The next couple of days was strange. I was visiting the construction site, where the heavy machinery got deployed to start digging to build foundations for the house. Tried to spend so ti with Tihana, and even managed to visit my mom in Poland for a short conversation.
I just wanted to check up with her, nothing more.
I even found a mont to hand with Will and Dustin, but I didn't see Sudarshana at all. Few tis, as I was passing by the research facility, on my way to the gate hall, I wanted to step in, say hi, and see what happens, but I didn't.
Then, out of the blue, I received a ssage from Hatta, to co and see him in his office. He didn't share the details, just said it was important. Knowing him, it really was, because other way he wouldn't ask to co.
so I popped in the city center, empty in the middle of a day, and walked straight to Wuxia's headquarters. Passing by guards without a word I made it all the way to the basent, where the leader's office was.
To my surprise inside I found just two people. Hatta, and agent Bharat Kumar, from Intelligence Bureau.
- Hi - I said to them.
- Hello - said the agent.
Hetta didn't even bother.
- There are others coming too - he inford instead. - There has been so... developnt in the outside world. Earth.
- Sothing serious?
- Potentially. Let's wait for the rest because I believe we all should discuss this together. I already send ssengers. Unfortunately, Boris and Nobuo are outside, so they won't be joining us.
- Ok - I replied, and just went to the side, to sit on the couch.
Amit showed up shortly after, and joined , while Hatta and Bharat kept whispering among themselves.
- How are you doing, Peter? - he asked , while sitting down.
- Good. How are you?
- Bussy. I'm hunting a lot those days. Wuxia set up a camp on bears' territory, and we are going strong there.
- Good for you.
- You know what this is about? - He moved his head, slightly, pointing at the chatting duo.
- No, they didn't tell .
- Sorry for being so late - said Blue, as he burst into the room. - Oh, so I wasn't that lat after all. Hello everybody.
I didn't answer to that, but others greeted him, and he also sat on the couch, with and Amit. Aisha showed up shortly after, together with Will.
Everybody gathered around the table.
- There has been recent developnt on Earth. The territory of Russia, to be exact. According to the CIA another gate, leading to a city similar to this one opened there - inford Bharat Kumar.
My eyebrows rose imdiately. People started looking at each other.
- The Russian governnt tried to seize it by force,e but they failed - he continued. - We don't know the details, but this knowledge is kept away from the public for now. It won't stay that for long though. Right now both India and Arica are in talks to strengthen our operations here in Ark, but we first need to know how you see this.
- I'm against - said Blue. - Just because so other country has access to the gate, doesn't an we will allow you to do here as you please.
- He is right - said Amit.
- You can forget about more military personnel here - said Aisha.
- What about non-military? There were already several talks among the nation to create an international healthcare project to allow people around the world to gain healing skills. We could produce a few hight skilled healers each year.
- We? - asked Will.
- By 'we' I ant everybody involved.
- How about you co back with real propositions, instead of what you are doing right now? - said Blue. - Right now it seems to like you are having a problem, and are trying to get us involved, while it's not our problem at all. Give us sothing to work with, then we can co back to the table.
The agent looked at everybody, and since nobody was showing even the slightest indication of disagreeing with Blue, he just nodded and left.
There was a silence among us for a couple of very long seconds, as we waited for him to get further away.
- Ok, now talk, Peter - said Blue, looking at .
- Talk what? I didn't know about this.
- Didn't you visit another city like this one, thanks to The Great One? - asked Amit.
- I did, but I doubt it's the sa one. They were in deep shit when I got there, and there is no way they would be able to dig themselves up and open a gate to earth so soon. It has to be a different one.
- Then maybe you should ask the guy, to enlighten you a bit on the matter? - proposed Blue.
- I'll try, but he might not respond.
- It was kinda obvious that there are several other cities like this one with humans from Earth there - said Will. - There is no need to jump on Peter because so started to show up. Besides, it's not our problem.
- But it might beco our problem - said Aisha. - They might seize so of the cities, and start a war with superhumans.
- They failed when they tried - Hatta pointed out. - For now, let's just listen and watch carefully how the events will develop. If sothing goes south, we will... I guess do sothing.
- Very well - said Blue, stood up and left.
- I'm gonna talk with the CIA - said Will.
- I'll go with you - said Aisha.
They were the next ones to go.
- I'm gonna be in touch with IB - said Hatta. - I'll inform you if sothing happens.
- Thanks - said Amit, and also left.
- I guess I have to stay around then - I said.
- Yeah. You should.
I nodded slowly, then picked myself up, and shadow walked back to my house. There were so many thoughts in my head, that it felt like I have a hornets' nest inside my skull.
I knew sothing like that might happen, but I never expected it soo soon.
This period of ti ca to an end with 24 360 200 points remaining on my account, and 21 class points.
