Noel and Riven had now gone really deep into the second floor, though the monster that they t had still been the sa monsters and nothing changed, but as they got deeper, a low growl pulled their attention. They looked up ahead and saw sothing they didn’t expect.

Three hobgoblins stood guard of a large door. Each of the hobgoblins was riding a horned four-eyed wolf. The wolves were a ter and a half tall. The hobgoblins as well were the size of the average man.

Each of the hobgoblins had a sword in hand and full body armour. They looked trained and ready to fight.

"That door behind must be a boss room or sothing," Noel said.

"Truly lucky us," Riven responded. He was genuinely happy that they would get to enter a boss room, but a notification ca up that made his heart leap up his throat.

[Title: The one loved by Chaos is now in effect.]

Imdiately he saw that notification, he imdiately wanted to back away from here, but Noel had started approaching the hobgoblins.

"Noel, no," Riven said. Noel turned with a confused look, and one of the hobgoblins used that as the opportunity to attack. Kicking the wolf in the side, it imdiately charged in, leaped into the air and ca down with a full-powered claw slash.

Riven dashed, he pulled out his sword and blocked the attack behind Noel. Sparks flew as the claw hit the sword.

"Noel, we have to be out, this doesn’t feel right," Riven said as he blocked the attack, but before Noel could respond, one of the goblins rode the wolf and leapt off its back, stabbing down at Noel.

Noel rolled out of the way, dodging the goblin. He got up on his feet and got into a stance. "Don’t talk now, fight," he said to Riven.

Riven bit his lower lip, he pushed the wolf’s paw back and leaped back a few ters and got into his stance.

"There’s no escaping this, and it seems these hobgoblins aren’t too strong, I just have to give my all," he said and glanced at Noel. They both nodded and charged in.

Riven imdiately used Fla Blast, targeting the wolf that had attacked him. The wolf was too big to dodge the attack, and it was not expecting it, so the flas collided with its waist. The explosion followed and blew a huge chunk off the wolf’s waist. The hobgoblin on its back was also blasted away by the force of the explosion.

The explosion provided enough cover for Noel to charge in unnoticed. He leaped into the air, sword at his side cracking with lightning.

The goblins looked and all they saw was a bright spark before Noel ca down with his sword. He went for a full-powered slash.

The goblin blocked the attack but was imdiately thrown back by the force of the attack, slamming into the wall.

Noel was about to charge at the goblin, but a wolf leaped at him, going for his neck. He twisted his body in an unusual way very quickly and slashed the wolf under its armpit.

The blood sprayed out and the wolf crashed into the ground. But before Noel could look forward, a hobgoblin ca for his neck. Riven’s sword ca at the right ti and blocked the attack.

Riven nodded to Noel and then pushed the goblin back before using a Fla Arc to chop off one of its arms quickly.

The goblin scread in pain and tried to retreat, but Riven chased after it. He stabbed right through its heart and killed it.

"Riven, watch out!" Noel yelled just before the wolf launched at Riven with its jaws opened wide.

"Choke on this," Riven said. He used Fla Blast at point-blank range. The fla hit the back of the wolf’s mouth. The explosion followed and obliterated the mouth of the wolf, killing it.

Noel charged at the goblin that he threw to the wall. The goblin stared as Noel was about to reach him and then suddenly pulled out an orb and threw it at full speed.

Noel instinctively slashed the orb, and a fiery powder ca out and got into his eyes, imdiately burning his eyes and turning them blood red.

Noel took a step back, covering his eyes in pain, tossing his body around. The hobgoblin let out a sinister smile after seeing its plan work. It charged at Noel to kill him.

But as it stepped into striking range, Noel moved, slashing with his sword. He cut off the head of the hobgoblin in one move.

"You really thought that would be enough to save you?" Noel asked with his eyes shut. He pulled out a healing potion and drank everything, restoring his eyes back to normal.

He turned around and saw that Riven had taken care of the other goblin, and all that remained was the last wolf.

They both charged at the wolf at the sa ti and began landing a flurry of attacks from all angles until the wolf was covered in deep cuts and finally collapsed to the ground, dead.

"That went a lot easier than expected," Noel said, but Riven still felt a sense of unease. That ssage the system sent could not have been for sothing as simple as this.

And as he thought, the doors that were shut suddenly swung open, and a powerful suction force pulled them in. They tried to fight against it, but nothing they did helped, and they were both pulled into the darkness within.

[...]

"Arghhh," Riven groaned in pain as his entire body felt like it had been run over. His eyes fluttered open and he found himself lying flat on the ground.

He got up quickly and looked around. The last thing he rembered was being sucked into the boss room. He was now inside a circular room with walls made of stone bricks and a floor of marble. He could only see a small distance from where he was; the rest was darkness.

And from that darkness, two blood-red eyes glowed.
