However, with the mission at hand, Mao Feiyang did not give Lin Yi the chance to play with mud before the stone wall, and continued to climb the stone steps upward.
Grey mist billowing, the dim light and shadow at the end kept fluctuating, accompanied by the salty sea breeze caress Lin Yi’s cheeks, constantly reminding him of what lies beyond the portal.
"Observatory... we’re finally here." Lin Yi murmured.
Yet, after Mao Feiyang made it halfway up the stone steps, Lin Yi gradually sensed sothing bizarre and mystical.
The closer he got to the portal, the more of a barrier akin to the Door Attribute he felt in the space, as if another world was beyond this portal of light and mist.
Wave after wave of dim, irregular ripples slowly spread out from the portal, touching the draft engravings on the stone wall, gradually giving rise to shimring and colorful brilliance in this narrow space.
An indistinct sense of oppression, like waves, surged one after another.
Mao Feiyang maintained his usual expression without hesitation, and upon reaching the portal, plunged right in.
The mont Mao Feiyang traversed the portal, countless intertwined breaths surged forward like a mudslide, sending Lin Yi’s perception into brief chaos.
"Buzz... Buzz..."
Lin Yi’s vision beca blank, with nothing left but the irregular noise akin to the cicada’s sumr song in his ears.
His vision gradually recovered, but what appeared in his field of vision beca endlessly absurd and surreal.
He realized what lay before him was not the observatory but an odd vision flowing like a liquid.
Below his feet lay cold, solid dark architecture; above his head, a boiling, burning starry sky, flas spewing like boundary stones dividing life and death, everything in this world flowed and trembled, emitting vibrations and screeches that humans cannot comprehend...
This was not reality, but so sort of tangible ntal prison!
"What is this...?!" An intense sense of familiarity, indescribable by words, surged in his heart. Though the scene was absurd, bizarre, and magnificently strange, it didn’t bewilder him.
A flash of enlightennt made his mind suddenly clear.
"Damn... could this be ’Star Moon Night’?!"
Lin Yi felt sothing, and at that mont, the whole world slowly dimd again, with the flowing liquid solidifying, the boiling, burning starry sky slowly cooling, and everything before him gradually retreating like a curtain being drawn back to a corner...
Gradually, all the noise faded away, and the light wind re-erged beside his ears.
His perception slowly spread around him, cascading towards the erected sand dunes, and slowly laid flat on the ground.
Soon, he began to notice fine raindrops softly falling on his skin, bringing a cold sensation, and he could feel the damp, chilly touch of the stone bricks beneath him, and also sense a bizarre, indescribable feeling falling from the unknown void, as if he was being watched by sothing.
These complex sensory feedbacks erged all at once, and as these sensations arose, his vision started to return to normal.
He noticed Mao Feiyang at this mont lying like a dog eating mud on the observing deck’s bluestone, seemingly tripping as he left the portal and sprawling onto the ground.
"This is the real observatory... then what was that Phantom Vision suspected to be the ’Star Moon Night’ just now...?"
Following that feeling, Lin Yi looked towards the direction where the bizarre and magnificent sky curtain had retreated, and at the grand circular stone wall of the observatory, he saw Van Gogh’s tiless masterpiece—"Star Moon Night"!
The boundary of the observatory was a massive circular stone wall, filled with marks of wind and rain abrasion. Though the murals were "indoors," the observatory’s transparent do was thinner than Yao’s condom, incapable of resisting the seepage of rain mist at map level.
Hence, this supposedly enclosed environnt of the observatory was at this mont enveloped by the fine rain transforming into a continuous rain curtain, leaving the air filled with moss, moisture, and so faint fishy sea sll.
On that large circular stone wall full of strange murals from different eras, mythological reliefs, and mysterious engravings, the "Star Moon Night," born two centuries ago, occupied an extrely prominent corner among them.
"That realistic illusion just now... could it have co from the ’Star Moon Night’ contamination?"
That intense, indiscriminate range contamination continued radiating pollution like an endless source. Even with Lin Yi’s current willpower and Pollution Depth, being prepared did not prevent them from being affected.
He then finally noticed Mao Feiyang.
Mao Feiyang lay on the bluestone pavent of the observatory’s floor, seemingly having tripped while stepping out from the portal, face planting and sliding onto the ground, finally falling over to the side.
The floor of the observatory was paved with large blocks of bluestone, with intertwined patterns seemingly holding so sort of peculiar Secret Mark ripple making it look like nurous ceremonial magic circles, and Mao Feiyang lying within looked like a sacrificial offering thrown inside.
