The next three days were incredibly boring. There was very little to do on the alien ship since the Sabhetani culture and technology were completely foreign to us. I spent a lot of ti having casual conversations with Sor about many stupid things, listening to music, and strolling around the ship alone, hoping to find soone I knew to talk to.
A few tis I even succeded, but the conversations themself were a bit strange, lancholic. For so reason people felt like we were on the end of our journey, looking for happy ever after to co by, pay us a little visit.
For , it was just a short pitstop in a race sowhere. I still didn't know what the hell was going on with The Great One, who mysteriously disappeared. Not to ntion taking care of Tihana, whom I was neglecting a lot lately, and my mom who probably was worried to death for .
Those thoughts pushed to make up my mind on focusing on family a bit more. They needed , and I needed them. My ntal state was terrible, and the stupid decisions I made lately were the proof.
I allowed my emotions to take control over . I was not thinking straight, which needed to be fixed.
On the last day, just after we were announced that our visit was approved by the slaves taking care of us, I found Will, strolling on the corridor like .
- Looking for sobody? - I asked him.
- I could ask you the sa question.
- I guess we were looking for the sa thing then.
- I'm so bored I'm going crazy - confessed Will. - I just want to get this over with and return it. I'm gonna take dusting on a vacation. Maybe so hiking in the mountains? What do you think?
- I think it's a good idea. He loves you, but you still need to spend more ti together. You need to teach him how to be a man, how to take responsibility, and all that stuff.
- Yeah - Will's face changed, he got a bit sad. - I'm not sure if I'm the best man for this job.
I sighed and shook my head, then just sat down under the wall, and invited him to join .
- You have changed. You are no longer a junky, wannabe drug dealer who only escapes from trouble. You changed, so focus on that part. Teach him how you've changed. And if you are still afraid then maybe... Maybe take Josh with you? You are the two father figures he has in his life. I'm sure if the two of you can work together, he will listen.
- Wow... - said Will, as he genuinely changed from sad to surprised. - Are you sure you are Peter? Didn't they switch you sowhere here with a lookalike alien? Are you really the sa guy who couldn't shake Josh's hand last ti?
- Shut up - I couldn't help but smile at my childish behavior. - I was angry back then. He stole sothing from my best friend.
- Yeah, he did - he agreed. - But I can understand Elaine's decision sowhat. Her hate towards . And the distrust... But hey, things are better now. We can agree sowhat on things. And I'm a proper father.
- Yeah. Look how far we have gone. Rember the first day in Arc? Or our first eting?
- I do, I do. We t when I was fixing my equipnt. Was it a shield? I couldn't use one of my arms, and you helped .
I smiled as the mories flashed through my mind.
- And then I thought you are just an annoying swindler who is trying to get all friendly to then use people around you.
- Realy?! - he looked at with an open mouth expressing his surprise and shock. - That hurt, man. That hurt...
- Realy.
- Well... Noe when I think about this, the way I looked could misguide people how genuine and nice a person I was. The saint, hidden in the skin of a junky.
I snorted.
- Saint my ass. The only thing that changed it's that stupid Hawaiian shirt.
- How dare you to mock my favorite shirt!
I laughed, and he followed . For a mont the old tis were back when it was the two of us against the world. I felt better, calr.
- So tomorrow we are seeing the queen... - Will broke the silence between us.
- High Queen Ixa. Let's bow and wiggle on the ground before her so she will live us alone, and we can forget about her.
- Wow. You don't sound like Peter at all. Wiggle on the ground?
- Shut up. I'm just tired.
- Yeah, too... At least you have a pretty girlfriend to return to when it all is gone...
- Well... I don't. She left just a few days ago, so we are on the sa boat.
That asshole smiled, which kinda pissed off.
- Then how about you co hiking with us too? - he proposed.
This took by surprise.
- You could bring Tihana - he added.
- You know... That might not be so bad of an idea. I would bring my mom too, but I doubt she will go for it because of her health. Walking for hours might be too much.
- We could carry her. We both have 'Telekinesis'.
- Ok, ok. I hear you. This does sound like a plan - I agreed, as a wider and wider smile crawled on my face.
This idea really sounded great after all the shit that was going on recently.
We kept chatting throughout the rest of the day, discussing the location and other not-important stuff. What was significant was the fact that we had each other to support ourselves in the pursuit of forgetting all the bad stuff in our lives, and focusing on the bright side and the people we loved.
We both needed it.. The support we couldn't look for anywhere else, since we both were reduced to the two of us from the past when we were struggling to survive.
