The fighting stopped for a minute, when Sera burst out of the main building, but it soon resud. The war already escalated, everyone was fighting, it was pure chaos.
A man dodged a swing of a sword and delivered a killing blow to soone else, then he got shot in the head.
A woman aiming towards an Evolved took the shot, killing him instantly. Then she fell over dead her body a broken ss.
A man shot out support beam collapsing the roof of a building, crushing multiple people in it. He laughed, but soon stopped and fell over dead with a knife in his back.
A woman stabbed a man in the back, then ran to one of her friends dying and tried to heal him. Suddenly the whole building exploded.
There were similar fights happening all over the place. This was war, there is no glory, honor or anything remotly pleasant about it. War was pain, suffering, loss and chaos.
A man stabbed another with his sword, then cut one into two pieces. Then a halberd ca down on his head splitting his skull. The demonic figure moved on to deliver another dozen, 2 dozen, hundred, 2 hundred killingblows.
At sowhere else a shadow moved between soldiers, it killed anone that was her enemy. Clean stabs, quick, painless.
Close to her fought a man his shield deflected every blow and his spear was death itself as it always found its mark.
In the sky a different battle was being fought. Multiple flying monters or humans with wings were chasing each other. Their corpses fell from the sky one by one until only a huge eagle remained.
This is war. The destruction of humanity, the loss of sanity and the birth of Madness. Because you have to be Mad to fight in it and by the end you co out as a different person than you went in.
At the front lines, where a resemblance of order still stood, two figures were destroying the enemy forces. One was light itself, her whole bearing was pure and clean, unlike the death she dealt. The other was like nature itself guided her sword and just like nature, her movents ended with death as well.
The angel wore a bright pristine white armor, with golden lines decorating it. Her sword was the sa. Her wings heavenly bright, but there was sothing wrong with one of them. It was folded in weirdly, like it was holding sothing.
The other wasn't special in case of armor and sword. But her movent is what one had to look out for. Every move calculated and on point. Every swing took another life, every lean evaded another blow and every step left a corpse behind.
They seed unstoppable, like they were the servants of death delivering his judgent to the sinners. But sothing ca their way, a huge man Mad with anger. He ran through his own army, killing everyone that ca too close to him, no regard if they were ally or enemy.
Sera and Bea saw his approach and quickly killed a lot of people in their vicinity, making space for the upcoming fight. The two of them haven't said a word to each other, but they still fought in perfect tandem.
When The Bull arrived, he was surprised to find the two woman waiting for him. But soon a smile spread through his face and without a word he charged.
Sera and Bea went seperate directions and both delivered two seperate cuts on him. Without regard for the wounds Bull attacked Sera. She was the slower one since one wing was folded around sothing.
She managed to dodge but the Bull gave her no quarter. Luckily this ti she wasn't alone against him. Vines grew out from below him imobilising him for a second.
Bea attacked him with her sword covered in energy, and she managed to deliver a stab into his chest. Sadly it didn't reach any vital organs, but judging by his scream it hurt like hell.
Bull's eyes were bloodred from anger, but before he could free himself Sera stabbed him in the exact sa spot. It still didn't go far enough, but they were getting closer.
He broke free and managed to hit Sera in the chest. She should have been dead on the spot, but instead her armor dissipated the blow and she only backed away a few steps.
While Bull was stunned from this display, Bea stabbed the sa spot again. He scread when the blow went through his muscle and into his chest cavity, but still it wasn't strong enough to pierce his heart.
Finally realizing the amount of danger he was in, the Bull ca at them hard. He still didn't care about most blows, only the ones targeting his wounded chest.
Sera evaded his fist, then his kick, but then he grabbed her arm. She wasn't fast enough to stop him. He pulled her closer grabbing her left hand with both of his, then with a Mad smile on his face he broke her arm.
She scread from the pain, even though it wasn't even remotly close to the pain she felt in the Void.
Bull began pulling on her broken hand, trying to tear it off. Sera sohow didn't pass out from the pain, instead while screaming she summoned her weapon in daggerform and stabbed it through Bull's heart.
He instantly released Sera and she slumped to the ground, Bea was there to catch her. With her arm screaming in pain, her whole body went limp including her wings.
Victoria climbed to her legs looking very confused by everything. Then she saw her mother lying on the ground with an arm that was only attached by a piece of skin and muscle.
She was really scared and began crying again. Her mother reached out and grabbed her hand, she then brought it to her lips and kissed it. Sera was smiling, but in her eyes there was only pain.
Finally Sera turned towards Bea, woh was still holding her with teary eyes. She only said two words before losing consciousness.
"Protect her..."
