Lu Luo wrote Qin Wanyu's na on the wall with his finger, emphasizing the characters for "Wanyu," and then stared at Ludie with an expression that seed to say, "You're not illiterate, are you?"
"I think you've made him angry—his eyelid is twitching. He probably wants to hamr you."
Ludie looked at Lu Luo with a sowhat unfriendly gaze. The rules inside and outside the Wall were different. If he wasn't afraid of complaints, he would have started hitting people already.
"Qin Wanyu? That na is quite unique. Not many people in this world know what fish are, and even fewer would have such a na," Ludie muttered to himself.
"Do you have any other clues? You're very clever, I can see that. There's no one else here, so you'd better think carefully about how you answer my questions."
"No, at least not now." Lu Luo pointed upstairs and responded very quickly. Ludie opened his mouth but ultimately didn't press him for more.
He glanced upstairs too. Did Lu Luo an it wasn't convenient to speak with those people around, or was one of them a problem?
"Understood. Since I've found you all, my mission is also considered complete. Let's go."
Ludie pulled Lu Luo up, intending to head upstairs. He was apparently not planning to deal with the other Exotic Species in the exhibition hall.
"Captain Ludie, aren't there other Exotic Species here? Don't you need to deal with them?"
Lu Luo had initially planned to follow this powerful Hunter and pick up whatever remained after him. There would be gains, and his security would be assured.
If Ludie didn't want to give the bodies to him, he would use the evidence from this incident as a bargaining chip.
But now it seed Ludie had no intention of continuing to deal with the Exotic Species. He shrugged and pointed downstairs again.
"Our Team 13 only has one sane person left—. How could I possibly do dirty and tiring work like cleaning up Exotic Species? Look, Team 33 has arrived below. They have many people and are powerful; it's better to leave this kind of sweeping work to them.
The people in Team 33 all have so issues. They're stubborn and not very tactful, which makes them unfit for communicating with witnesses and informants."
Lu Luo didn't quite understand the implications of Ludie's words. The role of a Hunter should be similar to that of police officers from his previous life. But listening to Ludie's tone, it seed sowhat different. How could soone with ntal issues possibly be a Hunter?
Before he had ti to ponder, Luo Sen, the leader of Hunter Team 33, burst upstairs with a large group of Hunters. They moved swiftly, and their presence was powerfully felt.
As they passed Lu Luo and Ludie, Luo Sen stopped. The mont he did, Ludie imdiately started yelling.
"You're not thinking of taking over the task of rescuing survivors, are you? There's an order to these things, Luo Sen! Can't you have a bit of decency?"
"I haven't done anything. What are you yelling about?"
"This man has an astonishing killing intent, akin to a human Exotic Species. But what does this an? Is he bullying the honest? Is the host easily scared? Lu Xiaoluo, when you beco a big shot in the future, you must throw a cup in his face and make him pay!"
Luo Sen smiled, his face showing marked coldness and arrogance. He looked at Lu Luo and said,
"These people all have to be taken to the bureau for processing. Don't forget that."
After Luo Sen left, Lu Luo's back was already covered in sweat as he leaned against the wall. The pressure Luo Sen exerted on Lu Luo was even more intense than that from Qin Wanyu, the Sleeping Witch, at the beginning.
Lu Luo was dissatisfied with his own reaction. He disliked the feeling of being intimidated by soone's presence. What a disgrace! To be scared by another human like this, he thought.
At this point, Lu Luo roughly understood why Ludie had said the people from Team 33 had "problems in their brains."
"Problems in the brain" didn't refer to low intelligence, but rather that their behavior and thods were completely different from normal people.
All mbers of Team 33 were Transcendents, but none of them had any intention of hiding their auras. The whole team had one style: unrestrained and unapologetic.
"Yeah, scared? My ass! You've got assistance from a powerful Grade S Sequence Observer. Surpassing him is just a matter of ti. When you rise, grab an AK yourself, hand a rifle, and we'll sit on his doorstep and ask him if he's scared!"
Stop ssing around! Threatening personnel of the Wasteland Security Bureau is a Class Two capital cri in the Alliance. Are you trying to get killed?
"Appearances can be deceiving. That guy just now looked arrogant, but he's actually weaker than this scruffy man before you. This scruffy man is terrifying, like an abyss."
Hearing that Ludie was stronger than Luo Sen, Lu Luo finally couldn't help but exclaim, "Damn it!"
"Be civilized. Only those who haven't studied history keep saying 'damn it' all the ti."
Lu Luo coughed twice to suppress his surprise. Could it be that sloppy Ludie is actually stronger than the formidable Luo Sen? It doesn't seem likely; he looks so unimpressive. What has he been through exactly?
"Ahem, is this how Hunters usually operate? Ordinary people must be overwheld by their oppressive presence, right?"
Ludie lit a cigarette for himself and then naturally offered one to Lu Luo, but Lu Luo declined.
"Thanks, I don't smoke."
"Yeah, so of them are. They've all turned out this way because of that damn Wall. At least you've t , a normal person. You're quite lucky.
Enough talk. Get your companions and follow . Let them make a statent at the Security Bureau, then go ho, get a good night's sleep, and forget about today."
"You've taken care of them, but what about ?" Lu Luo hinted with his eyes.
"Of course, you're coming with . Our conversation isn't over yet!" Ludie responded with a knowing look.
"Wow, a secret discussion between n..."
Get lost! Lu Luo thought angrily.
They went upstairs, and Lu Luo briefly explained the current situation to Gu Fangyi and the others. Learning that Wasteland Hunters had taken over, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
Gu Fangyi almost stumbled. Although the incident hadn't lasted long, the pressure he had faced was the greatest among them all. The joy of survival was mixed with endless exhaustion.
"Finally, we're safe."
The group went downstairs together and saw the Wasteland sky again, breathing in the fresh air.
The sky was the sa old gray. In Lu Luo's mory, the last ti he had seen the sun was more than a decade ago.
Gu Fangyi and three others got into a Demon Hunter-issued vehicle, which could only seat five. If Lu Luo and Ludie squeezed in too, that would constitute illegal driving.
Unsafe driving brings tears to loved ones—a truth that holds in any world.
"Lu Luo, aren't you coming back with us?" Gu Fangyi still cared about Lu Luo, his reliable comrade.
"I'll go back with Captain Ludie. You guys go ahead."
"Alright." Gu Fangyi didn't say much else, as his injuries needed treatnt.
The car sped off, leaving Ludie and Lu Luo behind.
