Nine sports students ford a small clique, sitting in the sa section. None of them spoke, and the expression on their faces could only be described as heavy-laden, each looking as if they bore so profound grievance.
Xu Shunkang clasped his hands tightly, elbows resting on the surface of a folding table in front of him. His face was somber, his gaze unfocused. It wasn’t clear what he was doing, but he conveyed an aura of solitary coldness, reminiscent of Bu Jingyun sitting on a rooftop.
Sensing Lin Yi’s approach, Xu Shunkang, who had just sat down not long ago, raised his head slightly. His eyes seed to flash with a trace of regret.
Lin Yi walked up to Xu Shunkang and asked, “Senior, can we talk?”
Lin Yi’s arrival disrupted the stifling atmosphere in this part of the room.
Xu Shunkang glanced at him, then at Li Huiyuan, and nodded.
“Sit down.”
When Xu Shunkang invited Lin Yi to sit, the surrounding sports students showed a flicker of surprise in their eyes but kept quiet.
“What do you want to ask?” Xu Shunkang asked directly.
Lin Yi didn’t mince his words and got straight to the point: “Senior, I’d like to ask about what happened last night.”
As soon as Lin Yi spoke, the expressions of the sports students around them beca tense, and they all instinctively turned to look at Xu Shunkang.

Of course, Lin Yi knew clearly that this curiosity and admiration weren’t directed at him, but at Old Mo.
He fell silent.
Xu Shunkang squinted and asked, “What’s wrong? Is it inconvenient to say?”
Lin Yi shook his head slightly. “Not exactly… But there are so details that, due to special reasons, I cannot disclose. I hope you’ll understand.”
Xu Shunkang chuckled, but his laughter carried a heavy undertone. “Unexpected. In this campus, there are still things I’m not allowed to know. Haha…”
“Uh…” Lin Yi ventured cautiously, “Can I talk about the Night Watchman?”
Xu Shunkang’s otherwise composed expression subtly changed.

“Sure.” Lin Yi had co seeking information, but since Xu Shunkang now needed sothing to temper the mood, providing answers first might make it easier for him to redirect the conversation later.
“Old Mo took to the Art Building.”
“Hmm… Then what?”
“That’s all…”
“If that’s all, I could’ve guessed that myself. Was there nothing else? Why did he go to the Art Building, and why did he specifically bring you?” Xu Shunkang asked, puzzled.
“Old Mo went to rescue an art student nad Mu Daxian. I’m not entirely sure about their relationship, but they seed to be on good terms.” Lin Yi answered selectively. “As for bringing along… it’s because I possess certain exceptional talents that could assist him.”
“Mu Daxian…” Xu Shunkang muttered to himself. “Is it him?”
“Do you know Mu Daxian?” Lin Yi asked back.
“I’ve heard of him,” Xu Shunkang replied. “Rumor has it he’s a highly gifted art student. We’ve had a few occasions when we rushed to reinforce the Art Building, and I saw him fighting alongside the Art Teacher from a distance. His abilities are remarkable… way out of my league.”
Lin Yi’s gaze lowered slightly. Mu Daxian and Head Yuan had once enrolled at the school together, but Xu Shunkang, who had been close to Head Yuan, seed unaware.
“Did Old Mo return to the cafeteria?” Xu Shunkang asked.
Lin Yi instinctively tightened the straps of his backpack. His tone was somber: “No…”
“This…” A trace of foreboding settled on Xu Shunkang’s face. “Don’t tell …”
Lin Yi spoke in a grave voice: “Old Mo… sacrificed himself…”
“What?!”
“This can’t be…!”
Xu Shunkang’s expression changed drastically, and shock was evident on the faces of the surrounding sports students.
“How could Old Mo possibly die?!”

“Maybe… the Convenience Store Owner has co back?” Lin Yi suggested quietly.
