But the Blue side has lost such a large base, relying on these people to turn the tide now is impossible... Maybe it’ll create a lot of chaos.
But after all, this isn’t ancient tis. With the advent of firearms, many tyrants and gang leaders could make peace and profit together.
It’s impossible to repeat past situations.
Moreover, these landlords, tyrants, and gang leaders are fundantally unpopular with the people, so they can only cause chaos.
But they co in large numbers.
Reading the line "In just 1950, the Republic’s total number of bandits exceeded one million..." Fang Ming and the Blue Star viewers in the livestream inhaled sharply.
How many units and secret services did the Blue side disband?
Why are there so many people?
Over a million bandits... Holy crap?
It’s important to know that at this ti, the Republic’s military had only 5.5 million troops, and these bandits made up a fifth of that, while the Republic was still involved in the Peninsula War.
Hiss—
Too vicious.
This timing is just—
The Blue Star viewers in the livestream didn’t know what to say.
They all gathered together.
No way around it.
After all, international affairs are not sothing the Republic can control on its own.
The United States attacked at this ti, the Republic had to support the Peninsula, and dostically, they must eliminate bandits; truly, they couldn’t be careless on either front.
Fang Ming continued reading through the materials.
Below were the deeds committed by these bandits.
First were ambushes, assassinating important figures, and their thods were extrely brutal.
It was bewildering.
The Blue Star viewers in the livestream thought of the CG scene where people were hung on flagpoles and shot.
There was also robbery of food, supplies, sabotage of railways, roads, blowing up bridges, attacking county towns, occupying towns, spreading rumors, intimidating the populace... And so on.
A whole series of actions.
Any form of evil was almost never left unattempted.
The pure motive was sabotage.
Continuing through the materials.
It recorded that in the first two months of 1950 alone, over 3,000 grassroots Republic personnel and soldiers in the Southwest Region fell victim to the bandits.
It could be said that there were daily attack plans specifically targeting the Republic’s grassroots personnel.
Under such circumstances.
In March 1950, the Republic decided to prioritize eliminating the bandits, making "eradication of banditry" a major task....
After reading the background materials, many Blue Star viewers already had a rough impression in their hearts.
Fang Ming then spoke up:
"There are still so many unexplored aspects of this storyline."
"With so many Blue Star players, many have tilines extending to the 1970s, yet they haven’t experienced this storyline."
"I wonder what else lies ahead?"
Upon hearing this.
The Blue Star viewers in the livestream couldn’t help but agree.
Indeed.
They had been playing for so long, and it was only when they saw the background materials that they realized how severe the Republic’s bandit problems were during this period. They hadn’t noticed before.
Perhaps it had sothing to do with the single-player nature of the plot as well.
After all, in single-player, one doesn’t perceive the national situation, and if one gets killed by bandits, they only think themselves unlucky, not realizing that the Republic had over a million bandits during this period.
Fang Ming continued reading further.
Not only the background materials, but there were also details about these bandits.
In the Northwest Region, there were about 220,000 bandits.
In the Southwest Region, around 650,000 bandits were split into thousands of different sized forces, making it the most serious area.
In the Central South Region, the bandit count was about 200,000.
However, this area has a complex terrain, especially the Xiangxi region, where banditry dates back to the Ming Dynasty, lasting hundreds of years until the establishnt of the Republic.
The bandits here have never been fully eradicated.
Up until now.
The bandit count here has reached over 100,000.
Even the bandits here.
Were granted official establishnts by the Blue side.
According to the materials, on the eve of the Republic’s founding, warlord Bai Chongxi, under the order of the Blue side’s Chiang Kai-shek, personally flew to Zhijiang to swear brotherhood with bandit leader Yang Yongqing.
They distributed 100,000 silver coins, along with a large batch of weapons, to these bandits.
They were given the designations for 3 temporary armies, 12 temporary divisions.
A complete act of madness.
Next ca a map.
A complete map of the Republic, annotated with many regions in different colors, each representing areas with bandit presence.
Additionally, approximate numbers were labeled on the map.
Clicking on each area.
Would also pop up so of the bandits’ cris.
Kidnappings, arson, brutal killing of civilians, even live burials... Cris so nurous they’re countless.
Fang Ming clicked through and took a look.
Throughout these regions nationwide, the collective cris of all bandits show no duplication in hundreds of instances.
The Blue Star viewers were stunned.
They could hardly fathom any evil these bandits hadn’t committed.
In the last section of the materials, the new DLC gaplay was introduced.
It also involved a full server instance, however, there were only fixed modes this ti.
Divided into two factions.
But only the Liberation Army faction and the Militia faction.
The Liberation Army faction is directly commanded by the Republic’s officials, while the Militia faction has more freedom but faces exponentially increased risks.
Since the Militia faction was dispersed across various villages and towns.
They would face those bandits directly.
Whether it’s the horrifying ways the bandits operated, this ti strangely didn’t form an opposing faction, only having the single faction of the Republic’s Liberation Army and Militia.
But recalling the materials introducing the cris of those bandit leaders.
Publicly beheading civilians and hanging the bodies for display, these were trivial compared to forcing hostages against the Liberation Army and forcing civilians to transport munitions.
So bandits even employed what they called dark arts... Just reading it was chilling.
Obviously not suitable for player participation.
Even though there were only two factions, they were on the sa side, which unified the discussion among Blue Star viewers.
The question was how to quickly resolve the Republic’s bandit crises.
Over a million people.
And they’re scattered throughout the country.
The Xiangxi region’s bandit problem dates back to the Ming Dynasty, spanning hundreds of years to now.
How do you eradicate such a bandit problem?
Though hundreds of years seems like a lot, banditry has existed since ancient tis, rampant on Huaxia Land, more so in tumultuous tis.
One could say that since the history of Huaxia began, the bandit problem has never ceased.
Now it has reached the Republic here.
Blue Star Players are also curious how the Republic would tackle the bandit problem.
The DLC’s tiline for the Republic’s bandit elimination starts in March 1950 while the Republic’s participation in the Peninsula War starts in October 1950.
In half a year’s ti, it certainly can’t wipe out all the bandits.
Yet there remains enormous external pressure, with the entire world focused on the Peninsula War.
It’s uncertain whether the bandits will stir up trouble during this period.
Many Blue Star players discussed.
After all, over a million bandits are not a small number, existing all across the country, and having persisted for thousands of years, especially with over a million now.
Is a complete eradication even possible....
These are still unknowns.
Given the historical series of ’Huaxia,’ no dynasty has ever fully eradicated bandits.
The most notorious banditry lies in the ’Ming Dynasty’ storyline.
So Blue Star players choose to play as bandits, even heading to ’Liangshan,’ yet few et a good end.
The Polestar official forum is alive with speculation about the Republic’s strategies against banditry.
....
anwhile.
In the Polestar Company’s president’s office.
Zhao Ming scrolled through the posts on the gaming forum, with plenty of posts mostly speculating the storyline, devoid of any negative voices.
However, there are so urging for faster advancent in the ’Huaxia’ series, ’World War II’ series, and suggesting ti skips in-ga.
After browsing posts for a while, seeing the buzz was satisfactory, Zhao Ming nodded.
Players are still interested in the new storyline, which ans... The Republic had done plenty since its founding, and a Republic-exclusive DLC version could very well be in the works.
