Riven saw the head of the adventurer flip through the air. Everything moved in slow motion, the air went stale, every breath felt like he was breathing fire, his eyes wide open, disbelief written all over his face.

As he watched the body of the adventurer hit the ground, he realized that the situation he had found himself in was more dire than he thought.

"You really thought running off after what you did would make us leave you?" the one in the middle asked. He gripped his sword tightly as he walked toward Riven.

"You used an advanced spell, kid. A kid your age should not know that, yet you did, so I’m sure you have a lot of good things to give us," he said.

’After what I just saw, these three n are really good. If I hold back even a little, I’m definitely going to die. I have to go all out.’ Riven ca to a conclusion in his mind.

He started taking steps back like he was retreating in fear, slow, shaky steps. The n saw this and smiled, feeling that they had broken the heart of this kid.

But after taking a few steps, Riven made his move. He stretched out his hand and used Fla Blast again, this ti he targeted the leader.

The man saw the attack. He attempted to dodge it, but he was not fast enough, so it slamd into his shoulder, followed by the full explosion that almost completely shattered his shoulder.

With the hit landed, Riven pulled his sword. He charged in at top speed, using the chaos to his advantage. He stabbed for the heart of the leader.

But in that mont, the leader’s face changed from one of pain to an evil smirk. His eyes shined with a sinister light, he locked gazes with Riven.

Riven didn’t know how or when, but the short sword sohow was in the uninjured hand and already in the motion of a slash. He moved fast, using his sword to block the short sword.

He blocked the attack successfully, pushed back a few steps, but he wasn’t hurt. The two n moved at the sa ti, coming from two directions to flank Riven.

Riven panicked and used Fla Blast at one, but to his surprise and dismay, the man stomped the ground just at the right ti and a wall of earth shot up and took the blast of the attack, getting destroyed rather than taking the attack himself.

The second man was already within range of attack. He made a full-powered swing for Riven’s neck.

"Die already, you brat."

Riven took a step backward in that mont. He blocked the attack, his entire arm received a massive shock from the force of the blow. He gritted his teeth regardless and stood strong.

But he couldn’t keep a stalemate for long, as the other man was already headed for him again. The man leaped into the air and slashed down, wanting to end it all in one blow.

Riven didn’t know what to do right now. He didn’t have this level of battle experience, and the fact that he was still alive was luck. He wasn’t sure if that luck would pan out right now.

He glanced over his shoulder, seeing exactly where the blade was. He used every strength in his body to push the blade of the first man back a little, he tripped himself and fell to the ground.

It was a reckless move, but it allowed him to dodge the attack coming from behind. He rolled quickly and pushed himself up, his breathing was all over the place, his body covered in dirt.

"Did you really think that you had gotten rid of ?" Suddenly the leader yelled. Riven felt his presence charging at him from behind. He spun around as fast as humanly possible, his sword already swinging to block or hit whatever attack was coming for him.

When he saw his sword about to hit the sword of the leader, he felt like he had managed to block it, but suddenly, the sword vanished—no, not vanished—it moved so fast that his eyes could not follow.

The sword was following another strike path, vastly different from the first one. Shocked and confused, Riven could do nothing about the attack—it dug into his collar, blood sprayed out imdiately.

"Arghhhhh!" Riven cried in pain. He fell down after the attack, his shoulder bleeding without stop. His eyes reddened, filled with tears he wanted to release, but he couldn’t.

He gritted his teeth, pushed himself off the ground and grabbed his sword with both hands. His grip on the sword was shaky, but he did his best to keep it stable.

He stared at the leader and noticed that the wound had already healed. He must have used so potions or sothing, but Riven didn’t have the luxury of that.

He was cornered down, the three of them standing in front of him, their smiles wide like demons from hell. There was no humanity in their eyes—they saw him as nothing but a ans to gain.

’What do I do? What do I do? I can’t die here, not now, not yet. I refuse it.’ Riven thought, and then an idea hit him. It wouldn’t be sothing explosive, but it could give him the edge to survive.

Right now, he had twenty-four free stat points lying around. That was his trump card—his way out of this.

"System, place seven points to Strength, six to Agility, four to Endurance, four to Perception, and three to Intelligence."

He felt an imdiate surge of energy as he added the points. He felt renewed with strength, ready to go again. His current stats had changed to:

[Strength: 20]

[Agility: 20]

[Endurance: 16]

[Intelligence: 19]

[Willpower: 18]

[Perception: 17]

[Charisma: 8]

He looked up at the n, a grin ford on his face. He gripped his sword tight and pointed it at them, "If you want what I have, you’ll have to give your life for it."
