Lin Yi didn’t first observe the ship behind him; instead, he followed the sound that infiltrated the will of the soul, the "creak—creak—," looking at the area below the deck.

His gaze fell on the sea surface closest to him.

This sea surface didn’t seem very fragnted; instead, it was a viscous, oily, shiny black mirror. Despite the sound of seawater, it hardly stirred a ripple.

The ship clearly appeared to be sailing but resembled more of a sluggish glide. The slightly tattered and decayed hull was pressing against this deathly still "water surface," emitting an incredibly teeth-gritting sound, like bones scraping—"creak—creak—."

"Creak—creak—creak—"

"Creak—creak—creak—"

"Creak..."

The more he listened to it, the more monotonous it beca, the more tedious, constantly echoing and amplifying in the deathly still Gray Mist Sea filled with black mist. It felt like a two-stringed violin resting on a person’s spine, pulling the tune of a soul-calming lody again and again.

Beneath the black seawater, Lin Yi discovered nurous nocturnal species resembling tadpoles. Perhaps because the ship’s hull was so imnse, these nocturnal species seed a bit small from Lin Yi’s perspective. But as soon as his perception touched it, he realized these nocturnal species, seemingly small, were actually the size of young children. The dense number of them directly gave a head-numbing sight, causing the soul to shiver.

With the gliding of the hull, the nocturnal species let out so unhuman low humming because of violent compression and distortion. Their way of making sounds had entirely stepped out of the category of "sound," more like a kind of ultra-frequency band, just sensing it made Lin Yi’s bones itch as though they were about to crack open.

It’s tough to imagine what kind of ship could continuously sail amidst such intense contamination and interference.

Even more unimaginable is what kind of crew could continue to steer the ship towards its destination for so long under such lasting contamination.

But Lin Yi actually already guessed sothing. This might be one of the large sea voyages conducted by the "Original Apostles" during the Black Mist Era, and these scenes in front of him were indeed part of certain fragnts of his mory.

He must have personally experienced these sea voyages, and with the progress of Tian Bufan’s plan regarding "him," it was also ti for him to awaken the part of the mory related to large sea voyages.

Gradually, he understood everything and gradually comprehended the trail of the plan’s execution and the developnt of matters.

Thus, taking advantage of this mont, he withdrew his attention from the black sea and these countless tadpole-like nocturnal species, directing it onto the ship’s main body.

This was a large ship full of dark fantasy style, almost entirely consistent with Lin Yi’s mory of those pirate ships that sailed through the Caribbean Sea.

Its hull sunk into the black mist, leaving only a magnificent silhouette outline, looming under the shroud of black mist and fluorescing light.

Its mast towered into the mist, the tattered black sail already riddled with holes yet still droop heavily like a shroud, absorbing the last bit of dim light around.

Its hull was huge and twisted, with the wood displaying an unnatural dark brown, as if it had been repeatedly dyed by blood and fire, deeply corroded by ti and moisture.

The ship’s bow, vaguely visible with a ferocious outline, was of so forgotten deep-sea beast, with hollow eye sockets gazing into the boundless darkness ahead.

In this nearly cursed, floating darkness, its very form appeared ghostly and unreliable.

It was only then that Lin Yi noticed that, on this eerie wooden ship, there were actually shadowy figures aplenty!

No—it wasn’t really his doing, it seed everything around was becoming gradually colored with the awakening of his cognition.

The original shadows of those people only started to reveal themselves at this mont.

But nonetheless, all these crew mbers still exuded a heavy atmosphere of death. Each of them seed lifeless, at death’s door.

A few figures draped in tattered oilcloth cloaks stood like statues by the ship’s edge, their faces hidden deep within the shadows of their hoods. Only faint gold or dark red glows flickered in the depths of their eye sockets, resembling phosphorus fire drifting around graves.

They silently gazed at this devouring darkness, their movents stiff, lacking any semblance of a living person’s breath.

"Night Watchn?!" Lin Yi was secretly startled, unable to help but exclaim inwardly, "No, not ’Night Watchn,’ they should be... ’Mourners’!"

The "Mourners" are the superhumanoid weapons nurtured by the "Designer" Amon and "Divine Craftsman" through the "Heroic Spirit Hall," and rather than saying they have extraordinary obedience to the "Original Apostles," it might be better to say they have absolute loyalty to the human race.

Even just in the positions that Lin Yi could observe on this ship, there were no fewer than twenty "Mourners," more than the total of "Night Watchn" currently existing in the school district!

On the deck, inside the cabin, there seed to be active figures one after another. They should be the "Black Moon Apostle" followers of the "Original Apostles." Compared to the "Mourners," they evidently possessed more "vitality," like real living people.

But besides the "Black Moon Apostles," Lin Yi also discovered two groups different from the "Apostles’" aura, one exuding a ghostly cold vibe, and the other radiating a frenzied killing intent.

The frenzied and biting killing intent unmistakably ca from the "Butchers," but what surprised Lin Yi was that the "Butchers" were not a unique unit; they were a community!

This group seed to possess the transcendent traits of a "Butcher," but only the most outstanding individual among them could be crowned with the honorary title of "Butcher."

This involuntarily sprouted a strange notion in Lin Yi’s heart: "Could it be... the ’Butcher’ isn’t an honorary title for the ’Original Apostles’?"

It was like Lin Yi suddenly awakened from mories about the "Butcher," suddenly realizing that the title "Butcher" stemd from a more ancient heritage, not among the eighteen honorary titles of the "Original Apostles."

And that other group, Lin Yi also understood; they were the "Fog Nightmare Hunters," hunters traversing within the black mist, the nightmares of bizarre creatures.

The "Fog Nightmare Hunters" are also an ancient heritage, just like the "Butchers," one of the true indigenous powers in this world. They had already been combating the bizarre creatures within the black mist long before the "Original Apostles" were born.

They are the seeds of prehistoric civilization.

From the slightly decayed crevices of the ship, faint yellow fluorescence seeped out, flowing with the last warm breath inside this ghostly ship.

The thick black mist slowly, with a cold malice, flowed over the hull, brushed against the cold mast, and licked the rusty anchor chains. The air was as heavy as lead; every breath felt like swallowing cold black mist tinged with a rusty taste.

In this seemingly cursed sea, ti seed to have stalled, leaving only eternal fog, decayed ships, and fear penetrating the bones capable of freezing the soul...

It was as if this ship was sailing here, not to explore the unknown, but to plunge into a lightless abyss belonging to the Lost Souls, where only darkness deeper than darkness lay ahead, as if the entire world whispered eternal downfall...

Lin Yi gathered his perception, penetrating the hull, and deep within the ship’s cabin, he vaguely sensed a trace of familiar taste, like Wei Liang’s, or perhaps the "Contractor’s," or perhaps even like the "Boss’s"...

"Contractor... Boss... Liangzi...?!"

Lin Yi’s eyes lit up, but just as he tried to approach them, the surrounding darkness once again surged back like a viscous liquid, soon engulfing the entire world.
