860: Chapter 398 Library Level 1 860: Chapter 398 Library Level 1 “That voice…?!” A glimr of light flickered in Lin Yi’s eyes.

“Is that the dormitory supervisor’s voice?”

He quickly pieced it together.

“That Pseudo-Human made a move?!”

On any other day, he’d definitely hunker down and develop cautiously, maybe even retreat behind a bookshelf.

But now, he was ard with confidence.

His right hand loosely gripped the Secret Mark, maintaining a state where he could summon a weapon at any mont.

Taking careful steps, he moved toward the direction of the sound.

Run?

Not necessary for the ti being.

He could always bolt if things took a turn for the worse.

But before he could even start running, the female dormitory supervisor darted out from behind a bookshelf in a panic, colliding directly with Lin Yi.

The mont she saw Lin Yi, she skidded to a halt, looking as if she’d just encountered sothing truly terrifying.

She froze in place for two seconds, then clenched her teeth and prepared to flee in the opposite direction.

But right at that mont—

“Whoosh——”

A shadow barreled out at breakneck speed, skidding on the ground as it forcefully turned a corner, smoke practically rising from its limbs.

It was unmistakably that male student.

Only now, the Pseudo-Human no longer resembled a person.

It looked more like a hybrid between a zombie and a hound-like Nocturnal species.

Its inaudible “gruh-gruh-gruh” noises made it sound like a humanoid beast.

It galloped across the floor at incredible speed, though its control over its body was sloppy—like an adult clumsily driving a bumper car.

The mont it spotted Lin Yi, it seed drawn to the Blue Aura emanating from him.

Abandoning its chase of the female dormitory supervisor, it bolted straight at Lin Yi.

“Fan…To…”

Its mouth gaped wide, saliva dripping from between its teeth.

Lin Yi squinted, standing his ground without flinching.

Without hesitation, he summoned his baseball bat and drove it straight into the Pseudo-Human’s gaping, fanged maw—a brutal “deep throat swab.”

The Pseudo-Human’s montum was too great; Lin Yi’s bat plunged straight through its throat, impaling it like a skewer.

Lin Yi slamd it viciously into the floor, producing a dull, heavy thud.

“Fan…

to…

gruh-gruh-gruh…

Fan…”

The Pseudo-Human struggled, reaching out with claw-like hands toward Lin Yi.

But Lin Yi stomped on its hands, holding it down.

It continued to fight back.

Its chest burst open, blackened bones twisting and writhing like tendrils, probing outward like the lobes of a Venus flytrap, attempting to ensnare Lin Yi and devour him.

Lin Yi furrowed his brows.

Just as he was about to finish it off with an extra dose of brutality, he noticed the female dormitory supervisor erge once again from behind the bookshelf, wielding an old, decrepit oil lamp.

She hurled it straight at the Pseudo-Human.

“Die die die!!”

The female dormitory supervisor ramd the aged oil lamp into the gaping cavity of the Pseudo-Human’s chest.

Under the blistering heat of the lamp’s glow, the Pseudo-Human’s body began emitting large clouds of green mist, its flesh rapidly petrifying from the inside out.

Soon its limbs ceased their flailing entirely, transforming into a burst-open Dead Body Sculpture, its face frozen in a monstrous, snarling expression.

“Hah…

hah…

hah…” The female dormitory supervisor released her grip, leaning back and collapsing onto the floor.

Her hands braced against the ground as she gasped for breath.

Lin Yi stared in mild astonishnt at the woman who had just rushed back to help.

Her ferocious display monts ago was still vivid in his mory.

“Impressive!” He gave her a thumbs-up and exclaid with a sigh, “A true warrior among won.”

The female dormitory supervisor still regarded him with so wariness.

After all, the mont Lin Yi peeled off his “human skin mask” earlier had been just as shocking to her cognition as the Pseudo-Human’s transformation.

She panted heavily, attempting to get back on her feet.

But after a few tries, she realized she couldn’t stand.

It seed she’d exhausted her strength.

Seeing this, Lin Yi extended a hand to help her up but couldn’t resist making a cheeky jab: “You’re feeling weak too?”

Hit by his verbal “boorang,” the female dormitory supervisor’s face flushed slightly, but she still grabbed Lin Yi’s hand to get up.

She smirked faintly, “You’re the one who’s weak!

You’re weak all over!”

She walked over to the Pseudo-Human’s Dead Body Sculpture, intent on retrieving the decrepit oil lamp.

But after tugging at it a few tis, she found that so of the Pseudo-Human’s petrified flesh had turned to stone, trapping the oil lamp.

After several failed attempts, her pale face grew visibly distressed.

She muttered under her breath, “Damn it…

stuck too deep, seems like I can’t pull it out…”

“Oi~ Having so trouble?” Lin Yi teased, his grin annoyingly smug as he leaned closer.

“Hmph!” The female dormitory supervisor wrinkled her nose.

“It’s only because I was saving you!”

“Let take a look.” Lin Yi moved in, his hand brushing against the stone.

It was indeed quite hard.

“Hard, isn’t it?” the female dormitory supervisor remarked.

“What, you planning to take this piece ho to play with?”

“Get lost, you jerk!” She snapped, incensed.

Lin Yi tried to pry it loose with brute force, but the stone remained immovable, its hardness remarkable.

He then enveloped his hand in the Sky Blue Aura and gave it another tug.

This ti, the stone cracked instantly.

He easily extracted the decrepit oil lamp and handed it to the female dormitory supervisor.

“Uh…

thanks.” She accepted the oil lamp politely, then noticed Lin Yi slyly handing her the bone-like fragnt of stone shaped rather suggestively.

“???” She froze montarily, then realized what it looked like.

Her expression contorted as she roared, “Get lost!

If you want to play with it, do it yourself!”

Lin Yi shrugged and tossed the piece back into the Dead Body Sculpture, indifferent.

“I regret everything!” The female dormitory supervisor glared at Lin Yi in fury.

Lin Yi blinked, puzzled.

“If you’d told earlier, I wouldn’t have thrown it away…”

He started reaching for the piece again.

“I regret putting the damn lamp in there in the first place!” she snapped angrily, then added with a huff, “I should’ve shoved it in your mouth instead!”
