know. The experience of the older generation is formidable. Often, human progress cos from not listening to the previous generation! As the chief judge, Qi Lin understood this principle too! Because when he was young, he also didn’t listen to his own father.
"Alright, before you leave, say goodbye to them."
"Of course." Lu Luo got up and walked to the kitchen.
When he arrived in front of Qi Xinzhu and Fang Jing, Xinzhu already knew that Lu Luo was about to leave.
Lu Luo first nodded to Fang Jing.
"Mom, thank you for your hospitality. I might have to go now."
Fang Jing was also soone who understood the gravity of situations. Qi Lin had already broadly explained Lu Luo’s circumstances to her the night before. So as a mother-in-law, Fang Jing didn’t say anything polite to detain him.
She solemnly told Lu Luo, "Xiao Lu, your father-in-law and I still have so connections and influence in the Inner Ring. If you truly need help, just speak up.
"Since you and Xinzhu are together and you call us Mom and Dad, we naturally will do our part to help."
Fang Jing’s promise was very straightforward and sincere, which added warmth to Lu Luo’s heart. Though a great deal of the reason was because of Xinzhu, the fact that the old couple could do this much was already extraordinary.
"Thank you, Mom. If I really need it, I will!"
"Okay, do you and Xinzhu still have so things to discuss? Then you two talk first."
"Alright."
After Fang Jing left, only Lu Luo and Xinzhu remained in the kitchen.
Before Lu Luo could say anything, Xinzhu had already rushed up to him, holding him tight, and then gave him a long kiss.
After a long ti, they finally parted.
"Don’t say anything, I understand everything! We don’t need to make any more promises to each other. Do what you need to do, go for what you want to do. No matter when or under what circumstances, I will stand by your side. Darling! Go for it!"
Did you save the galaxy in your last life? Is that why heaven arranged for you to have such a woman?
Lu Luo hadn’t saved the galaxy in his last life, but he did strike a severe blow against a huge cri syndicate. He hit cri hard! So in this life, it probably fell under the case of good people getting good rewards!
However, Xinzhu’s consideration and warmth still gave Lu Luo infinite solace.
"Got it, darling!"
...
"Hello, I’m Zhang Yifan."
Zhang Yifan stood at the doorway of Luo Xuemin’s office and answered the phone. The person on the other end was Lu Luo, who had just left Qi Xinzhu’s family ho.
"Are Priest Qi’s parents taken care of? Mr. Lu Luo, your actions are indeed swift. Councilman Luo is currently handling affairs; after all, he isn’t as free as we are. So, tell your location, and I will co and pick you up right now. But your eting with Councilman Luo will probably have to be arranged for tonight."
"Alright, I’m currently at East 13th District, number 236! A Transcendent’s store."
On the other end of the phone, Lu Luo was wandering through a Transcendent equipnt shop inside the wall. The shops in the Inner Ring mostly feature high-end living essentials, luxury goods, and so rather peculiar collectibles. Due to the lack of ’wild people,’ or rogue Transcendents, practical equipnt is particularly scarce in Transcendent stores. The Constitution Guard Corps and Council have their own internally stipulated equipnt issues, so they don’t need to shop at these kinds of Transcendent product stores.
Lu Luo, curious about the Inner Ring’s offerings, had searched for quite so ti before finding such a store. This was perhaps one of his few genuine interests.
As soon as he entered, the shop owner greeted Lu Luo warmly.
"Welco, sir. What can I get for you?
"We have the finest weapons and equipnt in the entire Alliance, and we also offer personal customizations and pre-sales.
"This includes imitation Believer of Light suits and Constitution Guard uniforms. We can also customize the Sword of Light—glow-in-the-dark, fluorescent, or rechargeable versions are all available.
"Here are so samples. Please, have a good look before deciding."
"Constitution Guard uniform? Believer of Light suit? Sword of Light?"
Lu Luo’s expression was sowhat strange. Could these types of equipnt actually be made to order so openly? However, when he saw what was known as the Constitution Guard outfit and the Believer of Light suit, he realized these things were purely for show. The armor plates were very thin, and the weapons were just ordinary standard swords, even engraved with patterns for aesthetics. Lu Luo knew very well that engraving patterns on a sword blade usually served no purpose. As for the so-called Sword of Light, it was probably more like a uniquely crafted tal glow stick.
Ordinary Transcendents creating weapons wouldn’t do such seemingly foolish things. Apart from looking good, there wasn’t much other use.
"Uh, boss, do you have so more normal weapons?" Lu Luo’s expression was uncomfortable.
"Uh, sir, what exactly do you an by normal weapons?"
The owner’s expression was also odd. Lu Luo’s behavior didn’t quite resemble that of a normal custor. Aren’t normal custors all looking for these things? In the Inner Ring, rather than customizing aesthetic suits, would they be making gear specialized for combat? Please, fighting against Exotic Species is usually the job for dispatched Hunters. Those are the people living life on the edge of a knife. Regardless, Inner Ring folks don’t usually handle matters of combat.
Lu Luo, noticing the owner’s surprised expression, realized that the difference in Transcendent culture between the Inner and Outer Rings might have caused this situation. He directly stated his requirents.
"Boss, I need so high-quality longswords, as well as a high-capacity handgun. No need for looks; just sharpness, durability, and good quality will do."
Lu Luo’s requirents were all for convenience. While the Fenrir Type VI was very powerful, the weapon was simply too large. Even though Fenrir could be dismantled, the main weapon still needed to be taken out. If only using a single blade, losing parts during a fight would be troubleso and might even require asking Noah for help in recasting. Besides Fenrir, he didn’t possess another reasonable weapon for use, so Lu Luo thought of buying one.
Weapons from the Inner Ring, in terms of quality and craftsmanship, should far surpass those from the Outer Ring. This was evident from Qi Xinzhu’s original Alloy Sword. The Qi family wasn’t particularly wealthy. The Church had equipped her with that sword, and its quality was very good. Lu Luo wanted a similar weapon. It was a good opportunity to stock up on several swords while he was in the Inner Ring. He could discard them if they broke, as he wasn’t short on money.
As for a high-capacity handgun, Lu Luo wanted it purely for the convenience of making the finishing blow. Especially for small damage finishers at dium range, he couldn’t possibly rely solely on Sword Qi and the like, could he? In many cases, things like handguns had great range and power. Plus, attaching Dark Energy, or even lightning and Netherfla, to bullets turns them into very practical weapons.
"High-quality longswords or broadswords? Large-caliber revolvers? Sir, what exactly are you trying to do?"
The store owner looked at Lu Luo with suspicion. It wasn’t normal to buy such things in the Inner Ring.
Could it be due to the recent price hike that this man wanted to turn into a robber?
"Don’t be nervous, boss! This friend just wants to buy so high-quality Inner Ring weapons, that’s all. He isn’t from the Inner Ring, so he rarely has the chance to co across Inner Ring craftsmanship. You don’t have to worry too much, boss. I think he ans no harm."
Actually, Lu Luo had noticed his presence even before the man had opened his mouth.
Though his tone is calm, the arrogance in his words is unmistakable. Is this guy purposely seeking attention in front of ?
Lu Luo said nothing and just turned his head to look at the man with a calm expression.
Fourth Tier Transcendent...
The prompts below that Lu Luo didn’t even bother to look at closely.
Fourth Tier, and no Holy Radiance? This level of strength is indeed not bad for his age... Compared to Luo Shan and Zhang Yifan, this man’s Dark Energy Level is even one tier lower. With such power, where does he get the courage to act tough in front of ?
Lu Luo had already reached the Fifth Tier by now, and his Fifth Tier was very different from the ordinary one. Although he had just broken through, Lu Luo was already confident he could take on many Fifth-Tier foes at once. Even a Sixth Tier Transcendent wasn’t entirely out of the question... So now, Lu Luo assessing a Fourth Tier Transcendent was completely justified.
Just as he was pondering, he suddenly thought of sothing.
You seem to have forgotten about the information gap!
Ah, that seems to be it. The Inner Ring’s estimate of my strength should still be at Third Tier, right?
The last ti Lu Luo broke through was on the day of the Dusk Ceremony. After the Dusk Ceremony, the information between the Inner and Outer Rings had basically begun to tear apart. In the eyes of the people from the Inner Ring, Lu Luo probably still seed like a fairly strong Third Tier—yeah, a Third Tier weakling. As for breaking through, how could it be possible in just three months? Do they really think Fourth Tier Transcendents are as common as cabbages? And regarding Lu Luo advancing from Third Tier to Fifth Tier in three months? Please, how could that be possible? Even novels wouldn’t dare to write that.
So Yin Qi’s expression was a bit strange. Why didn’t his insinuations provoke any reaction from Lu Luo? What was up with this guy? Could he really not see him, a Fourth-Tier master? Were people from the Fourth Ring always this calm?
Seeing that Lu Luo remained silent, Yin Qi turned his gaze to the store owner.
"Boss, what are you waiting for? Although most of your rchandise here consists of decorative items focused on appearance, as a long-established Inner Ring Transcendent store, surely you have so real treasures hidden away?
"Bring them out for us to see. I believe neither of us is short on money."
The words from Yin Qi finally made the store owner co to his senses. When he knew that Lu Luo was from the Fourth Ring, he had considered whether to call the police. But now it seed that the two custors in front of him knew each other. If they knew each other, that would make things much easier!
"Yes, yes, just a mont, gentlen, I’ll bring them right away."
The owner went back inside, and Yin Qi took the opportunity to look at Lu Luo again.
"Hello, my na is Yin Qi."
Lu Luo’s eyebrows twitched. A fierce aura burst forth, and his domineering fist slamd into Yin Qi’s head like a cannonball, blowing the head of this guy, who had been posturing in front of him, to smithereens!
Of course, actions like that were only to be imagined. He would never actually do it. Although with his current capabilities, achieving this wasn’t exactly a piece of cake, it wouldn’t be too difficult either.
"Hello, Mr. Yin Qi."
Lu Luo nodded at Yin Qi politely, but Yin Qi’s expression was not so good. The murderous intent that Lu Luo inadvertently revealed just now gave him a chilling feeling! Even when facing a Sixth Tier Transcendent instructor from the Inner Ring, Yin Qi had never felt like this.
And I just told him my na, but Lu Luo showed no intention of responding. Now I have to ask again. This person from the Fourth Ring really is arrogant!
Looking at the very polite and calm Lu Luo, Yin Qi struggled to muster a smile.
"Hehe, what should I call you?"
"? My na is Zhang Dechui," Lu Luo said with a serious face.
Yin Qi: ???
If he hadn’t thoroughly investigated Lu Luo’s identity, even going over his information several tis, Yin Qi would have been almost won over by Lu Luo’s bland yet lifelike acting. But now, he could only keep on playing along with Lu Luo.
"Mr. Zhang Dechui, hello. Your na is quite unique, really an interesting na."
Lu Luo nodded as well.
"Yes, ’ask for a hamr, get a hamr,’ indeed very interesting!"
Ask for a hamr, get a hamr? What does that an?
Yin Qi gave up on thinking further and tried to steer Lu Luo into his own line of dialogue.
"Is this Mr. Zhang Dechui’s first visit to the Inner Ring?"
Lu Luo blinked, looking very innocent.
"You have a problem with the way you talk. I’m genuinely from the Inner Ring. Why do you keep associating with the Outer Ring? The Outer Ring is now full of chaos and sin, but I... I am absolutely incompatible with evil!"
Good, well said! Applause!
Yin Qi was speechless. He had never seen soone who played so contrary to convention. According to his original plan, when he ca to see Lu Luo, it was supposed to start with a bit of probing. Then he would attack, suppress, and lure Lu Luo into confrontation, thus infuriating the other party. If Lu Luo could not hold back his anger and made the first move, Yin Qi would have a reasonable excuse to try out Lu Luo’s strength. It was a reasonable plan, but since the other party was not receptive, he had no chance whatsoever. If this went on, he would not be able to complete the task assigned by his elder brother.
"Uh... indeed, the Fourth Ring is quite chaotic. That Gre— oh, wrong! Mr. Zhang Dechui, what are your views on the current state of the Fourth Ring?"
Lu Luo looked at the clock on the wall. There was still so ti before Zhang Yifan would co to pick him up, so he decided he might as well have so fun with this young man.
"I think the Inner Ring should strike the Fourth Ring with a heavy hand and give the Fourth Ring a clear and bright world," Lu Luo once again said with a serious face.
"Do you really think so?"
"Of course, I am a great loyalist of the Inner Ring."
Yin Qi’s expression beca even more bizarre. The Lu Luo before him seed sowhat crazy, but his attitude was nevertheless comndable. At least, that’s what Yin Qi thought. The Fourth Ring should indeed be hit hard.
"It seems Mr. Zhang Dechui’s thoughts align with mine. I also agree with the Inner Ring attacking the Fourth Ring."
Lu Luo muttered, "To be honest, yes... kowtowing to the Church while coming down hard on the Fourth Ring. That’s about all the backbone you Inner Ring folks have..."
"What did Mr. Zhang Dechui say? Your voice was a bit low; I didn’t quite catch it."
"Nothing much. The weather is nice today; the sunshine is quite radiant."
Yin Qi glanced at the overcast sky. Although the Inner Ring’s environntal optimization was decent, the sky was clearly not sothing it could control. So the sky was still covered with dark clouds! This "radiant sunshine" that Lu Luo talked about was rather problematic.
"Mr. Zhang Dechui really knows how to joke..."
"This is no joke."
"Not a joke?" Yin Qi was sowhat perplexed.
"Heh, people should relax a bit. Why always be bound by things you don’t like doing? Wouldn’t it be better to go through life laughing and having fun?"
