The capital was noisy, people carrying out their businesses all around. Even though this was the second ti that he had been here, it was still a beautiful place to be.

The massive buildings made of fine marbles and bricks, the beautifully made roads that stretched as far as the eye could see.

"So where do you want to go?" Mia asked.

"Hmm, let’s get sothing to eat first. It’s still early, but I’m craving so at," Riven said. He looked around for a bit and then looked at her. "I’m sure that you have been here a lot of tis. Do you know any places to eat?" he asked.

"I’m the daughter of a Duke. No one would allow wander the streets just like that," she replied.

"I find that hard to believe. You aren’t the type that soone can stop," Riven said.

"Stop speaking like you know . Sigh, I know a place, co with ," she said and started walking.

"I knew it," Riven said and followed behind. As they walked through the street, they could feel the eyes pinned on them. It slowly made Riven uncomfortable.

"Why are they looking at us so much?" he asked.

"We are students of the Royal Academy. Your status just because you are students is comparable to a high noble on its own," she replied, keeping her eyes forward.

"Huh? I never knew about that," Riven said, and he wasn’t lying about it.

’The Royal Academy had a lot of prestige in the story and the students were respected, but to be compared to nobles, that wasn’t part of the story.

A lot has not been aligning to the story. Why is it changing? Is it because of my presence?’

"Hey, are you coming?" she called out to him. He snapped out of his thoughts and rushed towards her.

"Sorry, I was daydreaming," he said with an embarrassed laugh. She stared at him for a few seconds, as if trying to understand him, then she turned and kept walking while he followed.

’It might not look like much, but a lot is changing in the story, and it’s not for the better. He recalled what Quin told him about the demonized and how they were getting stronger.’

After a few minutes of walking, they finally made it to a restaurant, and it was definitely not what Riven was expecting.

He had expected a fine dining place with five-star aesthetics—the type of place that would serve you a spoon’s worth of food and charge you an exorbitant price for it.

But what he was seeing here was not that. It was a simple-looking restaurant. A sign stood at the door with words written using chalk:

(Today’s Special: Horned Rabbit Steak)

"I ate here once before. It’s not as fancy as the places I’ve been before, but for so reason, it was the best food I had," she said before pushing the door open. It creaked on its hinges, hinting at the fact it needed so oiling.

They walked in and the warm sll of steak filled their noses. The place was nearly filled; all the tables had families, couples, and other people seated.

As soon as one of the waiters saw the both of them walk in, he rushed towards them. He knew the uniform of the Royal Academy right off the bat.

He was a young man with an average build and brown hair. He was in a white shirt and black trousers, with a black apron around his waist.

He bowed slightly and greeted, "Welco to our restaurant. Please, let get you a table," he said.

"Hmm? The last ti I was here was three months ago and there were barely any waiters," Mia said.

The boy stood straight and responded to her, "Well, the restaurant has gone through so changes. I was also hired a month back.

I believe a noble has invested into our restaurant and has major shares in it now." The boy said. Though he was a waiter, the way he spoke was clear and eloquent.

"Oh, well whatever, just take us to a table," she said.

Riven noticed that even when she was trying to be normal, there was a condescending, above-it-all tone in her voice. It was as if this character had now been molded into her mind and soul.

The waiter imdiately led them to a table closest to a window. They both sat down, and he showed them the nu.

Riven didn’t waste any ti. He imdiately pointed at the special, "I’ll have the horned rabbit steak. Let’s start with four plates of it."

The waiter was stunned by the amount, but he imdiately nodded because he was sure if he did well, he would get a good tip for sure.

"And for the young miss?" the waiter asked.

"Sa thing, but only one plate," she responded.

"Would you like wine?" he asked.

"I can’t have that yet," Riven said. He was only thirteen, soon to be fourteen—the legal age for that. Mia, on the other hand, was already fourteen.

Though they were that young, they both looked at least sixteen. It was the effect of mana and training; it was sothing very common in this world.

The waiter walked off, and after five minutes, he returned with a large tray holding their order. He placed it on the table and the aroma exploded.

"That was fast," Riven said. Without waiting, he started digging in.

Mia slowly took her plate and started eating. She cut the at up and took a forkful of it. She paused and pointed her fork at him, "You are a noble, you know, right? At least make it look like that," she said.

Riven stopped. He swallowed the food in his mouth and then spoke. "The things we learned as nobles are only to put up appearances. None of us really like all those procedures that we have to go through.

So when you have the opportunity to unwind, you should," he said and cut up another piece.

Suddenly, the door of the restaurant swung open with a bang.
