109: Chapter 51 Cafeteria Mystery (All be overco!) 109: Chapter 51 Cafeteria Mystery (All be overco!) “Sss…”
Having realized this, Lin Yi couldn’t help but inhale sharply, his heart skipping a beat in that mont.
His pupils contracted slightly as the Teaching Building lood large in his sight…
But really, the Teaching Building was okay; it was the Green Forest Belt surrounding the building that was truly off.
The setting sun inclined slightly, its afterglow scattering down, and a thin mist rose in the Green Forest Belt, like a huge steaming basket.
A gentle breeze ca by, swaying the branches and leaves in the Green Forest Belt, where the leaves rustled and crept as if sothing was lurking among them, ready to erge at any mont.
Lin Yi thought of sothing and placed his hand on Wei Liang’s shoulder, just about to call out to him…
“Whoa, fuck!” But Wei Liang was startled by Lin Yi’s sudden gesture.
He reflexively dodged half a step away, his arms unconsciously raising in a position that suggested he could deliver a volley of attacks at any mont.
However, when he realized it was Lin Yi who had tapped him, the impressive aura he had just exuded like a drawn sword deflated like a pierced ball.
“Old Lin?
What’s so urgent that you had to stop ?
Damn, you nearly scared to death!” Wei Liang heaved a sigh of relief, his eyes widened as he looked at Lin Yi, “Hey hey hey, why aren’t you saying anything?”
He waved his hand in front of Lin Yi’s face.
Lin Yi wasn’t distracted, he was just looking at Wei Liang in disbelief, his hand frozen in mid-air, still not recovered from the recent encounter.
Wei Liang, in that brief mont, had given Lin Yi the impression of being a completely different person than usual; he even doubted if Wei Liang would have unleashed an explosive attack had it been anyone else but him.
After all, that presence was way too damn powerful.
“Liangzi…
you said you can’t do martial arts?”
Wei Liang’s mouth twitched slightly as he shook his hands and coughed awkwardly, then said, “Martial arts my ass…
Clearly, it was just a bluff!”
Seeing Lin Yi giving him a look that scread “I don’t believe it,” he could only helplessly spread his hands, then re-assud the stance he had just adopted.
“If you don’t believe , see for yourself…”
As he began to move, he muttered so combo mnemonic under his breath.
When Lin Yi listened closely, he discovered it was—
“Wild Bite starter!
AAA…
follow with Nine Injuries into Eight Zheng…
one, two…
backstep dive…
and then Qin Yueyang…
my AAAAA…”
Wei Liang’s “combo” flowed too smoothly, as if he had been practicing it for years, but…
Lin Yi gradually realized that, damn it, wasn’t this a combo from a Street Fighter arcade ga?!
His expression gradually twisted, and then changed into the likeness of the “subway grandpa on the phone.gif”…
This combo, fancy as it was…
wasn’t it fake?
“End of the combo!” Wei Liang finished his routine, took a deep breath, and then exhaled turbidly, “That’s the combo.
If you insist on elaborating, just imagine so special effects, and it’ll seem like I’m really aweso.”
“If you like, you can even pretend I ended with a ‘Hundred Styles: Ghost Burn’…
That’s how I used to combo people when I was a kid.”
The corners of Lin Yi’s mouth twitched unceasingly; he had a feeling Wei Liang was hiding the fact that he was a peerless martial artist.
But then, rembering how this peerless martial artist had nearly run off with a fake teacher the mont he entered the school grounds yesterday, he felt a surreal contrast…
“Alright, alright, tell what was so important just now, and let’s go have dinner if there’s nothing!” Wei Liang touched his growling stomach.
He was too embarrassed to tell Lin Yi that when he went to the gymnasium’s second floor, thinking of practicing gymnastics with a pretty girl, he had instead collided with a gymnast hunk and had been roped into practicing for over forty minutes…
Compared to Lin Yi, he felt like all his good luck for the day had been transferred to Lin Yi.
Lin Yi placed his hand on his shoulder and then looked towards the Green Forest Belt, speaking in a grave tone:
“Liangzi, give a hand here, and pull back if I ‘get drowsy.’
“Uh, Old Lin, you want to…?” Wei Liang suddenly beca aware of sothing and his gaze subconsciously followed Lin Yi’s, but Lin Yi stopped him.
“Don’t look yet!”
“Eh!” Wei Liang shivered, his body trembling as he forcefully pulled his half-turned neck back, “Okay, okay, okay, I’ll keep watch for you.
Just be careful…”
“Alright.” Lin Yi nodded and began to shift his attention to the Green Forest Belt.
He noticed so tension in Wei Liang and reassured him, “Don’t panic, Liangzi, I’m just going to take a quick look.”
“You said the sa damn thing last ti in the classroom!” Wei Liang couldn’t help but exclaim.
“This ti, I can’t just stare and conjure up a foggy day, can I?” Lin Yi retorted helplessly, “What do you think I am, Storm Woman?”
“Fuck, don’t jinx it!” Wei Liang exclaid with widened eyes.
“Give a few seconds to observe, then we’ll go eat!” Lin Yi said seriously, then closed his mouth.
He watched the Green Forest Belt, and then noticed the thin mist lingering among the trees, which despite occasionally drifting out, was quickly evaporated by the sunlight.
Yet, as he looked deeper into the Green Forest Belt, light and shadow gradually shifted from dim to pitch black.
The remnants of the sun, fragnted and scattered by the branches and leaves, sprinkled through the mist-covered Green Forest Belt.
From a distance, it looked like a person subrged in the ocean looking up at the blue sky, observing in between the sea and sky, blurred pillars of light.
