"Ghost?" Aurora didn’t think of what she saw earlier as a ghost since it would an she was dead right? For a person to be able to do such a thing was wild and the fact that ghosts could show themselves to soone was even wilder. "Have you ever seen a ghost, Vincent?"
"No. For as long as I will live I may never see a ghost and I really don’t want to. Unless it were my parents. Ghosts can sotis be a bad thing to encounter."
"But you said it’s a rare chance to see one," Aurora said with confusion. How did anyone know how bad it could get? Did the people who happen to et a ghost, write a book or went around telling stories about the experience?
"Ghosts who have lost themselves from what they once were before death seek out the opportunity to have life once again. This is why it’s not a good thing for them to linger in this world for too long. The more they stay, the eviler they can beco and try to take over the body of soone like you. You can tell by soone’s behavior and appearance if they have been possessed by a ghost."
"I see," Aurora replied, feeling chills all over her body. It was scary to think that a dead person could try to take over her body. She never wanted to co face to face with a ghost. "All of these new things I’m learning about just keep on getting crazier. Are there books I can use to learn more about ghosts, werewolves, and more? I have one from the witches but when I’m finished with that one, I would love another."
Vincent stirred a glass of wine he left on the table earlier. He took a sip and watched his veins beco more evident. "Be careful of the things you eat and drink here, Aurora. There are books in my study but they are limited. Books on creatures like myself are normally kept by those creatures so you wouldn’t find a lot of information on vampires in a wolf community."
"Thank you. I’m going to retire for the night if you don’t mind. The food has gotten cold," Aurora placed her napkin down on her half-empty plate.
Vincent stood up first moving to help her get out of her chair. He pulled back Aurora’s chair like the gentleman he promised he was. "Let’s have so fun before you go to bed," Vincent gave Aurora his hand to take.
"Are we leaving your ho?" She asked, taking his hand without a second thought. Aurora was excited to end the night off on a high note with whatever Vincent had planned.
She eagerly followed behind Vincent back up the second floor but instead of going to either of the rooms on this floor, Vincent took her to stairs leading up to another floor.
"This is the way to the attic but that’s not what we’re here for. You’re lucky my ho is in the middle of the community allowing us to see quite a lot of what is happening here today. I thought of a way for you to see so of what is happening tonight without having to be around anyone." Vincent released her hand montarily to open a window in the attic. He stepped out the window onto a tiny balcony and once it was safe, he helped Aurora outside the window. "Welco to one of the best views in the community."
Aurora couldn’t disagree with him there as she looked out and got a better grasp of how large the community was. The streets were lit up with lanterns to give light for everyone passing by and like the human town, stalls were being set up left and right. What she admired most of all was the view of the sky she had while standing on top of his ho.
"You can sit here and watch until you feel tired," he pointed to a brick wall part of the balcony that was hard but offered her a place to sit.
Aurora pushed most of her dress out the way and sat down on the wall. She was slightly terrified of sitting on a roof like this but was certain Vincent wouldn’t let her fall. "Sorry, I’m causing you to miss the festival. Were you needed down there tonight?"
Vincent focused on a group of small children chasing after each other through the busy street receiving warnings from adults to be careful. "My attendance to things like this hasn’t been the best since my parents passed away. I either go to the walls to make sure we have no visitors or I stay at ho and watch what I can from my ho. I’m not as excited as you are when it cos to festivals because of the mories I have with my brother and parents."
"Did I ever get to et your parents?" Aurora wondered. What type of people were they and how did they die?
"No. You ca shortly after their deaths. They must’ve known I needed cheering up back then and sent you. Victor normally doesn’t go to the festival either unless one of our friends is performing the ritual to transform into a wolf for the first ti."
"Can everyone here beco a wolf?" Aurora found this to be cool.
"They can but it’s sothing hard to do. They have to beco one with the animal inside of them and not everyone can hold that connection long enough to beco a wolf. It’s not sothing you can force to happen or teach anyone. It’s a feeling you have when you’ve connected to your inner wolf and they reveal their wolf form at a celebration like this."
"Was that how you revealed yourself to others?" His appearance was far different from that of a common wolf. He was more of a large wolf walking on his hind legs.
"No, I did it the day my uncle tried taking over my father’s empty position to beco the leader. You should’ve seen how much he fud with anger that day."
