When I got outside of the building I imdiately noticed John standing next to a bag and a large backpack put on the ground. He was clearly waiting for and picked up his things when he noticed .
- G-god afternoon - he said awkwardly.
The ti here was closer to the night than it was back in Petrograd, so at least he picked the correct one. Yeah, I'm maybe a bit salty but you have to understand how angry I was, and the poor guy was gonna beco the catalyst of that anger.
- Shut up - I growled at him after a mont, when I got closer.
He already knew that I wasn't happy, and I could feel that he didn't really know how to react. I helped him a bit, by grabbing his shoulder, then I shadow walked both of us to Loistavadvaar,
- Wha...Where are we? - he asked,d looking around at the jade city, basking in the cold silver light coming from the ceiling of the cave it was all located in.
- Sit the fuck down! - I cut him off, then pushed him so he stumbled backward dropping the bag in his hand.
At the sa mont, I created a throne of void essence behind him, and he fell into it. The backpack amortized the impact a little bit for him.
- I clearly am too good-hearted for my own good, you are a little piece of shit. We did already establish it, so don't even try to argue. Your father is also a pain in my ass who put in this fucking situation, so here is what we will do. I'm gonna take you with , but if anybody asks you how did you get there, you are gonna bla William for this. If you by any chance ntion , I swear I'm gonna break every bone in your body. Do you understand? - I asked.
There was a lot of intent in my voice as I was saying all that, and he clearly understood. I noticed the fear in his eyes like he was expecting to snap at any mont. It kinda felt nice...
He nodded, to confirm that he understood.
- Good. Moreover, you have to behave there. If I notice sothing I don't like about you. A tiniest, tiny thing, you are gonna be in big trouble. Do you understand? - I asked again.
He answered in the sa manner, by nodding rapidly.
- Do you fucking understand?! I can't hear you! - I repeated myself yet again.
- Y-yes! - he confird verbally.
- Good. Now pick your ass up, 'cause we are going places - I said.
He did just that.
- I hope you didn't pack that stupid armor and that fucking toy on a stick to those bags - I added, getting closer to put my hand on his shoulder.
On my way, I did pick up the bag he dropped.
- N-no. I-i didn't - he assured .
Then I shadow walked us both to the place I left off to answer Will's call. Behind the walls of Petrograd. I dropped the bag and then began walking to the gate, leaving the boy in awe. He was stunned by the sudden change of places, which happened yet again, but also by the beauty of the alien fauna, which got assembled into the goblin woods, which were turning into rat territory because we happened to be between those two.
I made a bit of distance between our location and the closest gate before I heard the sound made by the equipnt inside his bags clanging into itself. A clear indication that he was running after to catch up.
He eventually did, but he didn't have the courage to speak to , instead, he just followed a single step behind.
Like that, we entered the city, and a few minutes later passed by the line of buildings, entering the city center. There were a few people there, hanging around. My family among few others, but even more gathered since the new person was spotted, and our community was already so tight, that everybody knew everybody.
I noticed Tihanas, yes asking a silent question: "Why did you bring him here". Before she was able to actually say it out loud I gave her a glare to keep her mouth shut. I stopped, making John do the sa, then reached back and grabbed him by the shoulder. I ended up shoving him forward, and he stumbled, almost falling on his face.
- Tell them - I said to him. - Tell them how did you get here, because they clearly want to know.
- Y-yes... H-hi - he dropped the bag and raised his hand to greet the people who were all watching his every move. - I'm John. I... I was sent here by mister William. I hope we can all work together.
A murmur spread among those who stepped out. I bought on few things they were saying. "Why was he sent here?" and "Who is he?" were among those questions. The situation beca quite dangerous because so of those questions were better left unanswered. Fortunately, Tihana got a hold of the situation by just grabbing John's hand and pulling him away.
At the sa mont, I noticed Celestine's eyes focused on . She obviously wanted to speak, so I used the opportunity created by my daughter, since all the eyes were focused on her and the new guy so I had plenty of room to go and sneak away with my wife.
After explaining her everything it was obvious that she wasn't happy about the situation. Maybe a little less than , because I was simply furious, but still. It was hard to foresee what the complication of this action would be, but what won't you do for friends?
Despite my reaction, I knew that I owed Will for everything he has done for . For making my whims happen despite being busy, handling the whole city. He did a lot for , and Celestine, in the past weeks, while I only caused him trouble.
So yeah... That's how John joined us.
