The oxygen in the air burned around them as their speed kept climbing. All their previous worries went out the window when Kastral dipped to the ground.
In the first few seconds, they beca faster than the speed of sound, but their acceleration didn't stop there. With each passing mont, they got closer to their destination.
At first they couldn't feel much, since without air, there was no air resistance. But with each second, it got worse. After the first ten kiloters, the pressure increased so much that each air molecule hit her like a small needle.
Her body constantly suffered and healed. Stuck in this painful loop, they reached the thirty kiloter mark.
"Are the payloads secured?" asked Kastral, and Sera glanced towards his back.
There were about a dozen giant tal object fixed to Kastral's rump. They were precariously moving as they sped up, but it seed they would stay in place.
Frank cooked these bad boys up for this special occasion. He wasn't exactly sure about their payload, but he made sure not to damage the city's walls.
With them, hopefully, they could cause serious damage to the Transcended in the southern army.
"They are good. Let Vicky know we are ready!" Answered Sera through their bond.
Kastral said nothing else, but after a few seconds, it beca obvious that the ssage reached her daughter. The surrounding gravity increased rapidly, further speeding their fall.
This happened around the ten kiloter mark, and from there they reached the ground in only a few seconds. The air constantly exploded around them, as they entered the last kiloter many tis faster than the speed of sound.
They fell towards the ground like a falling star, a teorite. Not a single Transcended had ti to react as the hippogryph and his rider hit the ground with extre speed.
"Good luck!" said Kastral before impact. "See you soon!" answered Sera.
There was no pain in their death. Upon hitting the ground, the dozen bombs behind them exploded. At that mont, their whole body got vaporized, but the speed of their impact still sent out shockwaves every way.
Combining it with the gigantic explosion of the many warheads, the destruction was more than anyone would've expected.
The best part was its concentrated nature. Even though the explosion was enormous, it didn't spread everywhere, and stayed focused on the six targets.
One of them died imdiately, but the other five survived the initial destruction. They got stunned though, and none of them were prepared for the secondary explosion.

This ti it was much smaller, but also more destructive. For a mont, people thought the sun suddenly reappeared in the middle of the night.
A ball of golden fla absorbed the last remaining five Transcended. They scread as their bodies lted in unbearable cleansing flas.
The fiery hellish storm died down each passing second, and the entire southern army stared in awe as sothing risen out of its depths.
The massive beast's wingbeats bent the fire with each movent. His whole body glowed with flas even hotter than the surrounding fire.
Intricate golden armor encased every part of his body, making the already nacing beast turn into sothing truly terrifying.
He rose towards the sky, carrying a singular rider on his back. The woman needed no introduction. Even the stupidest, least inford person would recognize the woman in her golden armor.
In her hand, a five ter long golden lance rested, and behind her back four massive wings spread out.
The two of them rose out of the flas and looked towards the halted army. They didn't approach them, though, and everyone soon figured out why.
Behind the Deathless phoenix, dozens upon dozens of hippogryphs risen into the sky. They screeched as they sped past their leader and went to engage the southern army.
Most of the regular soldiers didn't wait for their arrival, and they began sprinting in the opposite direction. Others simply put down their weapons and went to their knees, accepting whatever fate awaited them.
Upon Sera's request, everyone who gave up or ran away could stay alive, while the people who put up resistance would et the sa fate as their Transcended leaders.
As the first of the gunshots sounded, and dozens of screams echoed, Sera turned away from the southern battlefield and headed north.
She left the southern army's clean up to Lilith, Adam, and the Hippogryph Legion. They would be more than enough to take care of the resisting few.
The first part of the battle was over, but the second won't be as easy. This surprise attack was a great success, but it wouldn't matter much if the northern army broke through their defenses.
The reason they let the northern army break a section of the Aegis System was exactly because they needed them engaged at the northern wall.
They couldn't risk them providing support for the southern army, and having their army fighting there was a sure way to take their attention away.
The only issue was holding up the other six Transcended long enough for Sera to provide support. This was specifically Bea's, Damien's, Cass's, and weirdly enough, Kim's job.
The four of them were the perfect counter for anything the six Transcended threw their way. Bea's regeneration was too strong for most opponents to diminish, while Kim had one of the strongest ability when fighting against single opponents.
Cass and Damien were self-explanatory. Both were powerful Transcended, and Cass was especially annoying to fight against.
A few others helped them as well, like Lucy and the twins. Both could deliver damage way above their Ranks.
All of them put together could hold the Transcended for a few minutes, at least that's what they hoped for.
Sera and Kastral flew above the city of Ro, like so sort of cot. From the southern side, they reached the northern in under a few seconds. Both of their power was close to a Transcended, so moving fast wasn't an issue.
They flew to the north side, only to find themselves in pure madness. The northern army seed to hold their ground much more firmly, and they already reached the walls.
Dozens of Wallbreakers shot their salvos constantly, making the giant walls of Ro tremble. These tanks were designed to take down city walls, and even the reinforced wall made with monster material couldn't hold against it for too long.
Artilleries also bombarded the walls and the city behind. Sera's own troops delivered their payloads as well, but there was sothing else Sera had noticed.
Their own artilleries shot explosive salvos made by Frank and his team. What Sera noticed, though, was that these artilleries shot into the sky, then the shells just disappeared.
They then reappeared in the most unexpected places around the battlefield, exactly where they were needed. None other than her own daughter caused these inconsistencies.
Vicky allowed the artillery to fire into her portals; afterwards, she distributed them according to orders and necessity. With this technique, she took out large groups of soldiers, both regular and Evolved.
Another person who proved to be especially deadly when dealing with regular troops was linda. She moved through the enemy army like a goddess of disease.
People fell around her dead for no apparent reason. When the Ascended soldiers tried to kill her, the Black Crusaders and Ouroboros Cohort defended her, like they were her personal guard.
At so other part, a small storm raged. It took and tossed people as well as vehicles. Sarah created a cyclone that destroyed everything it ca across.
Will was also close by, making people fall over with bleeding nostrils and eyes. They seed to die from so sort of brain damage.
When an Ascended attacked them, Astrid and Agnes were near to help them out. They had no crowd control abilities, but in a lee, both were outstanding.
There were many more small skirmishes between the Angelic Order and the Federal Alliance. Ascended fought Ascended, and Evolved fought Evolved.
The Angelic Order was much better trained, but the Federal Alliance's army outnumbered them by a large margin. For now the stalemate continued, but with the six Transcended still alive, they had no chance of winning.
In the sky, Leslie led the assault in his demon form. All the different flying transformations fought one another, slaughtering everyone who got in their way.
Bodies rained down on the soldiers below as both sides killed each other rcilessly. Leslie was a true nace.
His wings of flas burned anyone who ca too close, while his dark red halberd killed everyone within reach. His black armor made the most confident Ascended rethink their life decisions.
He killed everyone who ca too close and defended all his comrades to the best of his abilities.
Sera took all this fights in while moving higher into the sky. There, on a glowing, srizing, illusory platform, the actual battle happened.
Kastral didn't even think twice, and he headed straight for the platform, since that's where all the remaining Transcended fought...
